🇺🇸tony's chocolonely chocolate bar recall due to rocks🇺🇸
literally, due to rocks. they got rocks in them
(note: this also affects a TON of other countries. rocks for everyone!)
april 2, 2025

Tony’s Chocolonely Inc., a New York, New York Corporation, is voluntarily recalling seven lots of Tony’s brand Dark Almond Sea Salt Bar (6.35oz); and Everything Bar (6.35oz) because the product may contain small stones. The products were distributed nationwide and sold in the United States via retail stores and www.tonyschocolonely.com; distribution of the products began February 7, 2025 and ended March 24, 2025.
emphasis mine.
this recall only affects some lots of the dark almond sea salt bar and the everything bar, due to the rock problem. they were distributed nationwide in stores and on the internet. I included their pictures at the top.
I am not able to format a table for tumblr, so check that recall link for the specific lot codes and expiration dates.
The recall was initiated following 12 reports of consumers finding small stones in the product not filtered during third-party almond harvesting and the almond processing process. All complaints occurred outside of the United States and Canada, and no injuries were reported.
they found rocks after there were 12 reports that said hey. there are rocks in this. this can easily lead to dental problems if someone tries to bite full force on a rock and breaks a tooth or otherwise injures their mouth. dental infections can eventually become life-threatening even in people who are young and otherwise healthy. so it is a good thing nobody apparently ate the rocks yet. or at least, nobody got injured while potentially eating rocks. yet
If you have purchased one of the affected products with the specified lot codes and have not yet consumed it, you are advised not to eat the product. Please return the product to the store of purchase for a refund or replacement or dispose of the product. Please consult the following webpage to confirm how to identify the lot code and claim a refund or replacement in your market: https://us.tonyschocolonely.com/pages/recall-fo-intl-0325
emphasis mine.
please do not the rocks. thank you

Today, please take a moment to remember that there is still so much beauty and complexity and amazing, inexplicable wonder in the world. We are not lost. The Earth is not lost. There is still so much worth fighting for.

An Email or Letter to Send to your Lib Dem MP in Support of Trans Rights
I've just written to my MP, and thought I'd share what I wrote so that anyone in a similar situation (British, Lib Dem constituency) but who isn't great with words can borrow from it to write to their own MP. Please do try to edit and personalise it so that it doesn't get written off as spam. I have chosen to focus on opposing the terf 'women's rights' messaging, as both myself and my MP are cis women, and transmisogyny seems to be the biggest anti-trans talking point at this time in this country.
Dear [MP],
I am writing today to urge you and the Liberal Democrat Party to continue standing up for the rights of transgender people in the UK.
Recent events nationally and worldwide, including the supreme court ruling last week, are leaving trans people increasingly vulnerable and in danger of having their human rights stripped away under the false guise of 'protecting women'. Freedom of self-determination and self-expression is vital for the operation of a free country, and any kind of state interference in people's personal identities, bodily autonomy, or right to exist peacefully in public spaces sets up a slippery slope towards authoritarianism and a surveillance state.
[As a cis woman with many transgender friends and family members - personalise to your situation], I find it frightening not only in terms of LGBTQ+ rights, but also from a feminist perspective: the anti-trans campaign is making incredibly regressive claims that those assigned male at birth are inherently violent, while those assigned female at birth are inherently weak, a harmful belief system which the UK has long since left to history. Trans people may be the current scapegoats, but trans-exclusionary approaches to gender policy pave the way for increasing gender segregation and policing of gender expression. Any policy that requires women to 'prove' their womanhood leaves women and girls vulnerable to scrutiny that violates their privacy and dignity, all in the name of supposedly keeping them safe - despite the fact that there is no statistical evidence that trans women have been harming or obstructing cis women. In fact, trans people are vastly more vulnerable to harrassment and violence from cis people than the reverse.
The 'gender critical' movement are pushing a dangerous agenda that goes far beyond their right to hold their own personal beliefs about transgender people: they are leading a hate campaign of misinformation, attempting to paint a vulnerable minority as dangerous and to be eliminated from society - a value system which has never come out on the right side of history.
However, the recent large demonstrations in central London show that despite the vocal minority of anti-trans campaigners, the British public still want their country to be a safe and welcoming place for LGBTQ+ people - and everyone! - to express themselves freely. With Labour proving disappointingly uncommitted and ineffective, and the Conservatives holding worryingly anti-trans policies, it is vital the Liberal Democrats remain strong in their support of trans rights in the face of increasing pressure to compromise. This is a key issue influencing my vote and the votes of almost everybody I know in this constituency - including my transgender friends and family, who just want to live their lives as normally and peacefully as anyone else. I am extremely grateful and proud to live in a Liberal Democrat constituency, and to know that my community and our leaders do not support trans hate.
As well as vocally opposing any new laws restricting access to gender affirming healthcare or legal recognition for trans adults or adolescents, or eroding their protection from discrimination, in terms of smaller short-term actions, I would love to see [your constituency] ensuring public spaces include unisex bathrooms or changing areas, to make sure that trans people can continue to access public spaces if their use of gendered bathrooms is legally or socially restricted. Bathroom access is a pressing worry for many of my trans friends at this time, as it limits how much time they can spend outside their own homes, which in terms affects their ability to work, travel, and be part of the community.
My thanks for all you have already done for the constituency, and for taking the time to read my message.
Kind regards,
[Your Name]
Your neighbour in [place of residence]
