There are several things to consider when choosing a hike, including rating, difficulty, elevation and more. Even if you consider yourself in good shape, we recommend you start out with novice hikes and gradually take on more challenging trails. This way, you can build confidence and skills while avoiding injury or worse--burn out. Spend a little time learning how to navigate the rating scale to figure out which trail is right for you. Check out the link in our profile if you’re not sure where to start. http://ow.ly/rUG5306yFYi #hike #camping#trails

Coffee is essential to any good camping trip — a bag of fresh grounds is usually the first thing in our pack. We like to keep things simple so we developed a feather-light mesh filter that brews superb coffee without a bunch of bells and whistles or moving parts. Our kit "tames the morning bear" with traditional cowboy style brewing, where the grinds go in with the hot water. But instead of pouring through a bandana, the mesh filter is secured across the bottle mouth letting the good stuff flow out. Our Solo Coffee Kit makes one memorable cup of joe that motivates us to unzip the sleeping bag on a cool morning. link in our profile http://ss1.us/a/DE7wNl1t #coffee#campcoffee #cowboycoffee #coffeeessentials

Before heading out on a hike, make sure you’ve packed the right clothes! Think moisture-wicking base layers, wool socks that keep you warm even when you’re wet, layers you can easily take off or put on as the temperature changes, a waterproof shell for unexpected rain and a hat to keep your head warm and dry. Here’s a hint: our Hiking Socks are the best around--we’ve checked! Woven from Merino wool they even have a little extra cushioning in the heel and ball of the foot. We wear them year-round!. http://ss1.us/a/LjezuvQh
