Day i stopped counting of BEGGING to see Kagiura and his family. I just want to see them interact. I want to see the dynamics between him and his siblings and his parents play out so I can write a 30 pg essay on how it impacts his personality at any given moment. NEED

We got these views of his parents and his older sister which by the way is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Why is his dad embarrassed. I'm crying this tall ass grown ass man acting cute seeing his young son express love for his family. That's so cute. Stop. And his mom laughing. Also he has the same hair texture as his mom. Okay I REALLLY need to see his parents

And his older sister is relatively young here in a school uniform. And she's like "dad go wake mom up. Holy shit where'd dad go, aa-kun (AA-KUN IM GONNA THROW UP) go get them. Aa-kun why are you just STANDING there yall are all USELESS" I'd be miffed if i were her.

Now this one stumps me a little. In the picture I thought it was his mom which it could be but the hair texture is different so idek who it is. Cant be his sister bc thats not what her hair looks like at all... Aunt maybe? According to LN hirano, kagiura looks like his aunt so lets go with that or mom with bedhair or something. And in the back, I'm pretty sure those r his little sisters and his dad doing God knows what. I LOVE the kagiuras dawg they're so freaking silly.

Their dynamics being inherently different from the start is what makes both couples so fun and cool and unique but for some reason people see hrkgs as a bad thing despite the circumstances literally explaining why it is the way it is and why it WORKS FOR THEM!!! A ssmy-like dynamic would not only be boring to see again with hrkg, it wouldn't even make sense considering the different environment, different character, and different story. Same thing with a hrkg-like dynamic for ssmy it just wouldn't work considering how the story is set up. OPEN THE SCHOOLS

i cannot for the life of me remember where it was from, the scanlation or the yenpress tl, but one translator's note points out that kagi speaks extremely informally with hirano, as more of a friend more than a kouhai. i feel like this is lost in translation a lot, especially when (bored) (jobless) folks start talking about how disrespectful kagi is in comparison to sasaki.

sasaki and miyano are also friends but that year between them is a gulf to cross that miyano himself acknowledges. kagihira don't really have such a gulf, because from the start hirano has pretty much encouraged kagi be super familiar with him, and gets antsy when that dynamic changes (source: hirano to kagiura (2019)).

also as a discipline committee member it's likely hirano's duty to ensure such respecting such norms in day-to-day communication is upheld in the school setting, because tbh being overly friendly with a senior can make you look like a disrespectful doofus, and being overly friendly with a junior can look like bullying. we actually see him enforce this in canon wrt sasamiya themselves:

he eases off when he learns they're actually friends, because it would make him a bit of a hypocrite innit

sasamiya will likely become more familiar by the time both are in college, but kagihira's whole deal is them skipping several steps in this relationship thing lol they're not going to be as conventional as sasamiya they literally already live together. also it's clear from the start that hirano's the one calling the shots regarding this relationship dynamic, because making kagi comfortable with his presence was his goal even before he knew who the boy was. seriously read the words on the pages you guys

like it is crucial to his relationship with miyano that sasaki very much did do this. it's this very spread.

and because shifting goalposts etc the same people will bring up ch23b inevitably and again. it's very important to sasamiya that sasaki did in fact also do that. sasamiya wouldn't be together if sasaki didn't also do that. did we read the same manga guys

Genuinely don't know how its never dawned on me before. Like everyone is entitled to their own opinions and no one needs to like a character or their story or personality. The problem comes when everyone uses the same false talking point to justify their dislike for a character (and it's always in spaces where people DO like and engage with said character). You don't have to justify why you don't like a character. Just disliking someone or their story for the fun of the game is a lost art.

But no Kagiura is not pushy. His personality and Hirano's personalities complement each other very well—neither of them mince their words and they're both stubborn and pretty headstrong. That's just how they are. So the way their words come off compared to other characters and ssmy as the other couple is gonna be different because... theyre different couples. If Kagiura is pushy then so is Hirano but no one ever says that. If Kagiura is pushy then so is Sasaki but no one ever says that. It's literally just a buzzword for "i don't like kagiura" which is so unnecessary... and its also kinda funny bc he's the most hated ssmyverse character and he looks like this

Everytime i see people say kagiuras forcing hirano to stay with him/kagiuras forcing himself onto him I genuinely have to lock in to not crash out because genuinely are these people looking at kagihira media with their eyes closed and ears shut??? because HOW ARE YOU COMING UP WITH THIS CONCLUSION????
