Life…
Is a terminal condition.
No one makes it out alive.
You have as much time as you have life because your time is your life.
I have some questions for you, Sister:
Do you find yourself going through the motions and not getting anywhere?
Do you sometimes feel as though you don’t know what you want?

What can a life coach do for you?
1 Life skills: You go to school to learn skills to get a job. but you don’t learn to deal with mindsets that can prevent you from keeping a job. A coach will work with you to create the mindset you need to win in life.
2. Focus: You cannot achieve anything without focus. A coach will help you get clear on what you want out of life as well as help you keep your eyes on the prize. Working with a coach will give you mental and emotional tools to avoid distractions and set healthy boundaries
3. Encouragement: There are no “down days” when you have a coach. A coach is positive, a coach will encourage you; a coach will support you, even if you cannot find support in other places.
4. Accountability: Your coach will hold your feet to the fire and hold you accountable to what you said that you would do. A coach will motivate you and never give up on you. A coach will give you homework and continue to call you out to be your best self!
5. Brainstorming: If you want to bounce ideas off someone, call your coach. A coach will talk you through your different ideas, and with a healthy dose of realism, help you arrive at the best option.
In short, we all need a life coach, these are not things that we can do on our own. As a certified life coach, I have the skills to help you be the best you can be and live a life filled with meaning.

Empowering Words: Overcoming Rejection
For 18 months, I relentlessly pursued the opportunity to give a TED or TEDx talk. But despite my efforts and even with a publicist pitching on my behalf, I received multiple rejections. Even a local library TEDx turned me down 😳.
But, I refuse to let external factors define my self-worth. I have come to learn that rejection doesn't mean that there is something wrong with me.
Though I haven't done a TED talk, I have spoken nationally and internationally, appeared on TV, and been published by major networks. Most importantly, I have helped countless people achieve their dreams.
So don't let rejection discourage you. Remember that rejection is not a reflection of your worth. Keep pushing forward and trust that your path will lead you to where you need to be.

The last 24 hours have been weird. But weird in a good way. I’ve had so many messages of people telling me how much I’ve helped them, how they wouldn’t be where they are today without me; how much our conversations have helped them go to the next level…
In fact, yesterday somebody sent me $500 simply because they value everything I have been able to help them achieve! 
In the last hour alone, someone made a Facebook post about me, and somebody else sent me a text which actually posted on my personal Facebook page. 
Part of me feels like saying “who me?” But the part of me that follows the evidence knows that the value that I bring to those in my world is second to none. 
It’s also forcing me to appreciate myself more not just as a coach, but as a real change agent who not only helps people achieve their goals, but improve the look, feel, and functionality of their whole lives.

Do you know what catastrophizing is?
When we only see the worst possible outcomes of a situation, this is what is known as catastrophizing.
Catastrophizers tend to really let their imagination run wild. Now, it’s good to prepare for different possible outcomes of different scenarios that we may come up against.
But, if every scenario ends in some sort of death or dismemberment type of catastrophe, then thought distortions are taking place. This can lead to unnecessary speculation about what may or may not occur. When we catastrophize endlessly, we live a very fearful existence.
There is a belief that thinking like this protects you from danger. In reality, it doesn’t, because nobody knows what actual dangers are lurking around the corner and you cannot possibly prepare for every single one of them.
Prepare best you can, but refuse to allow catastrophizing to rule your life. Catastrophizing can rob you of your confidence, your peace, and your mental health.

Yesterday someone asked me how I feel about people seeing me dancing in the park by myself.
I said “I don’t feel anything. I’m not hurting anyone by dancing in the park. I’m just enjoying myself and exercising. So why should I be bothered about what people think”

Why do dreams die?
1. We do not take our dreams seriously enough to invest in them.
2. We allow small minds to make us think that our dreams are invalid.
3. We allow people who are scared of our dreams to control us.
4. We think that excuses=results. No, excuses are excuses.
5. We are in the wrong environment (You cannot butterfly in a caterpillar environment).
6. We take the dreams of others more seriously than we do our own.

As International Coaching Week approaches from April 29th to May 5th, I wanted to share my coaching journey with you.
I discovered life coaching back in 2004, long before it became trendy, and I knew I wanted to pursue this path. In 2015, with the help of my first coach Christina Dukes, I became a certified coach through Suzanne Rossetti's Work Life Destinations.
I immediately started my coaching business, charging rock bottom prices of $100 a month, and developed my first framework, the Five Pillars of Balance. After two years, I registered my company, Balance with Dr. Shola, in the state of Illinois.
In 2017, I expanded my services to include public speaking, and in 2018, I became a Mindset Weight Loss Coach for WHOLIST. In 2019, I founded the Physician Heal Yourself brand after publishing my book of the same title.
Then, in 2020, the pandemic hit, and coaching became more in demand than ever. Although live events were canceled, my coaching services continued to thrive.
In 2021, my coach Rosetta helped me take my business to the next level, surpassing $100,000 in revenue for the second year in a row and expanding my team.
As things started to open up in 2022, I pivoted back into speaking, attended national and international conferences, and launched Empowered Womanhood, a community and life coaching hub for women.
Looking back on my journey, I have experienced both highs and lows, but being a coach has been incredibly fulfilling. As I step into the future and continue to raise capital, profits, and streamline operations, I have zero regrets about pursuing this path. Just as I am proud to be a doctor, I am proud to be a coach.
