NARCISSA LET OUT a soft sigh as she unwrapped the package slowly. underneath the gray packaging was a small black velvet box that looked familiar to the young witch. cissa didn’t have to open the box to know what was inside. she was dreading for this moment to come; inside was their great grandmother’s emerald necklace. each of druella black’s daughters were expected to be gifted an item from their great grandmother’s collection when their parents found them a match to be betrothed to. she looked up at bellatrix unsure of what to do next. 

bellatrix leaned over to glance at the necklace, not surprised that narcissa gotten such a prized heirloom among their family. after all she figured if any of them were going to get it, it would be her but given druella's choosing of her husband bella couldn't blame her. the ring she had received only a year prior spared no expense but it certainly did not compare to that necklace. "it's pretty. is it that malfoy boy or did they decide on someone else?"

NARCISSA GLANCED DOWN at the small parcel in her hands; it was lightweight and wrapped carefully in grey parchment that had a labeled tag pressed with a seal of the black family’s crest. more than obvious signs that showed her parents had sent it in, though, there were no names on the package itself. “bit early for christmas presents mum.” she mumbled to herself. there was a sour tinge in her voice when she spoke then, it sounded harsher than her usual soft tone of voice. 

While nothing ever seemed too far out of reach presents seemed almost pitiful and without purpose coming from their parents. Druella in particular was never kind hearted and as Bellatrix took a seat beside her sister, she could almost scoff at the package itself, a lack of signature written upon the parchment. Instead it was stamped almost harshly with a seal, it was tragically fitting. "It’s not going to open itself, Cissy."

child abuse tw: being the eldest child comes with it's perks and heavy cons. while she my be the highest regarded of her family, bella is punished the worst for her poor actions (if caught) it was heavily drilled into her as child and honestly her childhood wasn't super great. druella is probably a hard ass and while she'll never admit it, her mother frightens her. honestly got hit as a kid when she did things wrong. in simple terms she learned. 

has had a rebellious phase / is sorta in it??? it's just her??? except she hides it super well because she's somehow still very poised and sophisticated most of the time. it's a weird balance she maintains 

narcissa without question is her favorite sister (sorry andromeda) it may have something to do with her being the baby or some unspoken tension between andromeda and bella given how close they are in age and the pressure to succeed. usually calls narcissa, cissy or cissa tbh

could probably kill a man with her heels and would for narcissa. i feel like she and lucius don't get along and she probably would punch him given the chance.

idk if they do halloween at hogwarts (maybe??) but regardless bella loves it because the weird dark creepy shit kind of suits her. also watches really great horror movies 

wanted a pet snake but the school wouldn't allow it so she got a black cat in her third year instead who is named persephone and is the closest thing bella will probably ever accept to a child lmao

she tends to have decent intentions but she can sometimes come off as harsh and overly blunt bc she sort of is. it depends on whose she's talking too but i feel like her natural state is just,,,bitch ya feel

falls somewhere between cold bitch and loves (3) people with every fiber of her being
