Finally, alphabetdesankommens.de is online! These are the pages Elend Sheikhi and me did during the workshop. »Alphabet of Arrival« combines journalism with comics to address the topics of emigration and immigration differently. A as in Asylum, B as in Berlin or C as in Culture — journalists and comic artists from ten different countries report on how migration influences people and nations around the globe. »Alphabet of Arrival« is a project by the German Comics Association and is funded by the Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb). All comic reportages were produced during a workshop that took place in Hamburg from March 6 to 12, 2017.

I joined the comic journalism workhop “Alphabet des Ankommens” in Hamburg last week. It was an amazing experience to work on a comic reportage with Elend Shexi and to share stories and thoughts with all these exciting, talented, friendly people. Soon there will be a website showing our results!
Deutscher Comicverein made this week possible. Special thanks to Sascha Hommer, Lilian Pithan and Jul Gordon for their patience and support.
