They do this kinda thing to a lot of different things, not just plants. Humans always want to improve more and more, twisting nature into their own idea of what it should be. Even humans are selectively bred, technically. *nomming on grapes happily* look up Pugs online when you have the chance. Their selective breeding doesn't always improve the species.
