You can be on here and say like "This character got their house burned down as a consequence of leaving the stove on" and the fandom masses will descend on you like "We really shouldn't glorify house-burning-down as a consequence against characters. It's really problematic. It's really problematic to say house-burning-down is something people deserve. The narrative shouldn't have done that."

One of my favourite things when reading fanfiction is when you click with an author's style so much that you adore the fanfiction you're reading, and once it's over you need more. So you go to their page and hope that there's more for any fandom you might know- only there isn't any. They've written for other fandoms you aren't familiar with and never would've thought about before.

But you're down so bad for their style and talent that they got you wading in like:

I saw a post saying that Boromir looked too scruffy in FotR for a Captain of Gondor, and I tried to move on, but I’m hyperfixating. Has anyone ever solo backpacked? I have. By the end, not only did I look like shit, but by day two I was talking to myself. On another occasion I did fourteen days’ backcountry as the lone woman in a group of twelve men, no showers, no deodorant, and brother, by the end of that we were all EXTREMELY feral. You think we looked like heirs to the throne of anywhere? We were thirteen wolverines in ripstop.

My boy Boromir? Spent FOUR MONTHS in the wilderness! Alone! No roads! High floods! His horse died! I’m amazed he showed up to Imladris wearing clothes, let alone with a decent haircut. I’m fully convinced that he left Gondor looking like Richard Sharpe being presented to the Prince Regent in 1813

And then rocked up to Imladris a hundred ten days later like

Timelapse of me first struggling to use ClipStudioPaint and then making the cover for the Red Lights of Fridgit. (The AO3 is user locked now, so you'll have to have an account to view it because people were bypassing the "I'm willingly clicking to read this" and then complaining that it existed and they were reading it, which, you know, hot stove meet hand.)

This cover would've been a much easier process if I'd had access to Photoshop at the time as my muscle memory is for those shortcuts and whatnot, but such is life. There's some flaws with the cover that I would like to go back and fix now that I have photoshop (I did go back and make the background more blurry –– something I meant to do in the first place and forgot during the recording). We'll see where my attention span goes.

Also, in an ideal world, this would've had the song "El Tango de Roxanne" from Moulin Rouge, but I didn't have the file on my computer.

ao3 emails are the best emails to receive bc it’s either a comment or kudos on my work, a comment in reply to something i said on someone else’s work, or a new chapter/fic from a writer i’m subscribed to. you can never go wrong with an ao3 email. bless.

Me, wise, enlightened: Not so, neophyte. Have you considered all the exhaustive possibilities in which one of these characters simply has no idea what they are talking about, or better yet, is a fucking liar?
