Concrete Crack Repair
Cracks in concrete can be repaired. There are different types of concrete cracks, some cracks need an entire restoration but others only need a filler to repair it.
 Cracks that have the width of a hairline or less need to be sealed with epoxy resin. In most cases cracks larger than 5mm wide will require crack repair.
 If the crack is on an exterior surface you should patch it immediately before water infiltration damages the substrate underneath.
How to Repair Cracked Concrete?
There are three main methods for repairing cracked concrete without replacing the whole slab:
Epoxy injection
Crack fillers
Concrete patching
Epoxy injection
Is a process where epoxy resin is forced into the crack using pressure. This method is typically used for cracks that are less than 1/5″ wide. Epoxy resin is a very strong adhesive and will seal the crack completely.
Concrete crack filler
This work for non structural crack. They are easily available in any hardware store near you. Involves caulking the filler into the crack to stop any future damage from occurring. This can also prevent further deterioration of concrete where it’s needed most – around corners and edges.
Concrete patching
Is a process where a mixture of sand and cement (concrete) is forced into the crack, creating a smooth surface on both sides of the concrete. 
Patching concrete can be done for hairline-sized cracks and also for larger defects on an exterior slab.
Once it has cured properly, the patch will have to be ground down until it matches the surrounding area exactly, sanded smooth, cleaned out thoroughly with water to remove any remaining sand particles, then patched with primer paint.
What Is The Best Way To Fix Cracked Concrete?
There are two methods for repairing cracked concrete. This slab replacement and patching
Slab replacement
Is the process of completely removing the old slab and replacing it with a new one. This is typically done when there is extensive damage to the surface.
Patching
Is the process of repairing the damaged area by filling it in with fresh concrete or sealant. This is typically done when the crack is smaller than 12mm wide.

How To Lay Besser Blocks?
A Besser Block is a concrete block that is hollow, made of concrete, and shaped like a rectangle. Lines of Besser Blocks are meant to be stacked on top of one another to create walls. Each line is called a course. They are stuck together via mortar between blocks called joints and are usually reinforced with steel and/or concrete.
The standard size for a Besser block is 390mm long x 190mm high x 190mm wide which is able to stack with a 21mm gap and can be used in construction up to two storeys. The height, width and length vary from standard sizes, as well as the construction of the internal cavity; some may have steel bracings. Besser blocks are used on concrete foundations and on concrete slab construction.

Laying concrete blocks is very similar to laying bricks. It can be done by following a few simple steps.
Plan and draw in the area where you’ll be laying the blocks.

Make a mortar bed for the first course.
Put in the first block and check its height.
Prepare and set the second block.
Repeat for the third block, tap them into place, and check if they are level.
Reinforce and tie walls together when necessary.
Plan where you are laying the concrete blocks
After you know how large your blocks are and what your structure is going to look like, draw in the areas where you’ll be laying blocks down with chalk. This will serve as a guide for when you are actually working. 
Make a Mortar bed for the first course
Spread a layer of cement mixture, with a thickness of around 15mm and just a bit wider than the width of your blocks. Make a thick “perimeter” of mortar on your chalk as if to line the edges of your blocks. It’s better to use a little bit more than what you think you need. Use your trowel to make neater lines. 
Put in the first Besser block
Put the first block onto the mortar bed and make sure it is properly aligned. Use the story pole to check the height of the block. Gently push or tap the block into position until it matches the mark on the pole. If it accidentally gets too low, just pull it out, replace the mortar, and try again.
Set the second Besser block
The second block will require what is called an upright or a head joint. Mortar is placed on the surface where adjacent blocks meet in order to create a joint that sticks together with two blocks. Do this by spreading mortar on the ears of your block then smoothing and pressing it into the edges so that it doesn’t fall off. Set the second block. Take care to leave a little less than half an inch of joint space.
Repeat
Perform the same steps for the third block, and then clean out the excess mortar around your blocks. Use your level to lightly press the blocks into their position and make sure that the blocks are flat and even. Check that the blocks are even on the sides as well. 
Reinforce and Tie Besser Blocks
Steel reinforcement can be placed throughout the wall but is most necessary in retaining walls and sections where walls meet at perpendicular angles. Thin steel bars that act as reinforcement are embedded in mortar joints and through the cavities of the blocks.

WHat is a GPO Electrical Socket
In the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, a GPO refer to an electrical outlet that allows several appliances to be plugged into one socket.
 A single household may have several types of GPOs in its home including standard outlets, which are connected directly to the main power supply, and multiple sockets connected via a relay system.
WHat is a GPO?
A GPO stands for General Power Outlet and is an obsolete term for what is now called a ‘socket outlet’ or ‘power point’. It carries electricity from the main power supply to appliances.
It refers to an electrical socket that allows several appliances to be plugged into one connector.
The Australian standard AS3000, which is used in country Australia (but not metropolitan Sydney), defines GPOs as 3-pin flat pin 10 amp sockets like this one.
“GPO” is also used to refer to groups of multiple outlets connected by a relay or light switch system, often installed at venues such as hotels and airports for reasons of convenience.
These are defined instead as socket outlets (or S/O). There is no current international standard that covers these devices; though there are standards for electrical relays and power distribution systems.

Socket outlets (or S/O) are defined as “a single or group of outlets provided on a distribution board, with each outlet being separately controlled by on off-only switching means, and all of which are supplied through the one input line” (AS3000 – Australian Standard for Wiring Rules).

Relays

GPOs are comprised of relays or light switches that allow several appliances to be plugged into one socket outlet device by connecting them in series.
What Are Multiple Socket Outlets?
Multiple socket outlets (M/S O) are “outlet devices with more than one outlet per device” (AS3000 – Australian Standard for Wiring Rules).
A multiple socket outlet makes it possible to control power in groups, or at different levels. For example, you can turn the entire house’s power off by operating an M/S O located in your main breaker box; or you can turn off just a single socket outlet in your kitchen if you need only to use the kettle.
The latter is known as ‘isolating’ an M/S O; this means that all of its outlets will be turned off even though it may be connected to sockets with their own on-off switches.
One of the simplest types of M/S O is a light switch which allows you to control one particular socket from different rooms.

Building Classifications & Class – BCA
How are buildings classified?
In the Building Code of Australia (BCA), the National Construction Code (NCC) classifies buildings according to their primary use. Just like wind classifications, each classification comes with respective requirements with regards to safety, design, accessibility, etc. These technical specifications must be met by a building’s design.
Buildings are classified by number, from Class 1 to Class 10, some of which contain sub-classes. It can happen that a building is made up of parts with different functions.
In cases like these, the parts are individually classified. When a single building has multiple functions, it can also be given multiple classifications. 
Building Classifications
Class 1
The buildings in Class 1 are houses. In particular, they are standalone structures that serve as residences.
Two types of sub-class in Class 1:
Class 1a: any single residence, (house, townhouses or duplex, etc.)
Class 2a: a boarding or hostel type of residence housing not more than 12 individuals, with a maximum floor area of 300 sqm
Class 2
Apartment buildings are usually the ones in Class 2.
This classification contains residential buildings that have many units, where units are on different floors (Class 1 buildings can be multi-storey, but cannot have any other class of building above or below their residences aside from garages).
A one-storey residence with more than one unit with a common area could also fall under Class 2.
Class 3
The buildings in Class 3 are actually the same as the buildings in Class 1b, but bigger in size and have a higher capacity.
They are meant for long-term living of people that are not necessarily associated with one another. Common examples are larger boarding houses, hostels, dorms, and the like.
The parts of hotels, hospitals, schools, or jails where people live can also be sorted into Class 3. 
Class 4
Anything Class 4 is actually just a part of a larger building. More specifically, it is a dwelling that sits inside a primarily non-residential building.
Most often, the Class 4 area of a building is the only residence within the larger structure. It is always located within a building in Class 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9. 
Class 5
Office buildings that are in professional or commercial use go into Class 5.
Company offices, law or accounting firms, government buildings, etc. are all Class 5.
Class 6
Stores and restaurants of any kind would be listed in Class 6.
They are places where goods or services are sold to the public. Some common examples would be cafes, salons, supermarkets, malls, and the like.
Class 7
Buildings and areas for storage and parking. 
Two types of sub-class in Class 7:
Class 7a: parking lots
Class 7b: buildings that are used for either (1) storage or (2) the display of wholesale products
Class 8
Class 8 buildings are used for business operations, such as manufacturing, adjustment, servicing, cleaning or packaging, etc. of products.
Most often, these buildings are simply factories. Mechanic workshops, food production buildings, and scientific laboratories are also in Class 8. 
Class 9
Class 9 has three sub-classes, but they are all generally buildings that are used by the public.
Class 9a: these are healthcare buildings, such as hospitals or clinics (where people would need help in case the need for evacuation arises)
Class 9b: these are buildings where gatherings can occur for social, theatrical, political, religious, etc. purposes, such as schools, sports buildings, dance clubs, churches, train stations, etc.
Class 9c: homes for the aged
Class 10
Buildings in Class 10 are basically those that can’t house people. They can actually also just be structures. It also has three sub-classes:
Class 10a: single and double garage (3 cars or less), storage sheds, etc.
Class 10b: fences, retaining walls, masts, swimming pools, etc.
Class 10c: a private bushfire shelter on the premises of a Class 1a building (but not physically attached to it)
 Mixed-Use Buildings
As you probably noticed, a single structure can have parts that fall under different classes. A grocery building (Class 6) could have a parking area (Class 7a).
As a general rule, the different parts of the building will be classified individually unless it takes up less than 10% of the space of the floor that it is found on.
In those cases, it will just be put in the same class as the majority.
Multiple Building Classifications
There may also be cases where a single structure or a single part of the structure has multiple uses, and would therefore have more than one class. They may be classified as Class 5 / 6 or Class 6 / 7 and the like.
Many buildings are constructed for the purpose of renting out space to tenants, so flexibility is actually desirable.
What About Special Cases?
A general practitioner’s “office” is Class 5 unless it performs treatment that would cause patients to be temporarily unconscious or immobile (any building that does so would fall under Class 9a).
Car repair or service centers are actually Class 6 buildings, but parts of them could become Class 8 if they are used exclusively for certain mechanical or electrical processes. 
Labs are usually Class 8, but if they are attached to or found within a Class 9a building, then they will also be classified as Class 9a.
