Me Giving a Pressed Conference: our advocacy for the disabled must include the addict, the imperfect victim, those we despise; the right to autonomy and life cannot devolve into a popularity contest
Reporter I Hate (Not Sexual Tension): Does that include all the attendees of the Bored Ape NFT event who went blind
Me: *Blood streaming from my nostrils and eyes* david, it includes everyone

if you concede that the new york times is a genocidal state propaganda mouthpiece regarding palestine but surely is mostly trustworthy about syria, ukraine, venezuela etc then i don’t know what to tell you at this point

being someone who's passionate about their interests when you're a horror fan really is a special layer of hell because every interaction you have with another person where the conversation turns to your hobbies and personal entertainments is a trial where if you show too much unrepentant glee at getting an opportunity to talk about your preferred subject you get to watch them mentally move you onto their list of untrustworthy individuals to avoid in the future in real time

every time i see someone call kirk and spock the oldest ship, i'm filled with the urge to go "hmm actually the holmes and watson girlies have been here for a hundred years now", and i refrain because i know the natural conclusion of this game is gilgamesh and enkidu

forgive me, I’ve been reading Orwell again:
the idea that there are wrong ways to think paralyses the young and those who want to get into activism, i think. They are scared that they don’t know everything, that they won’t say the right thing.
For example: my cis friends who don’t know trans people— but who are generally liberal, tolerant, whatever— are worried they’ll say the wrong thing to trans people and thus immediately be shunned, not realizing that they should be concerned about approaching the topic with empathy and understanding and a willingness to make mistakes and learn (maybe they also because they don’t know what it looks like to engage with the topic beyond basic notions of respect, but i digress).
some of the kindest, most engaged, and most supportive people i know don’t use all our elegant western academic words to talk about their struggles, their work. and they don’t pretend to have all the answers either.
mary oliver says we don’t have to be good. don’t fret about hypothetical future repentance for being ungoodthinkful.

when im playing a game alone and theres danger i am quiet and stoic, by necessity. when im playing with friends and theres danger i start screaming and sqwuaking like a chimp to communicate over long distance that there is danger and i am distressed. This is because humans are social animals who evolved to live in groups and signal to eachother when herobrine is there
