BUG OF THE DAY
BotD 11 - 04/01/24 This is the Alfalfa Weevil

These long-nosed insects are quite a sight to behold! Alfalfa weevils belong to the family Curculionoidea, which is a very fancy way of saying Weevil- as one might have guessed. These unique insects can be found throughout Europe, and mainly pop up during late spring. As their name might suggest, these beetles like to chow down on alfalfa sprouts, and are considered heavily destructive pests. Nevertheless, these charming beetles have become quite popular due to their unique looks and- most notably- their very long "nose". They are certainly very incredible!
Happy April fools day!

vincent, an inventor in a story I’m working on!! reblog to support an artist or to proclaim your love for dapper earwigs. or both
ID: an anthropomorphic earwig in shades of reddish brown and yellow. there are four pointed stars accentuating his ridiculously babygirlish eyes. he is wearing a white long sleeved shirt, a dark grey tie, and a vest which is yellow with orange vertical stripes. His pants are dark grey and his shoes, designed to fit his insect paws, are a lighter grey. He has a long segmented tail with yellow pincers on the end, and he is using two lavender grey forearm crutches, and is leaned forward slightly, propped up on them. END ID

The bug squad!
Genuinely I was excited to work on these and share them publicly- these are some of my top favorite bug guys out there. (There may be a theme of points and pincers)
I know very few people will ever see them, but I'm still happy to have made them.
