The Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth
Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there.
If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.
Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.
Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.
Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.
Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
Do not harm little children.
Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.
When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.

Police Shoot Unarmed Man and his 6-Year-Old Autistic Son in the Head Multiple Times Killing Son
As of Thursday morning, at least 834 people had been shot and killed by American police officers so far this year.
Six-year-old Jeremy David Mardis is the youngest among them.
The autistic first-grader was sitting in the front passenger seat of a car being driven by his father, Chris Few, in Marksville, La., when city marshals “allegedly” attempted to serve the man a warrant about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night. But when checked with the County Clerks office, no warrant could be found in the database.
Police claim Few fled, eventually turning down a dead-end street. And that Few then attempted to back his vehicle out, striking officers’ cruisers, prompting an exchange of gunfire between the officers and driver that left him hospitalized and his son dead.
However, An official briefed on the shooting said that Few was unarmed when two officers opened fire, shooting between 13 and 18 bullets combined. Five of the officers’ bullets pierced Jeremy’s body, Mayeux said, with the two fatal shots hitting him in the head and chest. That official said it is unclear if the shooting was captured on camera.
The police involved in the shooting all had criminal records including rape.
After the officers names were released, It didn’t take long for local press to uncover extensive rap sheets for both officers:
Derrick Stafford, the officer indicted for rape, also has five pending civil suits against him for various complaints of excessive force, including breaking the arm of a 14-year-old girl on a school bus as well as assaulting and pepper-spraying a 15-year-old boy at a Fourth of July celebration.
Norris Greenhouse Jr., the other officer implicated in the murder of 6-year-old Jeremy Mardis, is named in several of the same suits for acting in tandem with Stafford.
Louisiana State Police announced on Wednesday that they had launched an investigation into the incident at the request of the Marksville Police Department.

Just a friendly reminder that most of British Columbia is unceded territory (Around 90%).
What does that mean? Glad you asked. The majority of Canada is built on Treatied land, meaning the Government had agreed with the Indigenous people of their respective regions to make use of those lands during the establishment of Canada as a Settler Country (Needless to say, the government has never, and I mean Never, kept up their side of these deals).
So, since British Columbia is unceded, the government, in municipal to national levels, has never attempted to settle the land and formally take sovereignty of the land from the Indigenous peoples through the signing of treaties. BC provincial government is literally occupying this province. Colonization never ended, it’s happening Right Now. These lands are still being occupied and actively settled without consent of indigenous people.

I know you have good intentions, but
Equality isn’t something you can just believe in and make happen, It’s not just a flat ground everyone can stand on, Because before equality can happen you need to understand that some people have been degraded, harmed, silenced, and ignored for all of history. If you want to talk about equality, you need to appreciate the people who work twice as hard, twice as much. That’s why feminism is about women, that’s why saying “they” is more important than what you think is grammatically correct, and that’s why #blacklivesmatter isn’t “reverse racism”. If you really believe in equality, stop using it as a weapon to erase the struggles of the people that have to work the hardest for it

I needed this right now.
PTSD as a result of abuse in early development.
PTSD is a chronic illness and depending on your history, it might never be gone completely. Especially if that trauma was ongoing and happened young, before your brain is fully formed. And thats pretty much any age under 25.
25!? Yeah. So the reason the shit that happened when you were a pre-teen or a teenager? That’s why it’s still not ok. That’s why you might not be experiencing your expected results from therapy, because it’s not enough to treat your trauma as though you are/were an adult. Popular theory states that it’s only in early childhood development that ongoing trauma or abuse* forces physical and permanent changes in the brain, because it’s still forming. But the fact is that human brains aren’t fully formed until adulthood (which can be between 18 and 25 - the same reason you can’t get car insurance till then and why they say you shouldn’t drink) and this extreme trauma forces the brain into what is essentially a ‘reset’ state, where it then adapts to the environment of constant abuse and is harmed in exactly the same way. (*Abuse can be physical, sexual, emotional, mental, or environmental (neglect, emotional neglect etc), and/or being witness to extreme ongoing abuse of someone else.)
So what’s the damage?
Well there is a few things that happen.
Trauma affects what children anticipate and focus on (y’all are children till you’re adults in terms of brains remember), and how you can view and understand the information that you receive.
Changes in how you perceive threats because of trauma end up being expressed in how you think, feel, behave and even how you regulate your biological systems.
This presents in problems with
self regulation (being able to start or stop doing something when you think you should, overeating or over-doing anything really is a good example of this)
aggression against themselves and others
problems with attention and dissociation
physical problems (I will expand upon this later)
difficulties in self concept (who am I, what am I, believing you have worth, believing you are a person, etc)
and the capacity to negotiate satisfactory interpersonal relationships. (Why do I keep ending up in abusive relationships, why can’t I make friends or connect with people etc)
Trauma is so powerful because the amygdala starts functioning almost immediately after birth; children rapidly are able to experience fear and assess danger. Babies get scared even when they can’t think properly because of this.
Basically, early abuse and neglect can affect the development of the limbic system which makes individuals with traumatic histories to become highly sensitive to sensory input, which is known as hypervigilance.
Your amigdala is part of the limbic system that controls instinct, your “lizard brain” that keeps you safe and controls your “fight, flight, freeze, or feign” instinct. (The amigdala and the limbic system are so heavily affected by this hypervigilance that I am going to write a whole nother post just on it’s effects on the body.)
SO. We now know PTSD from your developmental years is more damaging than if the same abuse occured later in life.
That’s why regular therapy focusing only on CBT might not be enough, that’s why you might not be fully recovered when you feel like you should be. And there are heaps of us with this shit. So you’re not alone, and now that we know why, we’re going to get through it.

No, I’m serious, if women all got together and went into electrical engineering or automotive repair en masse, then ten years later people would be talking about how it was a “soft field” and it would pay proportionately less than other fields.
Likewise, if men moved en masse to bedeck themselves in sparkles and make-up, then suddenly you’d get a bunch of editorials talking about how classy they look.
None of these things are inherently masculine or feminine; none of these things inherently elevate you or drag you down. But whatever women are seen to do is automatically seen as being inherently more frivolous than anything men do. And shaming women for not pigeonholing themselves into a narrow range of acceptable “masculine” behaviours is just going to result in the goalposts getting moved once again.

To be honest, I kind of feel like my life is falling apart, and I'm the only one to blame. I push my friends away, and then get bitter that they never stop making efforts to hang out. I am an enemy to myself. All I have is my dog, and I'm surprised he even wants to be around me.

A First Nation in northwestern Ontario has declared a state of emergency after receiving a do not consume water advisory from Health Canada officials February 12.
The advisory is step above a boil water advisory and was ordered due to traces of radionuclide found in the local water source and higher than normal lead levels.
Northwest Angle #33 First Nation Chief Darlene Comegan said in a statement that her community is tired of being ignored by both provincial and federal governments and is calling on them to take immediate action to help.
“In light of the Federal government’s plan to ensure clean drinking water for First Nations … we are living in third world conditions and it is just not acceptable. It is beyond Chief Comegan’s understanding that we can be forgotten by everyone,” the statement read.
The chief and other leadership met with a cancer study team in Toronto last week to come up with a plan to address the high cancer rates found in the community and surrounding area believed linked to their water source.
“It’s a very scary issue. Our members always knew there was an issue with the water,” said Norma Girard, land manager for Northwest Angle #33. “How many more of our people do we have to see suffer and die from cancer?”

Not sure how I feel about kinda sorta having to stay home because I promise too many things to too many people, that kind of ends up limiting my life. Really just want a place and a life. But really feel like when I get a place, I'll have to work all the time to pay for it which would give me no life in return. Ah shit. Tumblr rant. Hello. I spent my rent money on a $20 bottle of red wine, and watched the One Man Metal documentary. It just made me sad. So instead I wrote a sad banjo song, because that's all I really know how to do.
