Just Smile (George Weasley x reader
IMPORTANT EDIT PLEASE READ!: told y'all I would one day return to this mess..... Anyway you can find an updated and waaaaaaaaay better version here: @the-writers-reader
Requested by: @aboutpotter
Prompts: #18: Donât just stand there looking at me
and
#31: Youâre probably wondering how I got here
They requested a little Angst and fluff. I myself have never really wrote using either of those (at least I donât think I have⌠*goes back to review everything Iâve ever written*) but as I go along I feel like I will get better⌠I also feel that when I come back and look at this story like a year from now Iâm going to be in the next room a cringing mess. But now that all thatâs out the way, I hope you enjoy!
(S/n)= sister's name
Warnings: Angst (?), fluff (?), *swearing*, and a bit o violence
If George could describe her in one word he would choose sullen. But in truth, it was just one out of many. Intelligent, conscientious, logical, anxious, beautiful, but sullen was is one of the top. The reason why: he had NEVER seen her smile. He had seen almost everyone at Hogwarts smile at least once. Even Snape. But never her. And he wondered why. Â So he went to someone that would know the answer- (S/n). But all she did was sigh and say that things happen.
Thats when he decided to make it his personal mission to make (Y/n) smile. But not matter how many pranks he pulled on her, or jokes, dirty or corny, he told they wouldnât even grin. Since (S/n) wouldnât tell him he decided to ask her directly. But the only response he got was the cold shoulder which hurt⌠A LOT.
As she walked away he yelled, âI Â SWEAR TO YOU, BY TIME IâM OUT OF HERE YOU WILL SMILE!â
And what reason did she have to smile in the first place. She could give you a long list of reasons no to smile. Being a muggleborn in SLYTHERIN why her sister was chillin with the twins in Gryffindor was not an easy task. What makes it worse is that they have no one.
George takes his seat at the Gryffindor table across from Fred and (S/n). Groaning, he lays his head down on the table with a âthudâ. âWhatâs wrong with you, George?â (S/n) asked writing something down with Fred watching her paper intensely.
He sets his chin on the table so he could look at her. âYour sister. How can someone go that long without smiling?â
âSheâs had it rough.â
âSo you have said. What exactly do you mean by that?â
(S/n) sighs and sets down her quill. Neatly she folds her hands on the table like she was getting ready to spill some dark shit. âHer friends stabbed her in the back.â
George was shocked but it was Fred that let it be known. âWhat! Why?â
âItâs not possible to be friends with a muggleborn and date someone in the same house as you.â The twins looked confused. (S/n) rolled her eyes. âHer friends ditched her so they could get dates.â
The twins nodded their head understanding. Fred and (S/n) went back to eating (and in (S/n)s case- eating and writing) but George just stared at the table thinking. Suddenly, he stood up and started walking off. âWhere are you going?â (S/n) asked.
âIâll be right back. I have to go do something.â Fred and (S/n) were sure he was leaving the Great Hall but he had other plans. The hall went silent as he approached the Slytherin table. There wasnât even any chatter coming from the professors as they watched with great interest. George could feel several eyes on him but he could care less.
(Y/n) looked up from her book to see why the hall had gone silent and was suddenly alarmed when she saw George walking towards her. All attention was on the two of them now.
âWhat are you doing, Weasley?â she whisper-yelled.
âWeasley? And to think we were friends.â That was enough to get a few people going. Whispers started to be exchanged throughout the Great Hall.
(Y/n) scoffs, âI donât need or want friends.â A series of âooooâs traveled around the hall.
âFine, but you need you family. Your sister needs you.â He lied.
That caught the Slytherins attention. She loved her sister more than anything and would do anything for her. âDid she say why?â
George smirked. He knew he had her now. âShe said it was important.â
Sighing, she gathered up their stuff and followed George. The Hall went silent again to the poing where you could hear a pen drop. She sat down next to George due to that being the only available seat. âYou have something important to tell me?â (Y/n) asked. George suddenly grabbed her arm. She looked at him suspiciously but didnât question it.
âUm,â she set her cup down and folder her hands. That was her thing- folding her hands before she spoke, âno, but I assume thatâs what George told you to get you over here.â
(Y/n)âs jaw tightened in anger. She tried not to let it show but (S/n) noticed. âIt is.â
âOh, come on, (Y/n). Stop being such a grouch.â
âOh, so Iâm a grouch now, eh?â (Y/n) said slightly offended.
(S/n)s face softens. âNo. Itâs just- I havenât seen a smile since the incident last year.â
(Y/n) sighs. âTrust me, (S/n), I have no reason to smile.â She stands up and slings her bag over her shoulder. Silently (pronoun) leaves not looking back though George prayed she would.
She never did.
George felt like this was all his fault. âGuys, I think Iâm going to call it a night.â
âThis early?â (S/n) asked. She may have been the most clueless person at this table but Fred knew that face anywhere. He was going to follow (Y/n).
âYeah, I actually have a big test tomorrow so I better get an early night.â
(S/n)s eyes went wide. âWE HAVE A TEST TOMORROW??!?!?!? BDJIBUDHIHYSFTDRTDFGH-â Fred motioned to George to leave and that he would take care of it.
What a nerd. But they loved her for it. (I love how when I wrote that part I got a message from my school about a Biology Exam that I knew nothing about and I freak but it ended up not applying to me)
George stopped to listen to what he was sure was voices. They were coming around the corner. When he peeked around he saw what he was looking for. He also saw someone that wasnât supposed to be there. Graham Montague.
âGet the hell off me, Montague!â (Y/n) shouted trying to shove him away only for him to pin her roughly against the wall(FREEZE PERVERTS CAUSE THIS AINT WHAT YOU THINK).
âSo you think its ok to just shove me out of the way you little, mudblood? Show some damn respect to those that are above you. Now, I think itâs best if you apologize for what you did to my friend.â
Now downright furious the girl makes a split second decision. Or should I say spit-second decision. Graham backs off a bit and wipes the spit off his cheek. Snarling, he backhands her causing her to drop her bag and fall to the ground.
âHEY!â George yelled gaining the attention of Graham and his gang.
âOh, great, just what we need a Weasle-â Before he could finish George socked him in the jaw causing him to stumble.
âNever touch her again.â George growled daring one of them to try to make a move.
Graham scoffed and turned his snake like eyes towards (Y/n). âThis isnât over, mudblood.â He declared as he turned to stomp off with his gang hot on his heels.
George turned to (Y/n) to ask if she was alright but before he could ask he noticed the tears welling in her eyes. Alarmed, George walks over and starts inspecting her only for (Y/n) to push him away. âDO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT YOUâVE DONE?â she scoffs, âno you donât. Youâve just made my life hell is what youâve done. What they did just now was considered nice compared to what theyâve done to other people.â
â(Y/n), I was just trying to-â
âOh save it! We canât all be heros. Just⌠just leave.â She turns her head away waiting for him to leave. But he doesnât. âWell? What are you waiting for? Donât just stand there looking at me! Leave!â But George doesnât budge.
âWhy are you still here?!â George doesnât know. Why is he still here? Instead of leaving he engulfs her in a hug. (Y/n) struggles a bit for the contact and wanting to get out of there but George was stronger and not to mention taller.
âPlease donât fight me.â His voice cracks. (Y/n) pauses.
âThen let me go.â she hisses. George obeys this time with a sigh. With a sad expression and a broken heart, he watched her walk away.
-------
âI thought you were calling it a night.â (S/n) says with a confused face. Her face goes to confusion to one of pure spite as George tells them exactly what happened.
âWell, I say we bloody push him back.â Fred said once George was done with his story.
âI doubt that would make it any better, Freddie.â (S/n) replied.
âWell, obviously, (S/n), thatâs why I have a very well thought out plan.â
âPlan?â
âYep! You see, and and Georgie here found something last week and we looked at each other and thought âthis could come in handyâ and it seems it will.â
She looked between the twins confused. âBut to do this we need you help.â George said in a pleading way.
âMy help?â
âYes! You see we have noticed that Graham Montauge has taken a special liking to you.â Fred said matter of factly.
âHuh?â
âHe fancies you.â George concluded.
âWhat? Youâre joking right?â She asks, her cheeks heating up. The twins grin. She looks between them again. âYa know what, I donât even want to know details, just tell me what I need to do.â
------
Tears ran down (Y/n)s face as she thought about what happened. She couldnât help but thing that if she wouldnât have left the table then she wouldnât have ran into Graham and then none of this would have happened. She was so caught up in her thought that she didnât pay much attention when the other side of her bed dipped down and someone snaked their hands around her torso. But she could care less. It was actually a bit comforting to know that at least some imaginary person at least cared. âWhy canât he understand that it would be easier for both of us if he just left me alone?â She asked the person as she stared down at her feet.
âWell itâs probably you donât try to make him understand.â (Y/n) jumps up. She didnât expect anyone to answer back. She turned around to find a tall figure with blazing red hair. And⌠in the girls dormitory? She couldnât make out which twin it was through her blurry vision but assumed it was Fred. George wouldnât even consider sneaking up here after the way she had treated him.
âYouâre probably wondering how I got here.â
She let out a shaky laugh. âA little bit, yes.â
He stared at her wordlessly. So that was what her smile was like. Sure it wasnât much but it was beautiful even in the state it was in.
âFred? You good there?â
He snaps out of it. âOh! Yeah!â Wait Fred? Oh! I guess she canât see because she was crying. âUh, George told us about what Graham did so we cracked a plan.â
âYou mean you PRANKED him?!?!?â She asked now alarmed. As far as she knew she could kiss her sister goodbye and say hello to her new home: her grave.
âOf sorts. Last week me and George found a cabinet that makes things disappear, and ya see, Graham has a thing for that sister of yours. So,naturally, we got her involved. She lured Graham into the closet where we were waiting. Then, we forced him to give up the password to the Slytherin common room, which he wouldnât do unless we put him in the cabinet. Of course, he wasnât at all intimidated but then we demonstrated what it did which broke him. We originally promised to to throw him in but things happen and people change their minds.â
âSoooooooooo⌠where is he now?â
He shrugs, âWho knows. He could be anywhere in the school.â
âThat still doesnât explain how you got up here without anyone seeing or helping you.â
âI guess I have that Weasley charm.â He winked with a flip of his nonexistant long locks. âSure, the girls were confused and very angry when I walked in but I buttered them up just enough so they smuggled me up here so there you have it.â
It took a moment but everything processed. âBut, to be honest, youâre the last person I expected up here. Why didnât George or (S/n) come instead?â
He looked absolutely offended but brushed it off. âNot important. Why were you crying just a minuet ago? I donât thing George would be very happy seeing you like this.â Which was true, it broke Georgeâs heart to see her like this but he couldnât tell why. Deep down he knew he always liked her a but but he always denied and pushed it away. It was like this time he couldnât.
âYour brother, actually⌠Swear to me you wonât tell anyone what you hear.â
George crossed his heart and opened his ears so he wouldnât miss a word.
âAlright, donât tell him I said this but he makes my life a living hell⌠and I canât help but love him for it.â
âLove him?â
She lets out another shaky laugh and bites her bottom lip. âThere it was again.â George thought. âYeah. I fancy him I suppose and he makes it so damn hard no to.â She pauses. âWhy am I telling this to you again?â
He laughs a bit and stands up, towering over her. âI donât know but you should smile more.â
Her eyebrows knit together. âWhy should I-â
âBecause it makes it hard to fancy you too.â Her vision was totally clear now and only then did she realize who she had just spilled out her deepest darkest secret to. âG-George! I-â she tried to say something but ended up a studdering mess. What was she supposed to even say?
He cut her off with a peck on the lips. It was short, sweet and just enough to leave her in a state of shock. He smirked seeing what he had done to her. â I told you I would make you smile, beautiful.â He winked before calmly leaving (Y/n) standing there like a idiot.
OH THANK GOD IM FINALLY DONE. I started writing this on monday in class and the very same time that I started the teacher assigned us a project to write a childrens book (ages 8-10) on a topic we were assigned. I got cellular respiration⌠i couldnât even explain to my mom what that was. That and someone that I was very close to died the same day i decided to finish this so if it like going everywhere and whatnot THATS WHY. I actually have one that I wrote awhile back that Iâll think I will probably post sometime this week so be looking for that. Peace!

A Piece of Paper (Fred Weasley x Reader)
Requested by: @themagicafox
Iâm sorry if this is like super bad it was all I could think of for some reason. I had to get a friend to help me with the last part so tell me what you think about it!
25. Youâd be late for your own funeral
27. Why do you have that look on your face
Fred Pov
I donât know why but if I find a class to be absolutely boring I will immediately fall asleep. Especially today. I was halfway asleep when a door creaked and a figure sat beside me. âYouâre late.â I tell (y/n) as she gets stuff out to take notes. Iâve known (y/n) since, well, birth really. Sheâs what really helped us get our title as professional pranksters and helped us keep our grades up. We couldnât have even thought of half of our pranks without her.
âYouâre one to speak, Freddie.â She says as she starts writing what Professor McGonagall was currently lecturing us about.
âOh please, (n/n), youâd be late for our own funeral.â She stops writing and looks at me, pressing her lips into a thin line. She looks at me for a good minuet. I could feel my cheeks heating up. She giggles a bit and goes back to her writing. I could feel my cheeks heat up more with that little action.
Sheâs had this on effect me since probably our third year. George always picks on me about it but at the same time he tries really hard to get me to tell her but, honestly, I didnât know how I would. Sheâs such an amazing and beautiful person. Not to mention her brains and humor. Trust me when I say that she is more than perfect.
âWhereâs your brother?â She whispers glancing at me.
âOh, uh, he didnât feel too good this morning so he stayed in bed.â A lie. We had a serious conversation last night after (Y/n) went to bed.
Flashback to last night
âNight guys.â
âNight (Y/n)â Me and George said at the same time as we watched (Y/n) climb up to her dorm to go to bed. I must have watched a little too long because a hand was suddenly being waved in front of my face.
âHuh?â I asked tearing my gaze away.
âI said when and how are you going to ask her out? You do have a plan, rightâ
âUh, no.â I said slouching in my chair.
âOh come on Fred you have to.â He implored.
âNo, George, I donât have to.â
âActually, you do. At least, you better before Diggory does.â
I shook my head. I must have not heard him right. âWait, what?â
âIt canât be just me. Iâve heard Diggory has been trying to make moves towards her.â He smirked.
I could feel my heart speed up. I took deep breaths to try to calm myself down but they didnât seem to work. I was in full panic mode. âI- I- I- gotta tell her asap then! B-But how?! What if sheâs already fallen for Cedric? What if Iâm not good enough? What if-â
George stood up and stopped my pacing. When did I start pacing again? âOk here we go. Youâll figure out a way, I just know it. Remember what (Y/n) says when we struggle with our homework or we decide to do something that could permanetly damage our records? âYouâre smarter than thatâ and I believe you are and youâll get over your fear and tell her. But I have a feeling that youâll chicken out if Iâm there and Iâll end up doing it so hereâs what weâre gonna do: Iâm going to stay here tomorrow so you can have her to yourself all day and then youâll tell her!â He stops to take a breath. âUnderstand?â
I nod my head slowly, the panic starting to fade. âGreat! Iâll see ya tomorrow then!â He beamed before racing up to his dorm leaving me alone in the common room.
I stood there for a solid 10 minutes staring into the dying fire and thinking of ways to tell (y/n) how I felt. And then it hit me. Literally. Someone left the window open and a piece of paper flew into my face. Oh yeah. Iâve totally got this.
End Flashback and Fast foward to the next class
I messed with the folded piece of paper in my pocket dreading yet anxious for lunch.
Youâve got this Fred.
George will fix it if it goes wrong.
But it wonât go wrong.
Only 5 minutes.Â
Damn. Why is it so hot in here?
I clutched the paper as we were dismissed. I practically ran to the Great Hall. All I wanted to do was truly get this over with so I could finally feel free. We had a thing where we would wait for each other outside the Great Hall so we could all find a place together. Lucky me her class was close to the Great Hall so she was always the first there.
She was leaning against the wall with watchful eyes that lit up when she spotted me. âHungry, Freddie? You seemed in a hurry to get here.â
âI was actually trying to get to you.â I said. I could feel sweat start to form on the back of my neck.
âMe? Well Iâm flattered. Itâs rude to keep a lady waiting you know.â She joked as she turned to go in. I caught her arm to stop her. Calmly she turned around. God if only this woman knew the effect she has on me.
âI actually have something for you.â
âFor me? Well what is it?â She asked like a kid on their birthday.
I hesitantly pull the piece of paper out of my pocket. Her eyes light up even more as she takes it and opens it. Her hungry eyes take in each word. Her face slowly starts to drop, She looks at me as I look away in complete embarrassment. âFreddie,â I cringe, âis this true?â
I sigh. âEvery word. I remembered when we were kids we used to write letter around the room to each other and then when you moved letters were the only way we could contact each other until we started school here. I remember once I wrote you a poem and you sent me this long letter telling me about how much you loved it and about how you hung it up on your wall and I thought âThis girl right here is something elseââ I glanced up at her to see her shocked expression. âWhy do you have that look on your face?â My shoes had suddenly become the most interesting things in the world. I could hear her breathe out a laugh. Way to go Fred ya big goof. I
âIf I know anything, Fred Weasley, itâs that Iâve waited to see something like this from you for a long time.â
I look in her shining (e/c) eyes surprised. âWait, what?â
A smile grows on her lips. âI love you, Fred Weasley.â
Iâm not sure how to describe what I felt at that moment. Shock that those words came out of her mouth. Anger because that was too easy. Or just downright happy.
âB-but what about Diggory?â
She scrunched up her face. âDiggory? Ha! You donât seriously believe that petty gossip do you? Besides,â she pulls me down to her level by my tie, âI have me a much better man.â She says witha kiss on my cheek before she skips into the Great Hall. I stand there in shock at what just happened. It takes a minuet before I come back to my senses and chase after her. And all it took was a letter.
Dear (y/n),
Roses are red
Violets are blue
I hope you like me
Cause I like you
This is a poem of how I feel
Filled with secrets I shall reveal
I love your eyes
I love your hair
Almost everything about you I adore
Donât think this is the end
Iâve written so much more
The way I feel when Iâm next to you is so wonderful
I feel warm
I feel safe
I wish I could be with you always
Iâve wanted to tell you this for a while now
I just didnât know how
I donât care if these feelings arenât mutual
Iâm glad that you know
It makes me feel more open
Your best friend, Fred
