As it turns out, Herobrine is an actual username on Minecraft, confirming he’s real. I know this because Mineimator can go through minecraft java and grab the currently used skin of pretty much any java player ever created. And it turns out Herobrine is real, and he is currently wearing a cat onesie, and words can not express my fucking confusion.

So we have Ghast angst now, apparently

During this Live we learned that ghasts:

Are biological creatures

that they have infant forms (that appear to have external gills like salamanders)

that they rely on water for their life cycle to complete

that, related to #3, they like chomping on snowballs

that they're neutral and even friendly when not dehydrated like a frog in summer

In addition to the points in the graphic:

Flat faces with the eyes at the front, like many amphibians

smooth skin

mouth that looks tiny until opened (have you seen an axolotl or caecilian with its mouth open?)

fireballs may be analogous to skin and saliva-based weapons in amphibians

has zero mercy

cannot aim at all

makes sounds quite like the axolotl when you think about it

operates on 1.5-2 brain cells at all times

... We may be able to conclude that ghasts are amphibians.

If we look at this phylogenetically, then we may be able to speculate that ghasts are highly derived (specialized) temnospondyls, which are huge prehistoric amphibians who were like 25% mouth.

"helps you build really big structures, something that will make you build a completely new relationship with an existing mob, starting with a new block in soul sand valleys. it's a dried ghast"

you pick it up, take it into the overworld, and put it in water. after a few days, a ghastling is spawned!

the ghastling just floats around like a little balloon, it will imprint on other players and mobs and follow them around before getting bored. "this one will not spit fireballs, but you can feed it with snowballs!" when it grows up, it turns into a "happy ghast"

YOU CAN FLY ON THE HAPPY GHAST OH MY GOD OH MY GOD

there is a new feature, a locator bar, when you're on the ghast, which will point out where other players are. up to 4 players can ride the happy ghast.

the next update with the new mob variants, "spring to life" is coming out on march 25th!
