Monument in Amaiur.
From the 13th to the 16th century, it existed in the Kingdom of Navarre a union of kights, lords, priests, and farmers called the Union of Infanzones. These people fought for the defense of the old ways and traditions of the Kingdom against any royal law - or unfair behaviour of the noblemen - that may destroy them: they didn’t obey the King but just let him know their requests.
Since they enjoyed a huge popular support, the Infanzones used to be harassed and attacked - sometimes even murdered - by land owners and nobles. However, their enemies found a way to win: little by little, the Union was filled with more and more noblemen that fought only for their own benefits, destroying it from the inside. By the 15th century it was already an official organization under King’s rule that solely chased after thieves. One century later the Union of Infanzones disappeared since it wasn’t needed anymore.
Their motto - as you can see engraved on the stone - was “Pro libertate patria gens libera state”, which is Latin for “Stand up freely, people, for your homeland’s liberty”.

I can’t find any personal meaning in the fact that the very elements my body is composed of were forged in the heart of a star, because the same is true for lots of things. We are made of stardust, but so is dog shit.
