what do you mean "uyghur genocide narrative isn't backed up by reliable sources"? there's a wikipedia article full of sources? is every single one of them unreliable?
Wikipedia (at least the English one, I don't know about any of the others) places undue value and importance on Western media sources. It is very easy for someone to compile a list of sources that only cites Western media and then present this as a totally unbiased and balanced narrative when constructing a Wikipedia article.
Here is an actually balanced list of sources for investigating the situation in Xinjiang in more depth:

everyone in the world is either a democrat or a republican. everyone in the whole wide world is a democrat and a republican and america is the largest and most populous country in the world and america is easily the most culturally diverse country in the world because the middle class white people in my state (like a little country) are very different than the middle class white people over there (another little country, once more called a "state") and you could never understand how bad it is in america, the main country in the world. where are you from again? it's bad in america and america is bad but the way that america is run is the only way a country could possibly be run unfortunately. i don't like it but it's the only right way for a country to be run and you don't get it because the main victims of the main country are all here and you aren't. where are you from again? they never told me about that place. i don't think you get that real people live in america. probably because you're a republican. real people live in america and real people are hurt by america but what can you do? god said america has to be like this. god said this because god is real so god is american. you don't get it because you're over there and we're all here in america, the realest country in the world. where are you from again? how can you talk like this with what's happening in america? you're a democrat, right? where are you from again? my country is so large it stretches over yours and presses down hard. it's not my fault that they never told me about that place. my country covers the world. you don't understand how bad this will be for real people in the real world, the first world, the only world. they never told me—where in america are you from again?

That time police peed on food for hungry children...
Bobby Seale Checks Food Bags, 1972 - Howard Erker
Free Breakfast for Children Program and The People's Free Food Program, 1969-1980.
In the early years up to 36 programs were running nationwide, feeding tens of thousands of children and poor families. The great success of this program was viewed as a threat by FBI director J Edgar Hoover:
"Hoover recognized that through the program the Panthers captured the loyalty of many black children by giving them free breakfasts. He was also angry that the breakfast program won liberal whites’ and moderate blacks’ support for the Panthers. Hoover perversely justified FBI attempts to destroy the program because it “is potentially the greatest threat to efforts by authorities to destroy what it [the Black Panther Party] stands for.” The FBI’s attempts to destroy the program included sending forged letters to stores to discourage them from donating food, spreading rumors that the food was poisoned, and even raiding sites while children ate."
And then there's such as this:
Despite such as this, the programs continued helping people in need for many years.
The Seattle chapter of the Black Panther party was the last to hold out, members managing to continue the breakfast program until around 1980, even after the chapters own demise in 1977.
The Black Panther's food programs directly led to the development of the national school breakfast program, and has inspired community based revivals ever since.
Also:
Other less well known services also existed included a Free Shoe Program, and the People's Free Clothing Program which provided quality clothing to Black communities. This program helped children get winter clothing to attend school and helped adults find suitable attire when seeking employment.

I know that many people have shared the Shehab family's old campaign, which was recently frozen by GoFundMe after raising more than €78K in donations. (See this post for information.)
They now have a NEW campaign, the link above, but because they had to start over, as of 11:30 GMT on 14 November 2024, they are only up to $1,005 CAD / $100,000 CAD.
Fahed (@fahedshehab-new) and Reem urgently need to get a new tent that will keep their children warm in the winter. (Their current tent will not.) The Shehabs have set a short-term goal of $5,055 CAD for this purpose. Right now, the family still needs at least $4,050 CAD (around $3,000 USD) to reach this short-term goal. (The odd amount is to make sure they can cover the transfer and bank fees.)
Please help!

Can yall stop ignoring posts of palestinian people’s fundraisers. All of my notifs and none of them are sharing these fundraisers. I dont care if you have an “aesthetic” or just want safe soft things on your blog, this is quite literally life or death. You dont get to stay in your own little bubble while a genocide is happening.
If you feel like explaining your reasons for not sharing fundraisers of people asking for help to survive you can keep that to yourself and people who agree with you. Ive seen what yall have to say and i understand where you’re coming from, but its still not excusable.
A lot of us have a big following on aesthetic or themed accounts. It would make a huge difference. You and your blog can cope. Ive seen people reasoning “i dont want negativity or politics here this is my safe space” on accounts you likely have the biggest following on and can reach the most people. The more people that see these fundraisers, the more likely they will get the money they need to survive.
If you arent in a headspace for it, at least come back to these posts later. Dont ignore them all together. If you frequently look through your blog, then scroll past your reblogs about palestine. You dont get a pass on helping people stay alive because you want to “protect yourself.” You can do both.
Social media is not always just an escape from your own life. It could change peoples lives if you didnt treat it like it is. Stop choosing to look the other way at every turn in the name of your own wellbeing. Genocide is bigger than you. You can do something.
If you have the means to donate and are afraid of being scammed, there are so many posts on how to tell if a fundraiser is a scam and explanations on how they are verified. You just need to look. Search key words and read. Read the long posts.

in 2021, the DPRK decided to implement a regional development plan to make up for the uneven wealth distribution across the country. using Kimhwa County as a test case, the scheme saw industrial output double in the county within the last few years:
These factories have produced a variety of high-quality consumer goods, significantly contributing to the improvement of the locals’ living standards.
according to ExploreDPRK.com
now this effort is being rolled out nationwide, under the Regional Development 20×10 Policy. this scheme aims to to build industrial “modernized factories” in 20 cities and counties per year over the next 10 years. this will see more jobs created and increased access to a variety of goods spread out across the country:
The Kimhwa County Foodstuff Factory, with its state-of-the-art facilities and hygiene standards, plays a key role in elevating local people’s quality of life. The factory produces over fifty different food items, including unique candies, baked goods, and local specialties like sesame pepper paste and fruit concentrates, all made from local ingredients.
The Kimhwa County’s Paper Factory, too, has exceeded its annual production goals by 114%, manufacturing various types of paper, including educational and packaging materials. This achievement has garnered affection and pride among the residents of Kimhwa County.
