Auditions are now live for our fall production! It will go up the weekend of November 3rd in Fishman Studio. We are looking for vocalists, instrumentalists and to fill technical roles.
For actors, we would like a one minute cut of a song of your choice. We will also give you a side to read during your audition. Sign up for an audition slot below:

Ciao, BOP enthusiasts! 
We are looking to shed some light on a theatrical adventure we plan to embark upon in the fall, directed by Cosmo Coen and orchestrally directed by Ryan Urato. We’re in search of talented individuals to co-direct, stage manage, and technical direct our upcoming production, set in Italy. Step into our piazza, where art, romance, and performance collide, and help us illuminate our production with your skills. 
A call for other roles such as dramaturg, light and sound technicians, build crew, and more will go out in the early fall. Apply using the link below!

Come to the premiere of BOP's "The Magic Flute" directed by Lucas Xie at the Avon! We are excited to premiere our first film, which is an original production of Mozart and Schikaneder's opera.
This is the link for presale tickets, which are $5 each. At-the-door tickets are $7. Presale tickets are available until 6 PM 4/23. Doors open 6:30, with a start time at 7 PM. Presale tickets are valid until 7 PM at the latest.

Brown Opera Productions is proud to announce that we will be putting on The Magic Flute by Amadeus Mozart directed by Lucas Xie and music directed by Qingyang Chen this spring! We are currently looking to fill many on and offstage roles in our first in-person opera since COVID-19.

Come celebrate Women's History Month with Brown Opera Productions' production of Ethyl Smyth's The Boatswain's Mate!
This rarely staged work by Ethel Smyth, a queer woman composer and suffragette, follows a ridiculous plot by Harry Benn to win the heart of Mrs. Waters and the mischievous ways she outwits him. Wonderful music, plenty of laughs, and a feisty heroine - what better way to spend your weekend? The comic operetta runs for about one hour with no intermission, and tickets are free. Audition for Revenge of the Bat!

Audition to sing or play in the orchestra for Brown Opera Productions’ spring show, The Revenge of the Bat (Die Fledermaus) by Johann Strauss II! This comic operetta follows a case of disguise and mistaken identity at a New Year’s Eve party and the hilarious antics that ensue. Told through Strauss’s fun score, it promises to be a show full of frivolity, festivity, and joy for performers and audience-members alike. Our semi-staged production will be performed completely in English and will take place March 15-17. Singers: Please prepare an aria of your choice, or a verse and a chorus of a classical musical theater song (for example Sondheim or Rogers & Hammerstein). We welcome all voice types and levels of experience. Auditions will be in Alumnae 212, Friday 4:30pm-6:30pm and Saturday 11am-1pm. Soldier’s Tale Auditions!

Brown Opera Productions is seeking actors, singers, and dancers for our production of Igor Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale. We are committed to a variety of vocal/movement styles and levels of experience. Our cast will include some non-singing and less-singing parts, and some parts will be less movement-intensive than others. You can sign up for an audition time here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FqoqV1sct2unNVcUZAak87s2scA93yEASpLE_iprQOs/edit?usp=sharing Please prepare a verse and chorus (32 bars) of a song of any genre that you enjoy and feel showcases your voice. If you are only interested in a non-singing role, please prepare a short monologue of your choice instead. Everyone auditioning should be ready to read from one or two sides from the show that will be provided at the audition. If necessary, callbacks will be held on Saturday, Sep 22nd. BOP is looking for a talented septet (violin, bass, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, percussion) to play for our fall production of Igor Stravinsky’s “The Soldier’s Tale.” This Modernist fairytale tells the story of a soldier who unwittingly sells his sole to the devil to try to get rich quickly during World War I. Come see BOP’s Spring 2018 show, “Orpheus in the Underworld,” by Jacques Offenbach, directed by Devon Carter and music directed by Julian Gau! This rollicking comedy retells and satirizes the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, including mythological misfires, bad violinists, and the can-can! The modern English translation includes both singing and spoken dialogue. Performances will take place in Alumnae Hall (194 Meeting Street):
