mercury and why you're given your voice
TLDR: mercury in your natal chart is your mind and your voice, the very ability to speak the words and communicate the ideas. the sign it's in represents the purpose of your own voice, and the house represents the medium, through which your mind is spoken to the world. to gain more insight, look at the aspects, at you 3H and your 9H, as well as to the gemini-saggitarius axis in your chart🎐
~ what is your voice?
aries: your voice is straightforward, fiery and penetrating to the very essense of the thing you're talking about
taurus: your voice is comforting and soothing, bringing comfort and sense of stability to others
gemini: your voice is sharp, bright and even sparkly, if i may say so. it is like a ray of sunshine being reflected from all of the facets of the crystal, lighting up the minds of others
cancer: your voice is soft and muted, making sure that the message reaches only the ones that can truly appreciate it
leo: your voice is warm and cheerful, making the atmosphere of any room you walk in welcoming and lit up with your presence
virgo: your voice is sharp yet muted, dissecting the ideas with the precision of the scalpel
libra: your voice is harmonious and graceful, creating the atmosphere of harmony and concord
scorpio: your voice is deep and pervasive, uncovering every little thing that has been hidden
saggitarius: your voice is bright, loud and expansive, filling up the room with optimism and exploration spirit
capricorn: your voice is solid and robust, bringing up structured ideas and providing people with the sence of reliability
aquarius: your voice is like a lonely echo from up above, bringing up uncomfortable truths and ideas that cannot be brushed off and are in a deep need to be explored
pieces: your voice is a dreamy song of a magical creature, that sounds like a hallucination inside of people's heads
~ how does your voice speak to the world?
1H: your voice is spoken through your own self-expression, through embodying your true self
2H: your voice is spoken in a vocal way, whether it is a beautiful song or a magnificent speech
3H: your voice is spoken through your own ideas, your own words and speculations, no matter what form are they expressed in
4H: your voice is spoken through your presence by inviting people to see beyond your protective shield
5H: your voice is spoken through things you create, through every piece you've put your own soul into
6H: your voice is spoken through your actions, through the structure of your routine, through what you choose to vitalize and what to let sit dead
7H: your voice is heard through communication with others, through the ways you are directly relate to the world
8H: your voice is spoken directly from the depths of your being, raw and unfiltered, almost in a telepathic kind of way
9H: your voice is spoken from the tribunes, stages and places, where you stand in front and above millions of people, your voice is here to lead the humanity
10H: your voice is spoken through the projection of yourself you put into this world, through the ways you embody your perfectly curated highest version of self
11H: your voice is heard when you dream, when you are hopeful and excited about the future and the life itself. it is expressed through your highest vibrations of pure loving and ever-accepting nature.
12H: your voice is spoken in half-tones, through indirect and almost subliminal ways, getting straight into other's subconsious

ASTRO OBSERVATIONS: ꧁FAMILY VERSION꧂
🌱part two.
Tumblr media
- You can look at your 9th house to tell you about your mothers occupation. This is because in derivative astrology the 9th house is 6 houses (aka jobs/daily routine) from the 4th house (the mother). My 9th house is in scorpio and my mother use to work at a nursing home, not only did she have to deal with loss/death (scorpio) but she also had to deal with human waste, cleaning up after others, etc (and all of these things are plutonian in nature). My best friends 9th house is in cancer and her mother is a stay at home mom and cancer rules the home.
- With that same logic, you can look at your 3rd house to find your fathers occupation. My third house is in taurus and my father use to work at a very fancy and expensive restaurant haha (very Venusian in nature). He had to make sure everything looked presentable and also tasted well (that taurus energy! a sensory experience). One of my friends has her 3rd house in aries and her father is a lawyer, he has to argue for a living and defend his clients (there’s that aries/mars energy in action).
- Using derivative astrology you can look at your 7th house to also see what your mothers childhood was like. My bestie has Saturn in her 7th house and her mom always talks about how strict her own mother was growing up and how suffocated she would feel at home. Another friend has Gemini 7th house and his mom went through a lot when she was child. She had no stability, her living situation was constantly changing & her own mother had really bad anxiety (that flighty Gemini energy & anxious mercurial energy).
- using derivative astro, you can also look at your 6th house to see how your siblings viewed their childhood. Its always so fascinating to me how you can grow up in the same house with the same parents and still have completely different perspectives and opinions on the upbringing. For example, if you have aqua in the 6h your sibling could have seen their childhood as very unorthodox, they could have been concerned or wondered why it didn't look like other peoples. Or Saturn in the 6th house and your siblings remember their childhood experiences as very oppressive or suffocating. Aries 6h or Mars in your 6h and your siblings recall their childhood as chaotic, they have vivid memories of intense and maybe even violent moments. My bestie has pluto in her 4th house and derivative astro reaffirms how intense her childhood was bc her brother has pluto in the 6h!!
- The 12th house can also show us the lessons and philosophies we took away from our childhood experiences. For example libra 12h and what you went through childhood completely altered the way you view relationships, whether it be for better or worse. Aqua 12h and your childhood experiences had you questioning your intelligence, your sense of community could have been wounded. Scorpio in the 12h and you could have faced loss from an early age, already having to learn and watch peoples mannerisms and behavior, maybe even for your own safety. Leo 12h and your childhood impacted your relationship with your creativity or sense of self, maybe constantly having a parent that puts you down or "humbles" you. Gemini in the 12h and you could have either been encouraged to speak your mind and express your ideas or been pushed to agree no matter what, regardless there are lessons in regards to your forms of communication. Aries in the 12h and you could have serious issues/ life lessons when it comes to asserting yourself or reclaiming your anger. Maybe in childhood you were easily silenced or intimidated by a parental figure. These are just ideas on how it can manifest.
-your first house and/or the planets there can show the way others view your childhood or assume your upbringing was like. For example, pisces in the first house and people could think that your family is very sweet and nurturing in regards to their reputation but behind closed doors you could have witnessed the shadow side of that energy (like parents lying about things or pretending like everything is okay when it’s not). Taurus in the first house and people could think that you were spoiled growing up but your parents could have been very stubborn or possessive. Virgo in the first house and people could think your parents are very smart and do a lot for you, but the shadow side of that is they could have been very nit-picky and constantly judged you in private. Cancer in the first house and others could have seen your upbringing as very traditional, or like a stable/ supportive family but you could have felt manipulated at times. Capricorn in the first house and you could have felt like your parents were too strict in their expectations but other people could have congratulated your parents & deemed you a polite and mature child. Sagittarius in the first house and people could think that your parents are fun or very relaxed, but it could’ve felt like you couldn’t depend on them for serious issues. Aquarius in the first house and your family could have been seen as very progressive/modern but you could have craved more connection/ reassurance and your family members just couldn’t give it. Venus or Libra in the first house and there could be an assumption that your childhood was lovely but your parent could have emphasized your looks and the importance of your body and manners more than other things, like what you have to say or how you feel.
- tw: death….. okay last thing about derivative astro😭✋ the 11th house can also show you, your parents death since it’s 8 houses (death) from the 4th (parents/ caretakers). Like capricorn in the 11th house and your parents could live well into old age. Virgo in the 11th house & they should be careful if they smoke (mercury rules the lungs). Taurus or libra in the 11h and they should be careful with over indulgence like with the food and stuff. Neptune in the 11h and their could have been a lot of confusion in the manner of death etc. Just ideas of how the energy could manifest.
- Wherever Uranus is in our chart can show what our parents or family never expected from us or if they were expecting something we would show them the complete opposite of that lmfaooo. (well it can also come as a shock to people in general but since this is about family I'll highlight it from a family perspective). For instance, you can have Uranus in the 5th house and be very unorthodox in your dating life, but your parents are shocked at your sexuality or dating interests. My cousin has Uranus in the 8th house and her mother nearly had a stroke because she got pregnant (8h) at 16 (uranus/ very sudden and unexpected) and her mom had always been sooo educational/open about sex LMFAO so it was the complete opposite of what she expected. Or if you have Uranus in the 6th house, your parents expect you to have a specific routine and you always end up doing things your own way, leaving them confused. Uranus in the 10th house and your parents could be very controlling or harsh in their expectations of you but you always end up surprising them when it comes to your choices and reputation. Uranus in the 11th house and you could have not followed social norms, you could have been the child thats the "social activist" or always saying their opinion and then getting shushed for it because your parents could have wanted you to assimilate more into the community. Uranus in the 3rd house and your parents never know what you're going to say next, you could challenge them and their ways of thinking etc. I got Uranus in the 12th house and I talk a lot about the ways I was hurt in my childhood and it always throws my mom off when I talk about those fears and trauma (12h issues) because she expects me to brush it under the rug. Again, Uranus is where we rebel.
-Wherever Pluto is can show how figures of authority tried to humble you or snatch that control out of your grasp. We could have relinquished that control throughout our childhood only to then reclaim it in our adulthood. For instance, Pluto in the 10th house and authority figures may have been hostile since you intimidated them by questioning their authority. However, as an adult, you aspire to be your own boss and strongly reject the notion of being patronized. With Pluto in the fourth house, you might have been hushed when you attempted to speak out about how things were not acceptable in your home, being reminded that you were a child and had to comply. But then as an adult, you reject the secrecy and guilt that surrounded your upbringing and parents… going out of your way to uncover your own truth. Pluto in the first house and your parents may have been controlling about what you wore or how you presented yourself in general. There may have been a sense of "You are who I tell you that you are," but as an adult you reclaim your style and outlook on life entirely. Pluto in the second house might have resulted in your parents chastising you for your ideals and urging you to continue with their approach to life. Then as an adult you completely transform your standards and self-worth. Pluto in the ninth house and your family could have chastised you for daring to think differently than the rest of the community. And then as an adult, you knock all that shit down and maybe follow a different religion or forms of spirituality. With Pluto in the sixth house, your parents may have imposed a regimented schedule on you and instilled specific mannerisms and habits. Then, as an adult, you retake control by reminding yourself that you are in charge and that you CAN change things if you want; nothing is set in stone.
