Preston Park Tavern - Pub
Preston park tavern is a pub located slightly further out of the town centre where the majority of the bars and restaurants, however if you fancy getting away from the busy streets of the centre then this pub is perfect, it feels like a contempory pub with a traditional feel at the same time.
The owners are very hospitabal, and are constantly making sure people are happy with the food and service, it is also worth mentioning that the food they serve is of a very high standard, higher than some the restaurants I have eaten in in the centre of Brighton that are more expensive.

Brighton Wheel - Activity
On my recent trip to Brighton I took my family on the new wheel that has been built on the sea front, I must admit I was apprehensive about going on it as I felt it would be quite boring, and to be completely honest if your a fan of rides that get your adreneline going then your best bet is the pier.
Regardless of the lacking speed of the wheel, it did give some really lovely views of Brighton, we went on around 7 O'Clock as the sun was setting, in my oppinion the perfect time, I would reccomend bringing sunglasses though!

Old Ship - Hotel
My husband and I visited Brighton to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, we often stay in Brighton as our son studies there. We have stayed at a variety of different hotels during our visits however the Old Ship stood out as our favourite.
It is in a prime location with Brilliant views out onto the sea, the bar staff were very friendly as were the waiters and waitresses at breakfast, although we didn't eat an evening meal at the hotel the restaurant was busy both the Friday and Saturday nights which I presume is a compliment to kitchen staff, will be booking out next visit and stay at the Old Ship very soon.

Street Thai - Restaurant
I ate here inbetween shopping in the south lanes, the atmosphere was very laid back with the wooden benches diners were sitting on, it was very busy which is what enticed us in the first place as you can usually associate a busy restaurant with good food, we were not mistaken.
Regardless of the large amount of people in the restaurant we only have to wait 10 minutes before a table for 2 became available, the staff were very attentive and took our orders as soon as we put our menus down, we then waited around 25-30 minutes which was fine as we wanted a rest from shopping and it was midday on a saturday, presumably their busiest time.
Both my girlfriend and I had Thai Red Curry, it was lovely, not too spicey and the portion size was generous, the bill came to around £35 with a few drinks each, which we felt was very reasonable, deffinately will be eating here next time I visit Brighton

Boho Gelato - Restaurant
I visited BG at the weekend and it was an allround enjoyable experience, the huge range of ice creams made it difficult to decide on one flavour.
I have travelled a lot through my life but I have never visited an ice cream parlour quite like this one, the staff were friendly and helped give advice on what flavours they felt would complement each other, and although we were not personally with children the families around us seemed to be catered for with staff interacting the children who were naturally excited about the ice cream on offer.
My only criticism is that it seemed quite expensive for ice cream (£7 for 2 cones) however the price was reflected in the quality and for a once in a while treat I didn't mind paying, would deffinately reccomend a trip in if you are around the lanes.

Sea Life Centre - Activity
I had a great day taking my son to see the fish at the aquarium, the staff were very helpful and all of the attractions were interesting, my only negative point to make is the fact that the gift shop is quite expensive, none the less I would reccommend a visit to anyone with young children who hold an interest in marine life.

Stanmer House - Pub
Me and my family went to Stanmer House in stanmer park on Sunday. It was very busy but we were advised to book on our last visit so didn’t have to worry about waiting for a table.
The staff member who welcomed us was very friendly and took a drink order which was waiting for us at our table once we had a look around. The waitress who served us was very nice and seemed to know a lot about the menu. The wait for our food was a bit long but we could see that the entire house was extremely busy so that was expected; when the food came it was excellent.
The prices on the menu aren’t too steep either which was unexpected as the restaurant is set in such an immaculate stately home. You are able to enjoy the atmosphere without worrying that you’ll be paying through the nose for whatever you have. I would highly recommend people to visit Stanmer House, but book before as it can get busy!

Premier Inn (Brighton City Centre) - Hotel
I recently stayed at the Premier Inn hotel in Brighton’s city centre (Located on North Street) with my partner, for a budget hotel it certainly exceeded our expectations.
The rooms can be quite noisey as it is located in the town so if you were to have young children that are sensitive to noise at night it might not be the right hotel for you. However the location is perfect in the day, with easy access to both the North and South lanes and only a short walk to the seafront, we found it very easy to navigate ourselves around the town by using the hotel as our point of reference, it seemed that is was a very central location that the local people were aware of so getting directions back was never an issue.
We paid around £40 a night for a double room which was certainly a reasonable price, if you are planning to stay at this hotel I would deffinately reccommend abooking as advance as you can find rooms for cheaper than leaving it last minute.

Jamie's Italian - Restaurant
I visited Jamie’s on a Friday evening at around 9 o’ clock with my family, the restaurant was very busy, so I would reccomend booking in advance, regardless of the amount of people in the restaurant the staff were very attentive and the food did not take too long to arrive, it was also very reasonably priced. The standard of the food was very high, with a diverse menu that could cater for every one. Jamie’s is deffinately one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Brighton and I would reccomend it to anyone!
