SUNWOO FROM THE BOYZ

Harumi first saw Sunwoo during “We Go Up” era while The Boyz was promoting “Right Here”, Sunwoo firstly caught her attention not because of his performance (well, later it was that), but his screams could be heard from their waiting room all the way to NCT’s. The girl was a bit startled by the sudden outburst, but when he came to apologise, she couldn’t help but find cute the embarrassment he’d shown (especially with his member teasing him in front of their sunbaes).

YOHAN FROM WEi

Frankly speaking, Yohan caught Harumi’s attention during “Produce X 101” (you know, the Boss performance) and she undeniably felt a certain degree of attraction towards the handsome boy. His deep voice contrasting with his personality got Harumi more interested in him, not to mention his crazy talent that gave him the first place among 101 trainees. You could say it’s more of a platonic crush Harumi has on Yohan, since they didn’t interact at all, but the girl would love to talk to him.

WOOJIN FROM AB6IX

Harumi’s tiny crush on the rapper started when he was still a Wanna One member, though she claims it was more admiration of his dancing and rapping skills. However, when the two of them bumped into each other during “Superhuman” promotions, Harumi’s feelings came at full force, tinting her ears red from shyness. His slightly extra personality and antics can easily make Harumi giggly, with a smile on her face - and her members may or may not tease her for it.

YUTO FROM PENTAGON

As Yuto and Yuta are friends, Harumi’s groupmate introduced the two of them once, and it was enough for them to establish a friendship (though less closer than Harumi’s friendships mentioned on another post). Harumi adored the fact Yuto was such a soft being despite his cold and sharp features, and she couldn’t help but feel her heart skip a beat or two around the tall boy. Yuto always managed to make Harumi laugh and put her in a good mood without even trying so hard, they just felt comfortable around each other.

HWIYOUNG FROM SF9

Boy was smitten since the first he saw Harumi perform “Limitless”, enamoured by her stage presence and amazing vocals. Hwiyoung was whipped and all his members knew about that, and didn’t lose an opportunity to tease him. Definitely was more excited than Chani when he discovered his bandmate would be co-MC with Harumi at Music Core, and although Hwiyoung denies with his life, the members expose him saying he asked Chani to introduce him to her.

YOON SANHA FROM ASTRO

Sanha, similar to Hwiyoung, was amazed by Harumi’s talent and bright personality. His crush is so innocent and puppy-like, with crimson blush on his cheeks and ears, cute stutters and lots of teasing from his hyungs. He would love to befriend Harumi, and he thinks because they are the same age, the friendship would click easier; unfortunately the opportunity has never approached him because of such different schedules.

NINGNING FROM AESPA

First of all, both are members of their groups' international lineup. Secondly, Harumi and Ningning met on the younger one's first day at SM Entertainment in 2016, the same year Harumi made her debut - which made Ningning admire the older one even more. And since then Ningning considers her as her older blood sister - always seeking her out for tips or suggestions on what she should do on and off-stage, and especially regarding voice exercises since both are main vocalists in their respective groups.

YUNA FROM ITZY

Talking about Miya Harumi already makes Yuna smile from ear to ear, because the older girl is a very talented and amazing person. The younger girl made it clear from the beginning that she thought her sunbae was cute and smart, and whenever she saw her on television, she became the older girl's number one fan. Despite debuting with a short window of distance, Yuna always looked up to Harumi with respect and love.y

Harumi felt uneasy as she walked down the corridor of the executive floor in SM, following a staff member she judged to be a manager - which made her even more confused. Why would a manager interrupt her practice and say that the representatives of no other than Lee Soman wanted to talk to her? Was she lacking in practice because of her school schedule? It couldn’t be that, the girl made sure to make each hour she spends at a practice room in her best shape and mindset.

“Excuse me, sir,” she started and although the usual smile Harumi sports, her insides were twisting and turning anxiously. “May I ask why they want to see me?”

“You’ll find out soon, Harumi,” the man answered politely and, as if sensing her distress, he quickly added with a softer tone. “It will be fine, trust me.”

And trust the older man she did, stopping behind him as he knocked on the tinted glass door in front of him. Harumi started gathering her thoughts together, already planning whatever defense she might need to do, but everything fell apart as soon as her eyes met seven other curious pairs.

Sitting on the long white table were her friends from Mickey Mouse Club, Mark, Donghyuck (now Haechan, as he debuted recently with NCT 127), Jaemin, Jeno and Jisung; and with them were as well Renjun and Chenle, the Chinese boys she befriended not too long ago. Harumi had to hold back a large smile that almost crept into her face, opting to give them a small nod and a polite bow to the executive group not too far from the young boys.

“Sorry for taking you out of your vocal practice, Harumi-yah.” A woman wearing a detailed white blouse apologised quickly, though the Japanese girl knew it was half-heartedly, but still offered a smile in response. “Take a seat, we have a few things to discuss right now.”

“How have you been, Harumi?” A middle-aged man asked her, which was kind of ironic in her humble opinion, since he had evaluated the trainees the other week. “Your progress has been great as always, even during your very first monthly evaluation.”

“I’m training very hard, sir.” Harumi said with a small and timid chuckle. “The girls and I are learning a new routine, we’ll make sure to nail it by the time you visit us again.”

“It’s good to hear that the other girls are practicing hard as well, but,” he made a dramatic pause, and she bet it was on purpose since he smiled at her clearly rigid position on the chair. “We’re here to discuss your future as an idol.”

“As you may know, Seventeen recently debuted a girl in their group. Mark’s younger sister, to be more exact, and the response so far has been impressive, given the fact it was an addition to an already existing group.” The same woman from before continued talking, fiddling with a few papers in front of her.

“This concept is working well in the industry, the other companies are studying this kind of possibility and debuting a new group following this idea. However, we want to do it before anyone else, and since the next group we’re realising is a NCT unit with these boys, the executive part of the company decided to add a girl to the lineup.”

“I’m sorry, let me see if I followed you through everything.” Harumi spoke softly, a frown adorning her features. “You decided to add a girl in NCT, and that girl would be me? Why me, though? I mean- don’t get me wrong, I’m elated by the idea of debuting, but there are other girls that have been here longer than me, like Koeun unnie, Hina, Hyerin and even Lami.”

“They asked us to pick someone,” Mark answered, and a small smile threatened to burst into his face. “It was between the girls from Mickey Mouse Club, and you are the closest to all of us, your talent is crazy and honestly…”

“We didn’t imagine anyone else but you debuting with us.” Jaemin finished happily, shooting a wide grin in her direction. “Whether it was you or no one else.”

Harumi was excited, emotional, nervous and thrilled all at once. The words just said haven’t registered in her mind yet, only “debuting with us” ringing insistently. Was she really debuting with them? What about the other girls? The fans' response to that? A million questions ran through her head. She almost felt dizzy, but the seven boys looking into her eyes grounded her. If she wasn’t mistaken, she could see hope swimming in their dark orbes.

“So, Miya Harumi,” the previous man attracted her attention, a small giggle escaping his lips at the dumbfounded expression on the young girl’s face. “You are debuting in NCT Dream in August.”

“I- I-” Harumi tried to formulate any sentence, even appealing to another language she knew, but she felt numb. “Wow.”

“You eight can leave now, head to practice room 27 to talk. Harumi, you’re moving in with them in the coming days, so start packing your stuff. The manager, Hyungsuk, will let you know when everything’s ready.” They got up from their seats simultaneously, making everyone laugh at the coordinated action. “Congratulations on your debut, all of you.”

“Thank you so much!” And once again they acted synchronized, gasping at the incredible odds that just happened. Quickly, the teenagers left the room in silence; though it didn’t last long, as soon as Harumi closed the door behind her, the boys cheered loudly.

“Be quiet! People are working here!” She scolded instantly, making them laugh, now in a lower tone.

“You still act like the oldest, Rumi-yah. You didn’t change a bit.” Donghyuck teased her, causing the group to laugh as they walked towards the elevators, heading to the mentioned practice room.

“Of course I didn’t change, Donghyuck!” She complained, playfully punching his left arm. “If you have forgotten, you and Mark were the ones that debuted, Haechannie.”

“But you’re debuting soon, noona!” Jisung cheered, holding her shoulders and shaking her slightly. “And with us!”

“Yeah…” Harumi murmured, the reality sinking in her mind. She was going to debut with her friends. She made it. “We’re going to debut together.”

Hayley had never felt so anxious in her whole life, even when she had presentations at Paris Opéra Ballet made her that nervous. Actually, she felt terrified. How would they react about the sudden news? The girl already felt like an intruder and she hadn’t even arrived at the destination, her hands were trembling and Hayley was completely sure that if she was holding a cup of water, it would be notorious for her nervousness due to the shakiness of the liquid.

“Don’t worry so much, Hayley,” the man in front of her reassuringly, looking briefly over his shoulder, there was a faint smile on his face as he was trying to comfort the girl. “The boys are nice, you’ve already met them before”

“I know I did, manager-nim,” she replied carefully, even though her voice was shaking and it wasn’t a good signal. “But I feel like I’m entering in a space I don’t belong”

“They aren’t going to think like this, Hay. You’re going to be fine.” He finished the conversation, and they finally arrived at the practice room. The music was blasting inside, even the soundproof door couldn’t hold in perfectly. The manager entered first, Hayley could hear the thirteen boys greeting the man, light pants and short breaths. Since the door was slightly open, she could listen to the conversation clearly. “You guys remember the news Pledis’ CEO had told you?”

“Yeah, what’s going on?” Seungcheol asked a little breathy, Hayley peeked a look inside the room and scanned the boys quickly. They appeared to be the same she remembered from their trainees’ days, some of them looked older with the different haircut and others were taller – she could tell Mingyu had grown, as surprising as it sounds.

“The CEO decided to add another member on Seventeen,” the manager finally said. Hayley looked carefully at their reactions: some of them frowned, others were too surprised to say anything and even a few of them, Hay presumed, weren’t happy with the decision.

“Why would he do that? We’re fine as thirteen!” Seungkwan retorted, his voice wasn’t cheerful as Hayley usually heard on videos, she risked to say he was really upset. “Who is he?”

“About that…” the oldest one looked at the door and nodded his head. “Hay, come here”

I’m not gonna faint, it’s going to be alright, they’re nice and I’ve met them before.

Her steps were light against the floor, it barely made any sound as she walked in with her head down. Hayley stopped next to the manager and lifted her gaze just to see the thirteen of them looking intensely at her in complete silence, at that moment she just wished they started complaining against that decision. It was so noisy inside her mind, the fear grew in a second and the tears formed quickly, wetting her eyes.

“Hayley?” She raised her head to see who had called her, Joshua’s eyes locked gaze with hers. Hay gulped, finally looking each of them in the eye, how she wished to run away as soon as she could, their eyes were fiercely at her.

“I think all of you had already heard about Hayley, or Haeun,” the manager introduced her, his hand messing lightly with her black hair. “She’s the best dancer among all of the trainees here, her dance style and ability weren’t compared to any girl, so the CEO decided to include her in Seventeen line-up”

“But a girl?” Soonyoung asked annoyedly, if Hayley wasn’t that nervous, definitely she would throw a not-so-nice comment at him, but right now, she could barely remember her name or where she was from. “And our opinion doesn’t matter at all? And our reputation?”

“Soonyoung,” Seungcheol said seriously, almost scolding the boy. The leader looked at Hayley with a light smile and extended his hand to her. “Hi, Hayley, you’ve grown since the last time we saw each other”

She didn’t trust her voice to give a complete verbal answer, instead, she shook his hand as a “hello” escaped her lips in a whisper. Her hands were still trembling, both of them knew, and Seungcheol felt bad for giving her such a hard time.

“Trust me when I say she dances as great as you guys. All her moves are sharp, smooth and definitely Hayley knows what she’s doing,” the compliments didn’t make her more confident, just happened to increase the nervousness. Slowly, Hayley ran her nails along the skin of her forearm, applying an amount of force she wasn’t aware of, leaving light red traces behind. “The decision is already made, the CEO seemed to be really confident about it. Treat her nicely, okay? At the end of the practice I’ll come back and see how things went”

The fourteen of them bowed as the manager left the room, all the noise disappeared as the door was closed. All the boys kept staring at her, Hayley knew if that situation kept going for a little longer, she would definitely start crying and it wouldn’t cause a great first impression as the new member of Seventeen. As much as Hay wanted to start a conversation, her mind was in a complete mess, her worried thoughts mixed with things she could say.

“Haeun-ssi, are you fine?” The leader asked, Hayley snapped from her own thoughts and looked straight into his brown eyes, avoiding the judging looks from the others, specially Soonyoung and Seungkwan. “You’re pale, do you want water?”

“No, I’m-I’m fine,” Hayley stuttered, attempting to smile. “Just to make sure, I’m Lee Haeun, or Hayley, I’m about to complete fifteen and I’m a dancer”

“Wow, you’re so young.” Junhui blurted, making Seokmin, Jeonghan and Hayley herself laugh a little. “I’m Jun!”

“Yeah, I know,” she laughed shyly, when the room fell in silence once again Hayley gathered all the courage in her being to speak up again. “I bet you don’t like the idea of having a girl in your group and I’m sorry for that, but I promise I’ll do my best in Seventeen. I just… didn’t have much of a choice when the CEO decided to include me here”

“I guess we’ll just have to see how the practice goes, right?” Jihoon finally spoke, his face didn’t show any expression that could give away what he was thinking about the situation. Hayley thought three opinions were really important: the three leaders’. She already knew Soonyoung wasn’t that pleased, Seungcheol was being nice as always, but Jihoon was unreadable.

“Do you perhaps know any choreography?” Chan asked curiously, among the members, he probably remembered the best about Hayley’s evaluations. “Any of the Seventeen?”

“I know ‘Mansae’ and ‘Jam jam’, but if you want me to dance to any song or do a freestyle, I can do it.” The answer came quite easy, although Hayley panicked a little and ended up blabbering the other options.

“What type of dance do you know?” Soonyoung asked trying, focus on the last word, to sound nice. Hayley felt slightly uncomfortable, but she couldn’t blame him for being salty. “I heard you went to France to attend a ballet school, but what else?”

“Ever since I returned from France, I have focused on learning different styles of dance. I know hip-hop, contemporary, jazz and a trainee were teaching me how to b-boy” Hayley felt more confident talking about a topic she was good at. “I also can adapt myself to any type of dance and I learn choreographies pretty quickly”

A few more questions were made, Jihoon asked her to sing a little bit and Hayley danced to the two songs of Seventeen she guaranteed she knew. The boys were indeed amazed by her dance skills, all the angles correct, the tempo and even a few mannerisms Soonyoung has while dancing she learnt was shown alongside her singular way of executing the movements. Her freestyle was also good and her voice sounded sweet and stable while she sang to ‘Mansae’, the boys remembered vaguely Hayley during their trainee time, around 2014. If they didn’t know she was training for two years they could easily bet she’s been doing that for at least four, maybe five years.

“Hyung, she’s good,” Minghao nudged Soonyoung, smiling excitedly at Hayley’s dance. “She’s going to join the Performance team, right?”

“I guess she will, Hao.” He muttered, Soonyoung himself was surprised at her sense of rhythm and technique. He could complain about anything but the capacity of that girl.

When Seungcheol felt it was enough for her to ‘prove herself’, they started again their routine of practise. Chan, probably the most excited member, was teaching Hayley the new choreography, but soon his explanations became useless as she looked at him and the others dancing and copied them easily. In a matter of two to three hours Soonyoung quickly rearranged the formation to include her and the fourteen of them were dancing together, the chemistry was great as if they practised that choreography for a while.

Around ten o’clock, when they finally stopped and sat on the floor to talk freely to Hayley. At that time most of them had already warmed up with the idea of having the girl in the group, even though the worry of the hate towards Seventeen was still there. Nonetheless, the boys were being really nice to Hayley and she wasn’t that nervous anymore, definitely dancing for a while helped her a lot. The manager entered the room and smiled briefly at the sight of them chilling with the girl.

“So, how was practice?” He asked, Soonyoung reported what they’ve done and the progress of the fourteen of them. The man directed a look at Hayley, and when he saw her nodding her head with a little smile on her face, he knew everything was fine. At least for now.

IT'S NOT ONLY ROMANTIC FEELINGS!

LEE TAEMIN FROM SHINEE

Taemin is Hayley’s inspiration due to his amazing dance skills, his live singing with all of those crazy moves and so on. Obviously, her crush is platonic, but it is one of the purest things you’d ever see: just imagine Hayhay looking amazed at Taemin while he’s performing. You can say Hayley really is a Shawol and probably knows every SHINee choreography (especially Taemin’s solos).

KIM JONGHYUN FROM NU’EST

Jonghyun is an angel and everyone knows it, so he won Haeun’s heart pretty easy and quite unintentionally. During the times when Hayhay was still a trainee, he’d visit quite a lot them and help in what he could. Hayley had always thought Jonghyun was an amazing leader, his caring and kind personality – similar to her own – was admirable, not to mention how hardworking he is and Haeun really looks up to him in order to become a better idol and person.

BAE JINYOUNG FROM WANNA ONE/CIX

Probably ever since Haeun debuted in Seventeen, no idol caught her attention in an interesting way (ahem a crush), but when she laid her eyes on Jinyoung during ‘Produce 101’, she felt kind of weird. Sure, he is good looking, he’s very talented and deserved his place in Wanna One, but Hayhay wasn’t sure what she was feeling about him pretty much because she’s a teenager that doesn’t know what’s going on. If an opportunity to talk appears, it’s almost 100% sure that Haeun would freak out, but maybe (and just maybe) she’d try to stay as calm as possible to get to know him.

LEE FELIX FROM STRAY KIDS

They met before in a pretty random way, Haeun met him in a convenience store while Felix was buying ramen and Hayhay was looking for snacks for the boys. She wanted a specific snack from a higher shelf and well, since she is really short her hands couldn’t grasp at it. Felix saw her struggling and approached her by tapping on her shoulder, he asked if she wanted help in a messy Korean mixed with English and deep down inside Haeun melted. Felix isn’t included on Hayley’s friend list yet since she’s so shy around him and due to their lack of time to talk, but it is quite obvious that she felt something when they met.

HACHANI (SF9 CHANI x HARUMI)

They met at SOPA and although they weren’t in the same class, Chani and Harumi became really close friends. Fantasy and Czennies unfortunately didn’t have a lot of content about them together, just occasional mentions one would make of the other during their lives. That quickly changed when Harumi became a MC at Music Core with him, ever since then Hachani was able to show their friendship and even get the title of “best MC duo” because of their perfect chemistry. Their relationship is like Tom and Jerry’s, with Chani pranking and teasing Harumi, while the girl has fun frustrating his plans.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: for the sake of my sanity, Hyunjin and Mina won’t be MCs with them

RULEY/EUNRUMI (SEVENTEEN 14TH MEMBER HAYLEY x HARUMI)

Hayley is everything Harumi adores - a soft spoken, shy and with such a great heart girl - that she immediately adopted the younger girl. Since the Japanese girl blends well with people around her, it took no time for Hayley to get comfortable with her and seek this unnie for whatever reason. Harumi feels an extra need to protect Hayley, be it haters or from her own doubts; definitely one of the biggest Hayley stans out there. It’s common for them to comment on each other’s pictures on Instagram and constantly hang out when their schedules let them, fans are never disappointed for lack of content. Harumi would do anything to make Hayley smile, and that’s final.

SUMI (VICTON SUBIN x HARUMI)

You know that unexpected friendship between two random idols that makes so much sense? It’s Sumi. No one saw it coming, but they love it so much. Harumi’s actually an Alice, and during We Young era she bumped into him during promotions and was all smiles and excited “you’re Subin from Victon!!! I loved ‘Unbelievable’!”; the poor boy, being the shy being he is, was speechless, but very grateful nevertheless; It’s endearing seeing these two together, because Subin tries to act like a cool oppa, but Harumi always treats him like her dongsaeng, and he may or may not let her do it because it just felt natural?

DORUMI/RUSONG (PURPLE K!SS DOSIE x HARUMI)

The newest friendship Harumi made and is completely in love with this girl! Harumi knew Dosie before her debut, amazed by her all-round talent in the videos before Purple K!ss official debut. When they first met at Music Core, though, Harumi was over the moon fangirling over them. Dosie is a lot quieter than the Japanese girl, but - as like any other people around Miya Harumi - was immediately adopted by her. Dorumi is in the process of getting closer, but you can bet Harumi is the biggest PROLY out there.

JONGHO FROM ATEEZ

He once saw Hayley do a small cover of Wave and he was sold. Jongho was amused how she managed to make 30 seconds of his song as if it was hers, she did the same choreography but somehow it felt different in a way his hyungs would never be able to do. His fans know he’s a huge admiration towards his sunbae, and his members don’t lose an opportunity to make fun of him liking her quite a lot.

XIAO FROM UP10TION

This boy would be a mess whenever they bump into each other during music shows, everyone knew Xiao has a crush on Hayley and found it cute. They aren’t that friends, but they can manage a conversation quite well (he especially since Hayhay still feels shy around him), and let me tell you something: with those little things he got to know about Haeun, his crush quite developed.

ROCKY FROM ASTRO

Another one who’d be amazed by her skills and beauty (let’s be honest: my baby Haeun is beautiful), he got to know her during that stage collaboration he did with Shownu, Ten, Chan and Jinyoung. One day, after they finished rehearsing, Shownu decided to treat them to a meal and, at the restaurant, they happened to meet Mark and Hayhay. Rocky and Haeun talked quite a lot about dance and stuff (much to Chan and Mark’s surprise, since well, Hayhay isn’t that talkative), and Rocky knew that and truly he felt at the top of the world lol.

NA JAEMIN FROM NCT

He has no shame in admitting he has, with his words, a tiny crush on his hyung’s sister, he thinks Haeun is so so pretty and she always delivers amazing performances. Everyone can tell Jaemin feels something, they can’t tell, however, if it’s just admiration or something else. Once he got to know Hayhay better after some months (and with some information Mark, Harumi and Jisung would give from time to time), Jaemin changed quite a lot the way he acts around her, for example: he doesn’t flirt with her in the same way he does with every other human being.as

KUNRUMI (KUN x HARUMI)

Kunrumi met when they were trainees, Harumi walked in on him playing piano in a studio she thought was empty. Kun found it endearing how she blushed profusely and mumbled a “you’re really good” instead of apologizing (like she intended to do), then he invited her to sit next to him and hear him play a bit more and the rest is history. Harumi’s probably the least troublesome member he looks after, but despises how she changes whenever she’s with the others (for example, all WayV members lol). Kun knows Harumi puts everyone’s needs before hers, so he daily reminds her to look after herself. To the girl, Kun is one of the best idols and people in general, he’s sweet, hard working, an amazing singer and producer. Harumi wants to be like him.

HATEN (TEN x HARUMI)

Ten babies Harumi since the first time they saw each other, back in trainee days. He saw this little girl all smiley and lovely that he knew he needed to protect at all cost. Harumi goes to Ten when she needs dance advice, as she admires his skills the most, and he’s happy to help her out. She’s always willing to learn any choreography Ten has come up with, which resulted in both of their phones full with short videos of them making dance their bitch. The man admires her hard work, her urge to improve as much as possible and how she indulges with his antics. It’s a shame they haven’t shared promotions, Czennies don’t even know the power they hold in performance.

HARUWIN (WINWIN x HARUMI)

Harumi’s also whipped by Winwin, but contrary to the rest, she protects him the most from the other members’ affection. She beams in happiness whenever he speaks and even demands silence so the king isn’t interrupted. Winwin sees Harumi as a reliable younger sister, someone who can cheer him up and who he can take care of. Harumi’s enchanted by his traditional Chinese dance performances, in her words “Winwin oppa has such a graceful aura when he’s performing that I can’t help but admire him even more”.

LUMI (LUCAS x HARUMI)

These two weren't the closest because SM didn’t want to deal with two energetic kids at once (until Make A Wish happened and the managers regretted every life decision they’ve made). Whenever these two are together it’s like dealing with two scheming kids on a sugar rush, with Lucas leading the chaos Lumi gets into. Lucas loves to tease Harumi’s height by calling her “little one” and throwing her over his shoulder to move around (he once grabbed her by her armpits like in The Lion King, it was chaotic). Harumi’s always laughing when she’s with Lucas, either from his antics or his facial expressions. They’re just two happy kids together.

JUNMI (XIAOJUN x HARUMI)

Xiaojun and Harumi weren’t the closest until NCT 2020 and the Make A Wish team happened, their few interactions before that was in group conversations when the others (aka Yangyang, Winwin or Kun) were around. Harumi was firstly unsure in how to approach Xiaojun when 2020 projects started, since he was way quieter than when he’s with WayV, and for a couple of weeks she thought he actually didn’t like her. Xiaojun enjoys Harumi’s company a lot as she’s a contrast of what he goes through daily with the WayV boys: she’s a lot calmer and doesn’t tease him for breathing. Harumi looks forward to more group activities with him and getting closer.

HAHEN (HENDERY x HARUMI)

Harumi started the trend of calling him “Prince Eric” and she’s very proud of it. She made quite the impression on him as she came to him for the first time and said loudly to Ten “you said he looked like a donkey, but all I see is prince Eric!”, after that he created a soft spot for her. Hendery makes a conscious effort to look cooler to Harumi, given the nickname she’s given him, but he always ends up being a chaotic dork - which makes Harumi laugh. The girl sings constantly “The Little Mermaid” songs to him in every single language she knows, and she’s grateful that Hendery indulges in her antics, dueting with her (even if his voice breaks because of the higher pitch).

YANGRUMI (YANGYANG x HARUMI)

The unexpected friendship no one knew they needed until they actually saw them interacting. Yangyang is one of the members that can bring the most chaotic part of Harumi out, transforming her into a teasing monster with everyone (Ten often says Yangyang is a bad influence to Harumi). To some degree, Yangyang relates a lot to Harumi, from moving cities during childhood to the mess of languages their brain gets. Although they’re seen as a playful duo, Yangyang cares a lot about her, and bringing her into the chaos is one of his ways to take Harumi’s mind off her constant duties she brings to herself. Harumi enjoys the moments she spends with Yangyang since she can learn a lot from him, going from dance moves to their weekly German sessions.w

CHANRUMI (SUNGCHAN x HARUMI)

Czennies are dying to see proper interactions between these two, because they know for a fact Harumi will instantly adopt this (giant) baby and Sungchan will most likely adore this tiny and cheerful noona. Despite not interacting a lot, Harumi cares for Sungchan like she does with Chenle and Jisung; so she probably bought him drinks and/or snacks more times than she had a full conversation with him. The girl adores his smile and warm personality, and Sungchan treasures Harumi a lot for what she’s been doing to him ever since he joined NCT. Hopefully these two will get closer soon so the younger boy can thank her properly (and perhaps protect her smol being).

HATARO or commonly known as HAMTARO DUO (SHOTARO x HARUMI)

When Harumi heard another Japanese boy would join NCT, she made sure she was one of the first people to greet him. Ever since Shotaro’s first appearance the fans knew Hataro would be one of the cutest and softest friendships in the group, and the fact they hit off so well and share the same birthday? The perfect chemistry. During NCT 2020, Hataro was attached to the hip, as Harumi helped Shotaro around and he followed her like a lost puppy when he didn’t completely understand what was going on. Shotaro is thankful for Harumi being such a bright and welcoming person, coming out of his shell whenever he’s with her; and Harumi absolutely loves his dancing skills and soft spoken voice. She’s whipped, but don’t tell the maknaes, they’ll whine at her.

HAJI/HAYSUNG (NCT JISUNG x HAEUN)

They became friends at SOPA before Jisung discovered Haeun was Mark’s younger sister, when he found out he was pretty much surprised since they don’t look alike at all (?). Haji became best friends really quickly because they understood each other very well: both of them are the maknes of their groups, don’t have a lot of friends beside them and struggle to make new ones on their own. How Haeun and Jisung started to talk and became closer are still unsure, but ever since Carats and NCTzens found out they were friends, all of them want a collaboration. They are soft af towards each other, just imagine Jisung saying “Haeun noona” and the girl focusing completely on him and answering “yeah Jisung-ah?”, feelings.

RULEY/EUNRUMI (NCT 24TH MEMBER AU HARUMI x HAEUN)

It was natural for them to befriend each other, considering Harumi is Haeun’s brother's bandmate. Mark was happy that his baby sister managed to have a close girl friend, considering the fact Haeun lives with 13 boys and is the shyest person he knows. Harumi adopted Haeun at some point, fighting with Mark over who is her favourite and probably calls her more. They have a strong bond due to the mutual understanding they share about their idol lives, their groups’ mechanics and so on. Hayley feels so comfortable with Harumi, putting aside her extreme introverted side to enjoy the talking and laughing the older girl always brings with her.

HAMUEL/SAMLAY (SAMUEL KIM x HAEUN)

Haeun was really scared to meet him since she became a trainee a little while after he left Pledis, so their first meeting was during the final episode of ‘Produce 101’ when Haeun went with Seungcheol to support NU’EST – which is a story for another time – (and she knew Cheol also went to support Samuel, she knew it). After the ranks were announced and the shooting was over, Seungcheol somehow dragged Haeun around and happened to meet Samuel. He was really nice to her, asked how the boys were doing and the conversation continued naturally. Before she had to leave, they exchanged numbers and that’s how a beautiful friendship was formed (also Muel says “Haeun noona” and she pays attention to whatever he’s going to say, Eun is such an amazing noona).

TAERUMI (TAEIL x HARUMI)

Taerumi isn’t the closest bond in NCT, mainly because Harumi spends most of her time with the Dreamies, but they’re definitely getting there as promotions with 127 are more constant. Taeil tries to silently look after the maknae, but usually ends up surprised when the girl turns the table around and takes care of him. Harumi has a huge respect for Taeil in his vocal techniques, constantly asking him for feedback and tips to improve her own skills. The oldest member admires the maturity Harumi has, the will of getting better and the passion she shows while performing.

JOHRU (JOHNNY x HARUMI)

As soon as Harumi was introduced to all the members when she first joined Dream, Johnny took her under his wing as he sensed a certain degree of sadness when she spoke about her time in the USA. Johnny took seriously the role of older brother to Harumi, being a constant presence in her daily life, be it through texts when she was with Dream or gossiping in English. Harumi listens well to Johnny, so she tends to accept better when the older members take care of her when he says so. Harumi adores Johnny, his upbeat personality, his sense of humor and the comfort he brings her (lowkey she remembers a lot of her father, adding to her love towards the American boy).

HAYONG (TAEYONG x HARUMI)

Although Taeyong was a bit skeptical of having a girl in a boy group (especially his that had, at the time she joined, sixteen young men), he had never treated Harumi with anything less than respect and tenderness. The young girl reminded him a lot of his past self, thriving for improvement and pushing the limits to get better, so Taeyong keeps an extra eye on her. Nowadays, their relationship is a lot more solid and loving, with Taeyong trying to act like a tough dad, but ends up being the whipped one. Harumi looks up to Taeyong a lot - not because he’s the leader, but he’s her role model when it comes to being an idol, praising and hyping him up (she’s basically his personal cheerleader, and he may or may not brag about it).

YURUMI (YUTA x HARUMI)

The clingy older brother. Yuta acts as loveable with Harumi as he is with Winwin (though the girl accepts the affection with a huge smile), pinching and holding her in his arms. They had a great connection as soon as they introduced each other, quickly engaging in a passionate conversation in Japanese. Yuta feels like home to Harumi, due to the fact they speak in her parents’ native language, making the girl somehow feel closer to them. He makes her feel safe with his soothing presence and healing smile. The Japanese line has a strong bond.

DOHA (DOYOUNG x HARUMI)

Of all members, Doyoung was more openly about his disagreement in having Harumi in the group. The concept of having a girl in a boy group wasn't pleasant in his mind, but it started to change after the positive response in Dream. They are in the process of becoming closer, but that doesn't mean Harumi doesn't take care of him just like she does with everyone else. Doha is more subtle about their interactions, but there's no bad blood between them. Either way, Harumi is a fan of his vocals, claiming they sound angelic. Doyoung does say the same about the girl.

JAEHA (JAEHYUN x HARUMI)

At first, Harumi was intimidated by Jaehyun because of how good looking he is, but that quickly changed when they started to talk a bit more. They definitely bond over High School Musical songs, or any Disney songs since Jae knows she loves it. Jaehyun treats Harumi like a princess, spoiling her as much as she allows (because Harumi is a giver). He thinks Harumi is really brave, since she faced the challenge of debuting with all boys and keeping up with their mess. To Harumi, Jaehyun is like a prince charming, always doting and constant in her life.

WOORUMI (JUNGWOO x HARUMI)

When Jungwoo first joined NCT, he honestly thought Harumi hated him or something like that. He knew the Japanese girl was outgoing with everybody, even those she’s not that close to, but whenever Harumi was near him she would suddenly quiet down and avoid eye contact with him. On the other hand, Harumi also thought Jungwoo hated her, since he seemed uncomfortable with her around. In the end, those two were just two dummies that were impressed by each other’s looks. Jungwoo adores Harumi, how dearly she treats everyone (including himself) and her bubbly personality. Harumi feels a need to protect Jungwoo, it could be because of his sensitive self or how pure he is.

MARUMI/MINRUMI (MARK x HARUMI)

Mark was surprised by Harumi’s bubbliness, drawn to her warm personality. He often forgets she’s younger than him, since she always looks after him - especially when his schedules get tougher. Marumi is always seen laughing together, their conversations are so messy with half sentences in Korean and the other in English. Harumi won’t spare Mark when the rest of the Dreamies decide to roast him, however, will stand up when the boys are getting too harsh with the leader. Despite the occasional chaos she gets herself into, Harumi admires Mark for his commitment with NCT and SuperM, his all-rounded abilities and overall personality. To Mark, Harumi’s one of the pillars in Dream, but knows she doesn’t let herself lean on other people; so one of his goals is to make Harumi feel safe enough to rely on him.

HAJUN (RENJUN x HARUMI)

Renjun has a favorite member in NCT Dream, and that member is Harumi. Perhaps it’s her more tamed wildness compared to the others, or how she just feels like home to him, he wouldn’t be able to tell. From outsiders, Renjun and Harumi are polar opposites, whilst he’s more short tempered, the girl seems to have infinite patience. Harumi’s the only person who can calm Renjun before he goes full sass mode on the members. Renjun is one of her best friends, being able to read her well enough with the lack of emotions she shows; because of this, Harumi feels safer with him, not needing to speak up (although it contributes to some unhealthy habits). Hajun is that type of friendship that is passive aggressive with each other, with no harm though! Like, Renjun sometimes yells “yah, Miya Harumi! Talk to us, tell us what you are thinking about!” Harumi gets startled, but knows Renjun means well.

HANO (JENO x HARUMI)

Whenever Jeno and Harumi are together, they exhale puppy energy and no one can deny it; definitely the softest ship in Dream. While Jeno ressembles a dog because of his soft aura when he’s smiling and goofing around, Harumi’s personality reminds everyone of the excitement of a baby border collie - always ready to please and love their owners. Jeno is #1 at taking care of Harumi, maybe it’s because of his “dad status” in Dream or because he has the biggest soft spot for her. Harumi feels nothing but pure admiration towards Jeno, for how caring he is with her, how comfortable he makes her feel, not to mention his talents. The other closest member Harumi has, but contrary to Renjun, Jeno is more protective over her; he could (and would) drop anything he’s doing if he sees Harumi showing the slightest discomfort or needing anything. Jeno tends to be caught looking at her as if she holds all the stars in the galaxy in her eyes, and maybe (but just maybe) in his opinion she actually does.

HAERUMI/DONGRUMI (HAECHAN x HARUMI)

At first, Haerumi was a bit off. Donghyuck thought Harumi’s nice self was a persona, due to how she seemed to be on her best humor all the time, not showing anger or stress. It took a while for Donghyuck to realize he was being unfair and rude to Harumi as he used her good will of doing everything to escape chores around the dorms. As they moved on from this off beginning, Haechan started to understand why Harumi was so dear to the others. He admires how understanding and genuinely nice Harumi is, but at the same time he hates that, because he knows it’s easy for people to take advantage of her (just like he did at some point); due to that, he has a weird sense of protection over her. Although less intense than Haechan, Harumi vibes a lot with him, indulging with his affection manners and helping him escape from the older members’ rage when his jokes go too far.

HAMIN (JAEMIN x HARUMI)

Hamin vibes match a lot, since they are both givers with their friends, always taking care of the others like a mom. Jaemin, at first, thought Harumi was a bit overbearing with her constant gleam and happiness; however, he quickly changed his mind when he started to notice how she’d tone down around him and make sure he’s comfortable with her. Nowadays, Jaemin absolutely adores how safe Harumi makes him feel (you know, that tale of extroverts adopting introverts is true and Hamin can prove it to you). The boy adores that he can be affectionate with her and she’ll indulge him, because Harumi knows it’s his love language (and Jaemin will do aegyo to her just to piss her off). Harumi takes extra care of Jaemin since she knows he always looks after the other boys first, worrying about his back and unhealthy amount of caffeine this boy ingests in a day. In Rumi’s opinion, his smile can surely make her day.

CHENRUMI (CHENLE x HARUMI)

Chenle probably loves Harumi as much as he loves Mark, and only accepts to be babied by her. He’s the clingiest member, always hugging Harumi in any way (be it wrapping his arms around her waist, shoulders or just holding tightly on her arm). Chenle proclaims he’s Harumi’s official younger brother and acts like one, always whining for attention, being extremely overprotective towards her. As he matured through the years, Chenle started to look after her a bit more (but never forgetting where he came from, clinging and yelling “noona!!” every moment). Chenle reminds Harumi a lot of her cousin, Jianyu, when he first joined the company; so she immediately took him under her wing to help him out (along with Renjun). A quick fun fact: Harumi was frequently scolded by the staff for constantly speaking in Chinese with him instead of Korean, not helping him adapt to the new language.

JIRUMI (JISUNG x HARUMI)

The maknae line tends to gravitate around Harumi, but Jisung is something else. He claims to not have a favourite older member, but somehow he always ends up leaning on Harumi’s tiny frame, hiding behind her from anything he was scared of or even his hyungs. Jisung is more subtle than Chenle when it comes to showing affection to Harumi, but he’s definitely as attached to the older girl as his best friend. He’s always looking after his precious noona, but usually doesn’t know how to properly help, so he made it his life mission to make sure Harumi is feeling okay until another member comes to help him out. Harumi still sees Jisung as the same young boy she met when the younger trainees got together to start filming Mickey Mouse Club, so she has a hard time accepting he has, in fact, become an adult. After all, her baby Jisung still is the same scared cat that breaks everything he touches (and it’s up to her to sooth him down and fix anything).

HAMING/THEHAY (MINGHAO x HAEUN)

Minghao and Haeun act like twins, they’re always dissing each other (no one – besides maybe Seungkwan depending on Hao’s humour – can diss Haeun. “Only I can do it” – Minghao, Xu), but everyone knows they love each other so much, it’s only their own way to express it. Every curse word he knows, it’s not a lot by the way, is thanks to Haeun (including “iMMA“) , she also teaches him English and he teaches her Chinese they are almost done with each other during their lessons lol. Hao tends to compliment Haeun in Chinese so she wouldn’t understand (MH (in Chinese): I think you’re amazing. HE: Are you dissing me? MH: Yeah, you’re ugly. HE (screaming): jUN OPPA MINGHAO IS BEING MEAN TO ME). He’s another member of ‘Protect Haeun At All Cost Squad’ and is ready to fight anyone who disrespects his sis. Aside from all the dissing battles, Haeun just loves how caring and considering Minghao is and she tries to take good care of him (especially when he hurt his back, she was so concerned it was cute).

HAGYU/MINGLAY (MINGYU x HAEUN)

Definitely Mingyu is a member of ‘Protect Haeun At All Cost Squad’, he is in charge of making sure Haeun is fed, healthy and not on a crazy diet. Mings goes with Hayhay whenever she’s about to start a diet just to know what she has to eat, what she couldn’t and stuff (because maybe or maybe not Haeun had already lied about some previous diets and ended up fainting while practising). Mingyu is so whipped for Haeun that he is capable of stopping anything he’s doing to pay attention to her and it’s highly possible that Mingyu’d be seen giving Haeun a piggyback ride. The girl just loves how Mingyu is a (giant) puppy, how his hugs are so comfortable (highkey they cuddle a lot) and his silliness never fails to lift her mood.

SEOKEUN/DHAY (SEOKMIN x HAEUN)

Seokmin considers himself as Haeun’s personal ray of sunshine, he “fights” with Jeonghan about who is Haeun’s mother in Seventeen. They are constantly spotted eating anywhere they go, pretty much every time, not gonna lie. It seems like Seokmin jokes around just to break Haeun’s shell of shyness. If he can make her laugh out loud he feels like he owns the world, because he thinks her laugh is one of the most precious sounds on Earth. Everyone loves Haeun, that's a fcking fact. This girl just loves Seokmin’s voice and definitely looks up to him in this matter, also she loves his smile and feels more confident to joke around without being afraid of not entertaining people because she knows he has her back.

SEUNGHA/HAYKWAN (SEUNGKWAN x HAEUN)

Let’s be honest, Seungkwan was probably the member who was most awkward with Haeun at the beginning, but it quickly evolved to a, what people see, ‘love and hate relationship’ due to every single time they expose each other on air. On camera they really seem to hate each other like “bitch you better stop exposing me now or else I’ll shove my shoe down your throat and it won’t be nice”, behind the scenes, though, they care a lot about the other maybe in a more tsundere way (contrary to Hao). Despite Haeun complaining about Seungkwan never shutting his mouth, she adores his voice when he sings, and how he puts his everything into music.

EUNSOL/HAYNON (HANSOL x HAEUN)

He is so soft on her, even his family thinks so to the point where they basically adopted her during holidays whenever she couldn’t spend those times with Mark. Hansol is another member who probably knows Haeun the best along with Joshua, they talk in English a lot (especially during her early days when Hayhay almost looked like a foreigner that couldn’t speak Korean at all) and it’s somewhat comforting. She found in Hansol another source of home, he truly felt like another brother to Haeun, as caring and loving as Mark. If they had a fan account, they would definitely post something like “Haeun/Hansol appreciation post”.

CHANEUN/HAYDI (CHAN x HAEUN)

One fun fact before we start this: Chan and Haeun used to have a crush on each other before she joined Seventeen, but any feeling was forgotten as soon as they became best friends and realised nothing more serious would work between them. Said that, it is a fact that they are the closest (even more than the American line) due to the smallest age gap and their passion for dance. Chan truly respects Haeun for being so eclectic in dancing styles since she can go from classic ballet to almost b-boying (with a wild Jun freaking out), and Haeun admires him for maturing so quickly and being such a great dancer. They share a lot of secrets and worries, they’ve seen each other cry plenty of times and always dances together, including couple choreographies, because they just know nothing wrong or weird will happen.

HASEUNG/HAYCOUPS (SEUNGCHEOL x HAEUN)

Ever since Haeun became a trainee back in 2014, he became really soft on her, even though she was really shy. When Pledis announced she’d join the team in ‘Pretty U’, he was probably the member who worried the most about her well being and the hate she’d receive. Nevertheless, he is her older brother and has no shame in admitting he’s whipped for her. Haeun respects Seungcheol not only because he’s the leader, the oldest or who trained the longest period, she really looks up to him because of his caring, attentive and considerate personality.

JEONGEUN/HAYHAN (JEONGHAN x HAEUN)

He showers her with love, affection and attention since day 1 when she started to practise ‘Pretty U’ with them (he basically adopted her now he’s her mom). Whenever he was up when Haeun was leaving for school, he’d walk halfway till there with her, try (focus on trying) to help her with homework and so on. Jeonghan used to brush her hair after shower when Haeun was so sleepy that she couldn’t keep her eyes open, after a few years he still had this habit and Eun was the only one who could play with Han’s long hair. To Haeun, Jeonghan is someone she can count on whenever she needs a shoulder to cry on.

JIEUN/HAYSHUA (JISOO x HAEUN)

He! Is! Such! An! Older! Brother! From the moment he saw a small girl looking like a lost puppy in the hallways of Pledis’ basement speaking full English, Josh knew he’d take care of her. He really is an older brother figure for her like Mark, takes such good care of her and is her source of “home comfort”. Josh also enjoys playing the guitar with Hayley because she always ends up singing softly the tune he’s jamming to, so expect a lot of “Sunday morning rain is falling” coming from these two. Haeun is really attached to him, she tells him everything (and Hansol ends up knowing as well since they usually speak in English), he knows her the best basically.

HUIEUN/HAYJUN (JUNHUI x HAEUN)

She’s probably the only member that Junhui doesn’t roll his eyes at whatever shit Haeun does. Definitely he’s the leader of ‘Protect Haeun At All Cost Squad’, he’s really protective over her when Performance Team is creating a new choreography, Jun’s the first one to oppose any idea that might be dangerous or too revealing for Haeun (it was such a pain in the ass to make him agree with ‘Who’ choreography). He’s not more whipped for her than Seungcheol, but he definitely is pretty close. Haeun finds in Junhui the courage to be herself, he’s her #1 supporter to be whoever she wants to be and to do anything she wants to.

SOONEUN/2H (SOONYOUNG x HAEUN)

At the same time Soonyoung treats Haeun as an adult during practises, he also treats her like his little sister, babying her with no end. He annoys her by doing aegyo on purpose (even though Haeun has a soft spot for him) and disturbs her when she’s focused on something, but Soonie just does those things in order to make her leave her shell (and maybe yell at him to stop). They were a bit off during Hay’s first days on Seventeen only had one big fight, but after that they reached a unique level of friendship. Haeun admires him for making amazing choreographies – she’s the only person that understands his notebook – and she always laughs with Soonyoung

WONEUN/HAYWOO (WONWOO x HAEUN)

From the moment Wonwoo discovered that Haeun also liked reading, he fell in love with her (platonically for god’s sake). Wonu takes such good care of her, always buys her food and he’s one of the members who knows how to calm her down and shush her to sleep when she’s a lot on her mind. He helps her in improving her rapping skills and highkey hates when she doubts her own capacity. Haeun found in Wonwoo peace, he’s the source of calmness she needs to not freak out.

Jihoon can’t be mad at her, he’d never yell or be too harsh with her while recording, he’d help her to give her best at the same time worrying to not hurt her throat. He’s really soft for her, with those little smiles and loving eyes whenever she’s at his sight. He also absolutely loves her voice, how it sounds and he truly gets sad when people put her down and when she gives her lines in music away because of those mean comments. Haeun loves to hug Jihoon, to her, he is her anchor (also he sings to her a lot).

B A C K S T O R Y

Harumi was born in Madison, Wisconsin. Daughter of a young Japanese couple that moved to USA to start a new life, Miya Hayao and Miya Yoshiko

Since her father was an Algebra teacher in an middle school near their house and her mother was a Japanese teacher in a local language school, Harumi grew up highly influenced by knowledge and curiosity

Unfortunately, at the age of 6, Harumi and her parents were involved in a car accident, resulting in their death at the spot. Luckily Harumi survived, despite heavily injured

She was transferred to an orphanage in New York, where she could afford a better treatment to her injuries and social assistance with her double nationality

Harumi was the eldest child in the orphanage and the least interviewed kid for possible adoptions, because of her age. Because of that, she matured quickier and learned how to mask disappointment

She decided to learn by herself Chinese and Korean - in an attempt to increase her chances of being adopted, even if through an international adoption

Four years later, when she was 10, Moon Seungyeon and Moon Bom adopted her and brought her to South Korea

Harumi got casted during a Sunday outing she had with her family. A scout heard her singing and playing guitar and decided to invite her for an audition

Seungyeon, Bom and Jianyu (her cousin) convinced her to try for it and, eventually, join SM as a trainee

A couple of months after she began a trainee, SM introduced her as one of the SMRookies, participating in shows such as "Mickey Mouse Club"

Debuted in August in NCT DREAM, charming the fans with her powerful and husky voice

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Harumi is perceived as a sweet extrovert, always polite and warm towards anyone who approaches her. Though her soft looks and voice could mistake her as a shy girl, she is a truly happy virus

Her energy changes according to her surroundings. Whenever she’s with more playful members, she’s joking around and making a mess. However, with the calmer members, she can blend with them very well

Since she was the eldest in the orphanage, Harumi usually takes care of everyone around her, including the older members. She makes sure all the members are comfortable, healthy and happy

Extremely independent, struggles on relying on other people - which gives constant headaches to the older members

Keeps all negative comments and feelings to herself, not wanting to burden anyone

Has a hard time saying “no” to people, that being one of her biggest weakness

Constantly looks for improvement and new knowledge, so she's either learning a new dance style, an instrument or improving her producing skills

Because of years of rejection, Harumi is extremely self-conscious about herself as an individual

F U N F A C T S

Harumi learned Korean and Chinese through grammar books she found in a library. Because she was really young, the girl often reached out to the employees to explain some topics (what was a verb, noun, for example)

An volunteer in the orphanage taught Harumi how to play guitar and, eventually, gifted her his old one

Every Saturday afternoon, the orphanage headmistress would take the kids to Central Park. Harumi started to sing and play guitar there just for fun, but people started to spare her a dollar or two

In her audition, Harumi sang "Growl", from EXO, an acoustic version that fit perfectly her huskier tone

Seungyeon and Bom gave Harumi her Korean name, but let her decide whether she would use it or keep her given name (Harumi actually cried when they let her keep "Miya Harumi")

She surprised all the trainees with her almost perfect Korean, especially after introducing herself with her Japanese name. They were even more shocked when they discovered she knew as well English and Chinese

Contrary to all the Dreamies, Harumi did not drop out of school, juggling her student and idol life. All the members were worried about her health, but when they discovered the reason why Harumi was so adamant to keep studying, they did everything they could to help her

In 2017, Harumi got Korean and Chinese proficiency through the official test, formalizing her fluency in both languages. Because of that, fans gave her the nickname Brainnie

Before joining NCT, Harumi focused her vocals on acoustic versions and ballads. She was often told that her tone didn't match girl groups

Because of the car accident, Harumi has a long scar from her sternum to her bellybutton. Only in Ridin' era she felt comfortable enough to wear crop tops that showed a bit of it

Following the trend of peculiar dislike of foods in NCT, Harumi doesn't like nuts. She's actually heavily allergic, needing to have an epinephrine shot with her whenever she goes out to eat

The part she loved the most during her trainee period was dance classes, Harumi had so much fun and created a soft spot for it

Harumi despises winter the most, snowy days are the worst for her, because remind her of the car accident

Loves all Disney movies, even the underrated ones

Harumi's a quick learner, but feels extremely burnt out and unsatisfied, dropping one or another activity every once in a while (she usually tries again, because she hates the fact she gave up on something)

Her official emoji is ✨, because of the meaning behind the kanji of her name (Haru). Her introduction during her debut days was “Hello, I’m sparkling Harumi!”

One of her favorite hobbies is re-recording songs. She would record all the instruments, getting all notes by hearing and - finally - get the vocals done

Maintains Dream’s dorms up (she does do cook, she does the cleaning to the point the others scold her for doing all by herself)
