I'm watching D1 and Doug is such a weak ass bitch he couldn't stand up to Chad for Evie and they want us to ship them? She deserves to be with someone who looks out for her and stands up to whoever for her someone like Jay or Harry

Like I get why they went the Evie/Doug route. Want to show the pretty princess who was groomed to want a prince doesn’t actually need a prince. As well as showing that the geeky guy can get the pretty girl. It happens in real life and you should never judge a book by its covers.

But I have plenty of issues with Doug and Evie. One being he openly admits to stalking her.

Two, as you said, he lets his friends get to him and doesn’t even try to defend Evie, especially when she would have needed him the most.

Then there’s reason three, which is one of my biggest concerns, where in D2 he just automatically accuses her of cheating with one of his cousins! It just gets me so made. Even when she does tell him where she was he doesn’t even bother to ask if she or Ben were alright. He just does, ‘Oh, so you weren’t sneaking off with my cousin?’ And she just laughs it off.

And don’t get me started on his uselessness in D3 and how Evie, the girl whose whole point is she didn’t need a guy, has a solo about a guy. 😤🤬

Evie/Jay just made so much sense coming from the first book into D1 and Disney just blew it. But that’s why we have fanon and lovely people who supply us with Evie x anyone but Doug fic 😉
