The weekend has landed, tomorrow night we return to Undertone, Cardiff, welcoming one of our most accomplished bookings to date, Counterfeit Soul boss Frazer Campbell. Frazer is an exceptional artist with an extended love for electronic music. From deep Techno to cultivated House music, his sets are thoughtful and energetic. The inspiring grooves and captivating soul that flows through his sounds have made him a pivotal figure in the UK music scene. In the late 90s Frazer held residencies at Turnmills, The Egg and Inigo with appearances at the legendary Cross nightclub in Kings Cross London. After a several-year hiatus from the music scene, he returned in 2013 releasing his productions on labels across Europe, the USA and Colombia. Launching Open UK Recording in 2016, he lead the release of their first two global sell out Eps, inviting well respected remixers on board such as Steve O Sullivan and Onirik. On Saturday 22nd June we return to the basement, welcoming Counterfeit SOUL boss Frazer Campbell. Frazer is a unique artist with an extensive passion for electronic music, from deep techno to cultivated house. With inspiring grooves, captivating soul and subliminal messages flowing through his sets, his sound is meticulous and energetic. Launching Open UK Recordings, in 2016, he lead the release of their first two global sell out EPs, inviting well respected remixers on board such as Steve O'Sullivan - Mosaic Records, and Onirik. Our second guest is Hâws head honcho Tywi, AKA Eben Rees. Eben is fresh off the back of numerous sell out gigs, supporting the likes of DJ Central, Peverelist and DMX Krew. With the first two releases selling out and a third on its way, Eben and his brand are undoubtedly blowing up. Swansea local, Shaun Edwards, is a founding member of the city’s notorious Dogruff movement. Heading into its 10th year, Dogruff built and maintains its reputation on bringing cutting electronic sounds to unique underground venues, moving away from the standard club or bar setting. Edwards has played across the UK at events such as Delete, Present Tense, Hidden and Pooku, as well as overseas bookings at Sankeys Ibiza and Inside Bar Busteni, Romania. While he finds it hard to pigeonhole his style, he describes his sound as heady techno, using breakbeats, atmospheric electronics and progressive sounds to deliver fresh and evolving sets. Jack Darwin is the head honcho of Breathe Cardiff. His vision sought to bring the underground chic of the European clubbing scene to the Welsh capital. In the lead up to his last event, Breathe Presents: Dudley Strangeways, Buzz Magazine picked up on exactly that, stating that Breathe was bringing “a slice of the Berlin clubbing vibe” into our city centre. A pillar of the Dogruff movement, Alex Taylor has graced just about every underground venue on the South Welsh circuit, with a penchant for minimal techno grooves. Developing his musical palette and performances overseas, Taylor made a residency at the iconic Sankeys Ibiza, before regular bookings at the world famous Zoo Project. Going on to create his own event on the island, Quibika at Itica, Taylor curated lineups bringing together pioneers in subverise sound, such as Rossko, Jay Kurness and John Dimas. Reiss​ has been a pivotal figure of the Amsterdam house and techno underground for quite some time. His extensive record collection, combined with a refined sense of (club)atmosphere, enables him to create cohesion and unison on the dance floor. His sound can be described as a delicate flow of rhythms and soundscapes, spiced up with occasional and surprising idiosyncrasies. Reiss is a close affiliate of the Amsterdam based VBX​ crew. Besides regular DJ appearances at their events, he has also released on the VBX label in collaboration with brother in beats Ferro, under their Spokenn​ moniker. He is more determined than ever to realize his full potential; both in the studio as well as behind the decks.
