Day 6 - Routine, time to get SMART

It’s quite early to talk about this, but this is going to be one of the most dangerous things to fight against. But you know what, I might have something to help with that!
Routine!!!!
At first we are enthusiastic about doing new things, and it’s good! Then you keep pushing because you know what benefits that will bring to you. But then it happen again, and again, and again..... And it will be like that for 60 Days.
Yes, this is going to be thought. I’m not thinking about, I still have 54 Days to go. I’m currently breaking my Big Goal, into smaller ones. Otherwise this would be insanity. Who that heck can aim to 60 Days and trace a perfect plan and execute that without collecting or making small adjustments on the way?
I’m not saying to change the tasks, or remove things that are being hard to handle. I’m talking about less iterations to assess your goals and achievements.
You may have a Bigger Goal which is - To lose 20Kg in 60 Days.
It’s Big, and it’s hard. What if you said to lose 2.5kg per week? Wouldn’t sound any be better, or achievable?
This approach is actually a very know method about taking your bigger goals and breaking it into smaller ones or SMART ones.
S.M.A.R.T goals means Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Timely.
Specific (simple, sensible, significant).
Measurable (meaningful, motivating).
Achievable (agreed, attainable).
Relevant (reasonable, realistic and resourced, results-based).
Timely (time-based, time limited, time/cost limited, time-sensitive).
I’m not going into the details of this, there are a few good resources out there and by Googling it, you can easily find About 521,000,000 results in (0.69 seconds) .
Again, this is a 60 Days Challenge and you will need discipline, focus and resilience to go through this. Because when you hit the end of well, you will need to keep fighting to achieve what you have committed to.

Day 5 - The Early Bird

This sounds crazy, and this challenge is about to get really thought. Well, went I got myself enrolled at the gym, wasn’t only me doing that. My Wife also gave it a go. Not only that, our child (5 y.o) also is part of the membership. This was suppose to be nice and somewhat supportive, right? Well, not exactly...
I’m not saying that this is not amazing, and see they going there is a bad thing. Just the opposite!! I’m very excited to see them taking part of this. The tricky thing is. I work from 9.am to 6.pm, and would get home near 6.45pm. So far so good. The gym closes by 11.pm. Not a problem at all.
The “problem” is, I have my duties as father includes but are not limited to - Give bath, prepare and give the dinner, help with the homework, putting to bed. And my while my Wife stays the whole afternoon taking care of her, she doesn’t have the proper time to exercise, so the evenings is what best suits her.
She would be coming back after 9.pm. Until she finishes her dinner and bath time it will be 10.pm with lucky.... At this point you are already thinking, when you will have the time to exercise?
Yes... 5.45 in the morning! This is me walking to the gym. I stayed there for 1hr-ish, and the exercises were pretty much strength ones.
Sorry the blurry one - I will be doing snapshots instead :)
But still. I’m walking until there and that gives me almost 3km just by going to it. So I guess it’s Ok.
Well.. Now you might be thinking - That is easy for you to say, you may like to wake up early!
Well, let me tell you something - No, I’m not like that! And last Friday I slept until 7.am, 50min before the last commuter to get in time to my child’s school.
Seriously, I’m not an early bird person, but I’ve being changing my habits and I had a wonderful morning today. It’s 9.07pm as of now, and I’m feeling ok. Not tired at all. Just fine!
So, that’s it.. I will be going to the gym early in the morning went it opens, for the next days until the end of the Challenge. I cannot go after it, except maybe during the weekends were I could go a bit later I guess :D.
Anyways, all going well here and I hope I can get this challenge done. I’m pushing it really hard for it!

Day 4

Yeah.. This header summarizes everything for today. Keep moving forward, no matter what. I decided not using public transport at all today, and instead I walked. It was 7Km walked just for doing my ordinary things like - Going to gym, going for lunch, walking to a near garden store and coming back home.
I went to gym 10.30am, did all my exercises and even after that I walked + 7Km. I’m still feeling OK after that, and better than that, my wife did the walk with me just for fun. My food again was nice. We went to a café somewhat 1.5km from home, and I asked for a Beef sandwich without bread and mayonnaise. Yeah, that’s right. I asked to bring the beef and the salad of it.
I must confess that after that I was still hungry, but i drunk some extra bottle of water as I was pretty sure it was enough food and was just eating with my eyes at that moment.
All done for the day, no major problems going trough it.
Today I also had my bin collected from home, and surprised my wife with flowers.
Now, to help me to keep the momentum with the strict diet, I will prepare my tomorrow’s Lunch, which will be Salad, Cajun Chicken and a bit of cheese to add some extra flavor. Btw, I’m not doing any low carb, vegan or crazy diet. Just reducing the amount of trash food i was eating before.

Day 3 - The GYM

I SURVIVED MY FIRST DAY AT GYM! :D
Yeah, actually I must confess that was quite easy though :p
My day started by 6.30am on this Sunday. I just woke up, like if someone turned the switch on. I tried to get back to bed, because you know.. I’m not an early bird person, but still I just couldn’t get back to sleep at all.
Then I decided to start to get ready to the gym. I leave a few blocks from it, so I decided that I would go walking (even because there is no public transport until there, so you can do either drive, cycle or walk)
It’s not that bad, after 12 minutes I was already at the gym awaiting my personal trainer for the induction training. I thought they would just do measurements, general talk the gym and blah blah blah. I found myself 15min later doing push ups, step for 3 minutes long with a metronome rythiming my steps, stretching and a few other exercises to evaluate my health and other body’s parameters.
After this, everything was fine and I’ve booked another session for tomorrow, the 3rd of Jun (By the way, it will be bank holiday tomorrow).
So yeah, next gym appointment tomorrow 10.30am.
Well.. continuing with my ordinary day, I got back home and had to get prepared for another “sacrifice”. Another kids party. This time they had loads of tasty food there. It was thought. I was nearly fasting at this time as I previously went to gym and got home just in time for a shower :|
I had my lunch after the party at 3.30pm. I was REALLLY starving at this point and would do anything for a very tasty food! While my wife had a delicious Bacon Hamburger with Coke, I asked for a Caesar Salad with strips of Chicken Breast and water to drink. It was very good though! I felt very proud of myself being able to eat that while some juicy burger was staring at me just besides me.
After it we went to get some shops done at the mall and then got back home by 8.pm
Since I had lunch so late, I’m still not feeling hungry and may skip the dinner.
It’s my 3rd day, but it doesn’t feels like 3 days. Not sure if it’s the journal thing or just having loads of new things happening. So, it’s not a routine at the moment.
Anyways. Tomorrow i believe it will be time to work out for real

Day 2

Ok.. That’s it second day starting. Yesterday was kinda easy.
Among all the daily tasks done, I also got myself enrolled at gym. As part of the plan, I should be exercising every single day - Remember, the idea is to be uncomfortable, and this includes to do things even when you don’t wanna do things.. And I must confess, I’m not a gym person, but still. I’ll do it because by the end of the day exercises are good, right?!
So, that said, my first class will be tomorrow, Sunday 2nd of June @9:00am. (Wish me luck).
I also tried to stick with the plan of having a “healthy meal”. Well, I’m not a master chef, nor want to become one. So i made myself a wrap. Nothing fancy or caloric. Just a few things on need and done. For drink, tap water.
Ohh yeah, I forgot to say. During this 60 Days I’m not getting any Soda/Soft-Drinks and no Alcoholic beverages. Yes, that’s right.
Today I started my day in a very good mood. I decided doing a heavy house keeping every Saturday morning. I woke up at 8:30am, stretched a bit, gave my daughter her break fast and started to work - Yes, work. For those who thing keeping a house is not work, yes it’s. Remember that the dust and dirty dishes don’t clean up their selves, and that you clothes don’t go to the washing machine walking by their own ;).
So yeah. Vacuuming was a good kick off! First the master bad room then the kitchen area while my Dyson Vacuum machine was charging :(
After getting my lunch, had to got to go for a Kids Party. Was lots of fun to see the kids running and having fun with which other. They were really happy. After that, got back home by 7.30pm and continue and finished with my Vacuuming task. All done!! Finally. I guess it will be easier to keep things clean now, instead of doing a high deep clean once in awhile.
For today’s dinner, I will be getting some fruit, I’m not feeling hungry, even though I had none at the party.
Tomorrow will be gym time, and guess what? Another kids party. Not the best time for doing challenges involving diet restrictions :D
Well, stay safe until there. See you next time!

Day 1

So... Today I decided to start my #60_Day_Challenge and try to fix a few things in my life.
By doing this, I’m expecting to get a better life and also to become a better person.
As part of this challenge I’m going to write up this daily journal to basically:
Keep track of my progress
Measure my goals
Document my achievements/failures
The goals I have defined are quite simple, including but not limited to:
Strict diet
Home habits
Domestic Activities (yeah.. I do lack on that)
Another extra thing that I added to my personal challenge are weekly tasks. So, not only my daily tasks are going to drive my new life style, but I also added this “extra challenge” to help me to become a better person on other areas that I’m lacking to.
Let’s see where this crazy train will take me to. Tomorrow is Saturday and yes, I have started this on Friday 31st of May, because there is no better day to start something new but now!
#sideNote - This is my first time doing journals/posts. This sounds odd and funny at same time
Anyways... stay tuned
