While this isn't always the case, pinned posts will often include vital information about not just the character, but the person playing them as well. This can include their personal rules for their blog, whether they're okay with suggestive or nsfw content, whether they're a minor or an adult, and other information that should be taken into account while Roleplaying. And it's not just about respecting the other person's boundaries (though that is super important), this goes both ways. Reading someone's pinned post can help you figure out if you want to interact with them. of course. you can always just go up and ask someone if they want to battle personally, no one really considers that out-of-standard anymore.
