Rita let loose of Karol.

“The new environment makes it harder to teach recruits how to cast healing artes, and the knights have asked me for help.

“Which is a bit outside my normal repertoire.”

Rita punctuated this last statement by touching the fingers of her right hand to their thumb, and then slowly spreading them. As she did so, a tiny negative gate expanded between them.

She let the gate go, and turned her attention back to Karol.

“Being able to do that gets in the way, so I figured I’d try using the sword as a focus. I worked for Yuri any Guardian Field, at any rate.”

She learned forward a little bit so that only Karol could hear the next bit. “That’s the easy part. I’ve got a slightly more complicated problem that we need to talk about in private.”

“So that’s pretty much why Rita wanted to come here.” He picked up after Rita finished talking. “And I was the one who ended up having to escort her here.”

He glanced at the two of them, raising an eyebrow at whatever Rita was secretly telling Karol. Talking about the assassination attempt on her, maybe?

“That reminds me. What’s going on in the other guilds lately?

Karol let out a breath of fresh air the moment Rita let him go. He briefly touched his fingers to his neck to make sure she left no bruising. 

“But the knights know you. Why would they do that?” Oh he was going to get punched for that, he knew it. 

“Well here it is.” the sword was a bit heavy but he pulled it out. He handed it to Yuri quickly, it was a bit too heavy for him. 

He frowned at Rita’s words. “what kind of problem?” He asked in a hushed whisper. Glancing at Yuri curiously to see if he knew what it was too. 

He grimaced at Yuri’s words. “Lucky you..” 

He blinked his eyes at Yuri’s questions. “Oh, actually they’ve been pretty good. Harry’s really starting to get into the leadership thing! Its great!”

Siren’s Fang was a pirates guild ran by Patty or well Aifread as she was called at the time. But was disbanded after Alexei turned most of her crew into monsters. She had almost died then along with her crew if it hadn’t been or Seifer how saved her. 

He was the reason she went from a woman to an amnesiac midget. Of course, she had her memories back now.

“Yep!” Karol exclaimed, though somehow it still felt like Patty won. “Oh.” He had no idea what she was talking about but it felt like he was intruding on something deep. “Siren Fang?” He repeated thoughtfully. why did that name sound familiar... 

“Oh, the guild!” His eyes went wide. “You were part of a guild!?” Even if it was a a pirates guild it was crazy picturing Patty in a guild.
