Also this new generation of ppl looking to get into alt fashion, lolita in particular are so mf lazy. Lolita is the pinnacle of slow fashion and it's a luxury hobby. "I have to buy lolita from amazon and aliex because im poor" no dawg you're too lazy and impatient to shop secondhand like the rest of us do...... too lazy to even look up how to use taobao...........
#i hesitate to even call lolita n other fashion subcultures luxury bc like. theyre not rlly#like price wise a lot of lolita pieces vs luxury brands is night and day. lolita is cheap#even when u look at sustainable slow fashion brands! £30+ for a tank top!#£50-100 for a dress? thats normal pricing#but people are SO poor that we’re being locked out of anything priced fairly. locked out of anything good quality#sustainability movements under capitalism push out the poorest layers of the working class and#those of us that arent as poor end up only buying a couple pieces bc we have to take time to save up#leading to ‘underconsuming’ - no wonder these businesses end up going under unless ppl with money take an interest!#basically its a system problem not ‘wahh lolita so expensive!!!’
