#yes- however there is excessive indulgence in sexist tropes#at times it feels like the show Wants to address sexism but it feels fully through the lense of a man#there is a lack of self reflection in the writing and characters like sanji lack growth for the sake of a bad joke#i dont think one peice hates women though because of the care put into the female characters and how vital they are to luffys sucsess#i think a more spisific issue is how comfortable men feel sexualizing their female characters in ways that would be extremely violating irl#adding on: seen some comments from people mentioning odas comments on female readers-#when in reality a lot was lost in translation. he was discussing shonen and shoujo anime which sorta translates to boy anime/girl anime#hes not going to write in a Shoujo style- ‘appeal to women’ because it would go against what the show is#unfortunately that style still caters to some sexist steriotypes- but he didnt say he doesnt want women reading his comics
