At my playdate one of the fed moms told me about a fellow fed coworker of hers - he sucks!

His wife is having their 2nd child via planned c-section in the next month. Mom fed has also had a c-section and reminds him you can take 8 weeks of sick leave to care for a spouse recovering from surgery before spending the federal paid parental leave.

He's taking 2 weeks off! And then taking some intermittent leave after that. His wife's mom apparently helps out a lot which...yeah sounds like she has to because her daughter married a shitty guy.

I feel somewhat guilty for not protesting today, but I went to a very cathartic playdate with moms from our childcare center. 2 feds, 1 Congressional committee staffer, and me (a political hack). We all bitched about being in Trump’s crosshairs in one way or another. What was especially nice is that all of us have publicly available similar salaries, and we obviously all know what childcare costs, so we could complain about the cost of living without caveating it to death.

Nursing and teaching are the only majority-union professions that are predominantly women and also, coincidentally, constantly memed as professions for lazy mean girls, abusers, and bullies who make too much money.

The passenger, named only as David, told French TV channel BFM that he was on the phone to his sister while waiting at Nantes station when the SNCF staff member told him to switch his phone's loud speaker off, or risk being fined. When he argued, he was served with the €150 fine, which has been increased to €200 because he did not pay it immediately. David says he intends to hire a lawyer to contest the fine.
