these birds r native to madagascar, and r 34-47cm long on average, with the tail contributing up to 30cm of that total length !!! >_<

thank you for this ask anon !!! if i had to pick, i would probably say the hummingbird !

the first reason is because the anna’s hummingbird can change colour !!! and i think that is super duper cool and i’m also super duper cool, obviously ^_^ jokes !!

they are also seen as symbols of love, joy, and peace in some cultures, and i’d love for that to be the same for me !! i suppose i could be seen as a symbol of love for fan and test tube ? so maybe it’s partially true already !! >_<

today’s bird of the day is the northern red bishop !!

despite their name, this bird is arguably very orange 0_o they r native to sub-saharan africa, and r only 11cm long !! ^_^ their diet consists mostly of grass seeds, but they sometimes eat insects too !! >_<

today’s bird of the day is the cardinal !! in honor of the ii finale, it was going to be the lovebird, but i’ve already DONE the lovebird !!! -_- i picked the cardinal because due to the male and female being different colours, they’re often depicted as gay in gifts or cards ! ^_^

they’re native to northern canada and eastern usa, and r 22-23cm long !!

plus the people who inspired this pick ;3

these birds have a very obvious characteristic of their moustache ! the moustache occurs in both female and male birds, and is a sign of mating status, health, and immune condition !! ^_^ they r native to south america, and r around 40cm long !!

today’s bird of the day is the osprey !! ^_^ these birds r 50-66cm long on average, and they have a whopping 127-180cm wingspan !!! >_< they r native to eurasia, and r most common in scotland !! interestingly enough, their diet is almost entirely fish, which may be why they are common in scotland !! ^_^

today’s bird of the day is the tawny frogmouth !!! ^_^ these birds grow up to 34 to 53cm long, and r native to australia !!! >_< every source i looked at described this bird as having a “large head” which i thought was vvv funny ^_^ their diet consists of insects, worms, centipedes, spiders, snails, slugs, frogs, reptiles, small birds, and some small mammals !! >_<

for some reason tumblr CANCELLED my post the last time i tried to do this -_- but today’s third bird / animal of the day is the peregrine falcon!!!

these birds r anywhere between 34 to 58cm length, and r native to almost everywhere on earth, excluding extreme polar conditions, tropical rainforests, and very very high mountains ^_^ they r VERY fast, with their top speed being 390km/h !!! >_<

what of wilsons bird of paradise ? Reminds me of Lightbulb.

today’s second bird / animal of the day is the wilson’s bird of paradise !!! these birds have a very colorful and eyecatching appearance, with their tails having a very unique handlebar moustache shape !!!! ^_^ they r around 16cm in length, and r native to indonesia !

SNAIL :3

today’s first animal of the day is the snail !!! ^_^ your typical garden snail is only around 5-9cm in length, while the giant snail is a whopping 20cm long and weigh almost a kilo !!! >_< garden snails r native to all over the world, and r found in almost any habitat you could possibly think of !!!
