Recently, I've read some tweets about how racist and xenophobic Italy is and I can say yes, it is but WE ARE NOT ALL LIKE THAT.
There are people who are open minded, kind, gentle and respectful with strangers who came from another country; people who want to learn your culture, your language, your life; people who will respect you because they know what it means to be discriminated and mocked.
Italy can be a difficult country for foreigners 'cause our government has instill in us the fear of "the differents".
I was very sorry when I read those tweets because I thought that we were better than that.. But I know that, in some ways, we are better than that!
So, people, I'm Italian and I love "the differents", WE love you all!
Don't cry if someone who claims to be Italian calls you "monkey" or tells you to come back where you came from because they are not Italians.
