bucktommy fic recs - all completed (part five)

little by little by mediawhore - a missing scene of buck and tommy during and after the wedding in 8x05. this fic is one of the softest things i've ever read, i actually can't stop grinning every time i read it. a must read.

all the ghosts feel alright by milominderbinder - a different first meeting au where buck and tommy meet at a halloween party buck was dragged to against his will. this was so fucking cute. i want an endless supply of au meetings for these two bc reading about them meeting for the first time is one of my favourite things to do.

from the shallows to the deepest end by buckandtommy - another au where buck, who still thinks he's just an ally, signs up to grindr to find a fake boyfriend to take to this parents' anniversary party, tommy agrees to be his date. this was adorable, would 100% read again.

peanut butter by judymarch15 - buck comes home after a rough shift and every little thing starts to build up until he snaps, which leads to a small argument with tommy. this was so domestic and sweet, tommy's communication skills are unmatched. i love them so much.

fever's high with the lights down low by kirkaut - buck takes care of tommy after a long shift. romance, softness, smut, and a little bit of a daddy kink - which i don't normally like but this fic is so good it doesn't even matter - they're so in love, i actually can't handle it.

histocompatibility by rc_mclachlan - another different first meeting au, this time they meet in a bar where buck gets drunk and tells tommy his life story. tommy is smitten. this fic was so fucking sweet it made me wanna cry, another must read. i also highly recommend reading the other fics this author has written, their writing is so good.

a screw or two by aringofsalt - another grindr fic where buck still thinks he's just an ally. he uses the app to find a handyman when his sink suddenly breaks - enter tommy and queue the quickest sexuality speedrun ever. this is so cute, i love them.

dreaming out loud by breakaway71 - buck and tommy have the kid conversation. this is so sweet.

Carlos Reyes Character Study

I have so many thoughts on Carlos lately I’ve always loved how complex he is but this season had expanded so many things for me and I just have to get my thoughts on it all out otherwise I might explode. I have metas for a bunch of other LS characters planned too. You can see my Marjan meta here. I think the next one will probably be TK.

From the beginning, I’ve always seen Carlos as a very complex character. I never believed him to be perfect bc it was so obvious to me that he wasn’t. Go back to s1 when we first see him as someone who appears to have it all together but even in 1x02 we begin to see that it’s not actually the case. Interestingly, I actually feel I predicted a lot of what we see of the Reyes family dynamics even back in s1 when we knew nothing and I know some other people did as well. The way he reacted to him and TK hooking up for the first time was a big clue.

Even in the immediate aftermath of their hookup as he lies on that couch, you can tell this man is gone. He offers this guy he’s just met a ride to work (probably bc he was hoping for another quickie) and tells TK to text him even as TK rushes out the door. I’ll bet Carlos himself never imagined he could ever be this forward with a guy that he would be the one doing the chasing. This is the very first sign of the light TK brought into Carlos’s life. For the first time, Carlos wants to be the one doing the chasing. He didn’t deal with it well at first of that there is no doubt. We see this towards the end of the very same episode.

Lokius my beloved, they slay so hard together

Owen Wilson will never know just how much I love his little ordinary time-man character. In a cinematic universe of super geniuses and sorcerers and aliens and enhanced soldiers and thunder gods, all with crazy abilities, I love his littlest normal human analyst who started out solving time mysteries so, SO much, in my very heart, soul, bones. He’s just some guy but like… he’s NOT just some guy at the same time. Some of my MCU favourites I’ve had over a decade of getting to know them, yet here Mobius is, sitting comfy in one of my atriums like he’s always been there. He’s so soft and soothing and reasonable and safe. If I had to choose between travelling to all sorts of weird and wacky and wonderful places with the Gaurdians, maybe Thor, or sitting in a Burger King gossiping over a Whopper and a Slushie with Mobius, I’d absolutely choose Mobius. He just has this vibe. I totally get why Loki would sit eternally alone to let Mobius live freely. Just a lovely, stand-up lil fella. He is coded like a well-needed hug. Thinking of him right now.

AITA for telling my boyfriend that he doesn't genuinely hate me?

Context: I (18, male) have been dating my boyfriend (20, male) for a few months. We didn't get along at first; I'd even go as far as say we hated each other. I won't get into it, but because of a mutual he resented me, and I started to resent him too.

A while later, however, we were forced to work together... and well we worked really well when we were together. It was during this that we genuinely started to get to know each other; though I'll admit that knowing how similar we were made me want to continue to hate him, since I didn't like seeing that. However, we were forced to work together again, and it became easier and easier to see past our resentment and we became friends.

So, as you can see, we've had a tough journey. When we became friends, it was a slow process. My boyfriend is a strange combination between too blunt and honest and yet unwilling to admit his so called softer feelings. So even though we were friends, we traded insults, but it was obvious our hatred for each other had gone.

Eventually, we started dating. And it's been wonderful. My friends were worried that because of our past, it would be tough, but it genuinely hasn't been. We don't really have fights, and if we do, we end up communicating our feelings pretty well. We go on a mix of fun dates and quiet, peaceful dates. I'm really happy with my relationship and with him.

The problem came up, however, a week ago. I stayed the night over and since I woke up earlier than him, I decided to make breakfast. I was wearing his sweater, still half asleep, with a bed head, cooking. He came in after a while and kind of just watched.

After a few minutes I turned around and asked him what was up. He said "You are adorable. I resent your very existence." and I laughed a little because I thought it was a joke. But then he got upset asking what was so funny. And I explained how I appreciated the compliment and that it was funny the way he said it. He got more upset and said it wasn't a compliment and he genuinely hated me.

I rolled my eyes at him and told him that he doesn't genuinely hate me, as he is my boyfriend. We've never said the 'I love you' or even 'I like you' but it's not like we're subtle. He's especially very obvious with his affection. He doesn't like touch, normally, but he likes to hold my hand when we're together; and if he's feeling particularly against touching, he'll ask me to hold on to his shirt or hold on to mine. He's there whenever I need him and he's there whenever I feel alone. He knows everything about me, and he always remembers small things like my favorite color or the order of which I set my plate during different meals. I feel like it's really obvious that he doesn't hate me.

But now he's upset and being all grumpy. I genuinely don't understand how he could think that he hates me after all this.

So, AITA?
