how did you get so good at anatomy anf colors/rendering?

i never show these bc theyre really not interesting but basically by doing a metric shit ton of studies (which i should rlly be more consistent in tbh)

a huge game changer for me is gestures. i get it, theyre boring and everything but it really does help in making bodies look more natural. when you do gestures avoid drawing skeletons focus on the form itself and the shapes. in quick gestures its fine but as much as possible try to avoid drawing stickmen. as a base its okay but try to get it as accurate as you can with the limited amount of time you have. also dont do what i did and try to use too many lines, focus on the flow of the pose and dont get too caught up on the details.

study anatomy, as in actually study it. see how each muscle works and how it interacts with other muscles or other bones. how does it look like when its flexed? relaxed? the front, back, and side? etc etc. then do more gestures and try to identify where theyre located. eventually all this information would retain and itll become muscle memory to you. youll also train your eye to see if theres any anatomical errors the more you look at bodies.

for coloring and rendering i dont know a lot except for basic color theory 😭 but a moot of mine (@/maivalette) has an amazing tut on colors and rendering here :3 and theres also another tut on colors i saw while scrolling around here bc tbh i have no idea what im doing half of the time when it come to those things LMFAO

I'm boo, she/her, 20 years old. Currently feeling very lost at life (and my failures), but at least I know angst and comedy makes me happy. I mostly write and draw about tropes I like. I'm very new to writing/drawing so please bear with me :D

Remember you are not in a race. You're just trying to live as best as you can. Don't compare yourself or your performance to other people - you have your own unique circumstances and challenges to overcome, and that's totally okay.

Someday in the future, we will feel happy and safe - it's only a matter of time. Just hold out for a little while longer. We can do this!
