currently about halfway through the fifth shatter me book (defy me) and im so serious guys what the hell is going on. this is so off the actual rails like. half the characters backstories are actually entirely different now?? the MAIN PROTAGONIST is now being called a different name because apparently the name shes had for four books isnt her real one?? the main villains just like back from the dead?? the entire main plot is being shifted around around at random?? every page is a new adventure in this one ill tell you.

i feel like this book is just tahereh mafi going "you know everything you learned about the world and the characters in the first three books? that's actually not true lmao" repeatedly and i mean its fun but like WHY IS NOTHING REAL
