This rosehip micellar water I stumbled upon is great for self-love magick!
I know it can be discouraging to wash the art off of your face after a night out, but when remove it with rose water… It reinforces the fact that you’re still just as valued and lovely without the makeup. 💕 Plus it smells of roses and leaves your face incredibly soft and clean.

Grabbing Coffee with a Spirit
Tumblr media
During the holidays, I like to think my home is open to the energies of those that have gone before me.  My grandfather died on December 2, 2010, and his loss weighed heavily during the holiday season that proceeded his death (and every one thereafter.)  I use this technique, in particular, to welcome his spirit (and many others) into my home.
You’ll need:
Two cups of coffee (or tea, or any drink, really)
A spoon
Writing utensil
Paper
Tarot deck
Directions
Start by preparing a space to sit, sip, and contemplate.  Prepare your beverage to your liking, and repeat for the spirit you will be welcoming into your home.  As you set up the space and finish making the drinks, open your notebook and shuffle your cards.
Place the Death card beside the spirit’s designated mug.
Note that the Death card in Tarot is not always representative of a physical death.  Death is transition and transformation.  One day, a river will flood because of a storm.  The water will rise and rush towards the sea.  From the sea, water will be evaporated, and then rain will once more pour onto land.  This is the natural cycle of all life.  It is not destruction; it is transformation.
Using your spoon, begin stirring the liquid in your own cup counter-clockwise (to the left) and repeat the following words:
Spirit of __________ (insert name), I ask that you come and sit with me a while. Let us speak as we once did. I offer this drink for you to feel warmth again. I offer this seat so that you will experience comfort. I offer my ears so that you will be heard.
Finish stirring and set the spoon aside.  Shuffle the deck once more and begin asking questions.  For every question, there should be one card pulled.  Each question should be written down in the notebook (so as to not forget them) along with the card that is being given as an answer.
You can spend as much time as you feel needed asking questions and talking.  Most of the time, when I am welcoming family members’ spirits into my home, I tell them a little bit about what is going on in my life.
During the visit, drink your coffee, and enjoy their company.  When you come to the end of your cup, thank them for their time.  You can signal the end of the conversation by placing the spoon in your empty cup.
I often invite them to stay throughout the holidays, to come and go as they please.
You can dispose of their drink once you are through by pouring it down the drain, outside, or drinking it yourself.

Predict the Weather in a Cup of Coffee
Tumblr media
This is a long standing trick used by farmers and backpackers alike.
Watch the bubbles when you pour your cup of coffee. Bubbles gathering in the center indicate a high-pressure system, which makes the coffee’s surface convex or higher in the middle. Since bubbles are mostly air, they migrate to the highest point. High-pressure means sunshine and cloudless skies.  Same if the bubbles push to the edges quickly.
If the bubbles form a ring around the sides of the mug, however, the surface is concave and indicates a low-pressure system. Expect rain or overcast with in 12 hours. If bubbles slowly move to the edge of the cup the weather will clear soon enough.

🕯️ Reading Candles for Yes-or-No Questions 🕯️
Tumblr media
🔥 High, steady flame - Yes.
🔥 Low, steady flame - No.
🔥 Short, weak flame - No.
🔥 Dancing flame - Needs more focus. Re-ground, concentrate, and ask again.
🔥 Violently flickering flame - Strong no. Take this as a warning (if you are positive the flickering is not caused by any outside force).
🔥 Sputtering and crackling flame - There is more to your answer than a simple yes or no.
🔥 Dual-Flame - Thinking, wait for your answer.
🔥 Flame leaning to the left - Yes.
🔥 Flame leaning to the right - No.
🔥 Candle will not light - Now is not the right time to ask.
🔥 Candle will not go out - You are not done yet. There is more to your answer that you need to hear.
🔥 Candle goes out on its own before giving an answer - Now is not the right time to ask.

Plants for the Not-So-Green-Witch
Tumblr media
I actually have a couple people asking me about plants with these qualities:
Hard to kill
Pretty
Inexpensive
Survive in little to no light
I get it, not every witch is lucky enough to have a yard or even a balcony. Sometimes not even a windowsill is big enough to hold the planter. Some witches aren’t super savvy with remembering to water their plant friends, busy life, I get it! Maybe you’re in a dorm room with one window that doesn’t get a lot of sunlight. I’m here to help~
First off, my absolute favorite.

Uses of Moon Water
Tumblr media
Moon water – water that has been charged by the moon – has several uses in Witchcraft and magick. Many people charge their moon water in the light of the full moon, but it can be created during other moon phases as well. Like with spellcasting and rituals, the full moon is often seen as the most powerful time to charge your moon water. However, you might also charge your water to fit correspondences of other moon phases, too! And of course, you might also try to time charging your moon water based on the time of year.
Below are some general ideas about how you might decide to use your moon water.
Uses of Moon Water:
Energising, cleansing, and charging crystals – moon water is great for cleansing and empowering crystals! You can place your crystals in a jar with some moon water, to help amplify their energy. Make sure to check your crystals can be placed in water, though! Some crystals aren’t safe in water.
Bathing and cleaning yourself – you can add some moon water to your bath, or use some moon water to wash your hands or face as a cleansing ritual, blessing, or bath magick.
Drinking moon water – take a couple of sips of moon water each day to empower yourself with the moon’s energy. If you choose to drink your moon water, make sure you use spring or distilled water when making your moon water and keep it in the fridge. You could even use some moon water in your coffee or tea!
Making potions, cleansing sprays etc. – utilise the power of the moon and its correspondences to enhance your potions, or use moon water to make a little cleansing spray to use in your room or home.
Watering your plants or adding some moon water to flower vases – you might decide to water your plants with moon water, as a way to enhance your connection with them. You could also add some moon water to your vase of flowers.
Making fragrances or perfumes – you could also use your moon water to make perfumes or fragrances, to amplify your intentions or as part of a glamour spell!
Representing the Goddess and/or your intentions and goals on your altar – you could place some moon water in a container and put this on your altar, as representation of the Goddess and/or your intentions and goals.
Diffusing moon water in your home – you could place some moon water in an aromatherapy diffuser with your choice of essential oils, to help clear the air and enhance the effects of the oils you use.
Thinking about moon phases and correspondences:
As I mentioned before, you might want to think about your intentions and timings of when you charged your moon water. For example, May’s Full Flower Moon is often associated with love, health, and romance. So, water charged under May’s full moon might be useful in empowering crystals associated with love or the heart chakra, or enhancing spells related to compassion, love, romance, healing, and self-acceptance. Similarly, you might think about the season you charged your moon water, and what kinds of associations this season has for you.
Remember – the important part of any ritual, spellwork, or magick is your intentions, and what this means for YOU. My list is non-exhaustive – there are so many possibilities of what you can do! The important thing is to do what feels right for you personally.
I hope you enjoyed this post!
Blessed be <3

Midas’ Hand Oil
“Everything you touch Shall turn into gold.”
In a base of sunflower oil, blend together : - 1 bay leaf (“laurels of victory” it is + prosperity, protection) - 1 drop of honey (precious gold in liquid form + to sweeten the minds) - 1 gold piece (coin, gold scraps, gold leaf powder, a ring…) - 1 pinch of nutmeg (luck and success) - 3 cloves (to open all paths, to clear all ways + success, courage, strength) - 1 zest of orange, or its peel, or 7 drops of essential oil (orange was once a rarity and therefore treasurable + success, prosperity, joy: traditionally, so that people are happy to do according to your will) - cinnamon, at will (energetic and magical boost, for charisma)
Anoint the mouth (so as to speak well), the temples (where sits the “crown” + so as to think well), the third eye (so as to see well), the hands (so that your actions are successful and flourishing)
Utilisation : Use with caution - this is a very potent oil and, as its name suggests, should be handled with care. Do not overuse, and do not be greedy of its results. Always be careful what you wish for. Suitable for all issues requiring success : job interviews, exams, love affairs, games and gambling alike.

Types of Divination
I have touched a little bit on divination before in one of previous posts and I believe I did mention that I was going to be doing one of these post, so here you go!
I am not the most educated when it comes to divination, I know what I know and it works, so why should I try anything else? Because growth, girl! Because expansion of the mind! Because it’s damn amazing to know all these witchy things! That’s why!
So upon doing my mystical research, I honestly learnt some really cool forms of divination that I’m annoyed I didn’t know before, so here are the different forms of divination :
Tarot Cards - the most common form of divination on this planet (besides crystal balls). You go to a carnival and happen across a fortune teller in a caravan, what has she most likely got on the table in front of her? A crystal ball and tarot cards. The only difference here is that anyone who actually uses tarot cards knows that this is not going to “tell you your future”, it’s simply vague guideline, just some probable insight into the forces at work. When I first started I relied on this handy book that helped me translate every card through the reading, now I only look at it every now and then. Three-card spreads are my favourite! You can literally use them for anything. I personally don’t like just drawing cards, i lay them out and hover my hand over the top moving across the spread out cards and whenever I feel a slight tug I know that’s the card. I go over it a few times just to be sure, but i just don’t like picking random cards, not my style.
Nordic Runes - another one I am very familiar with, created by Odin and given to humankind as a gift. (”Oh, they’re lovely, thanks.”). When I first got into the craft I think it was one of the first few things I was taught out of my reading and the symbols and their meanings are fairly well known. I have passed a handful of strangers with runes tattooed on them and when asked about them they actually knew the meanings and details of the runes. Runes are similar to the tarot in the sense that they are a guideline not so much a prediction, also generally used to address issues. Readings are done by putting all the runes in a pouch and drawing, depending on the question, the select number of runes out. My go to number is always three. There are some amazing DIY’s for runes, but the real magic is in the carving of the runes. I really like the way they look when burnt into wooden disks, especially if the bark is still intact in the edges.
Celtic Ogham  - this is one I had surprisingly never heard of. Out of all the books I have read on Celtic magic and they failed to inform me of this? What the heck, guys? So, from my understanding, there are 25 letters in the Ogham alphabet; 20 if you wanna be super traditional. They have so many correspondences I will honestly need to learn them all, but now is not the time. It was supposedly created by Ogma, to show off how well spoken he was, or something like that. (I only skimmed the article when it came to this part, sorry guys.) Now the method for using the Celtic Ogham is very similar to runes. The symbols are normally carved onto wooden staves, placed into a pouch and drawn out when seeking the answer to a question. Very cool and I plan to DIY a set of these someday.
Tasseomancy - the art of reading tea leaves. This is one I haven’t tried, purely because drinking tea with loose tea leaves just sounds terrible. Basically you need to make your tea with the loose leaves and drink it. You have to leave a little bit of the tea left over to swirl the tea leaves around so that they can form a pattern. Just do it a few times so the leaves aren’t spread out everywhere. You might end up with one big picture or you will end up with a few little ones. In this case go clockwise around the cup. It works kind of like a timeline. Now look at your blobs and try to see the images in the blobs. There are plenty of guides for figuring out what these images mean or you could just go with your gut feeling.
Automatic Writing - this method uses the spirit realm to get messages. For this you would need to be in a meditative state, enter with a clear mind or a question or thought and, with a pen and paper in hand, just let the words come to you. You can even write the question or subject on the piece of paper and let the spirits take over. Like with any form of divination, you will need practice. If you have been sitting there for 20 minutes and haven’t gotten anything then maybe take a break and try to clear your mind a bit more. This method is used by loads of mediums for getting answers or just connecting to people who have passed on. I would advise that we take caution when it comes to using this method as it can open doors for spirits, not all of the things you’re opening yourself up to are friendly, so always make sure you are protected and ready for whatever there is to come.
Osteomancy - reading bones, being South African I’m fairly familiar with the cultural background of osteomancy. The Sangomas (basically the medicine men) of the villages have been known to use this method of divination. The way it’s done is the bones were placed into a bowl or pouch and mixed with various stones, shells and feathers and shaken out onto a mat. Reading it relies solely on intuition and requires a lot of training to master. Depending on the bone and it’s position on the mat, the way it’s facing, the objects surrounding it. In my opinion this is one of the most difficult forms of divination to master.
Scrying - this one is also pretty common and comes in loads of forms (I will need to do a separate post for all the different methods of scrying. There’s fire scrying, water scrying, using a black mirror, etc. There tons of different methods but I’m going to use the example of water scrying. Most people like using reflective surfaces to scry since it is the easiest. Simply clear your mind again or keep the intent in the back of your mind and focus on the water. Follow all the slight ripples until you’re fully connected to the small body of water. You could see images or shapes on the surface or you could see mental images. It’s different with everyone and what the universe is trying to show you.
Pendulum Divination - the easiest to make, since you can use your own necklace as a pendulum, this is purely for yes or no questions and is basically a simplified version of a ouija board. Again, take caution when working with spirits. You might think you’re talking to a recently deceased family member or one of your ancestors and it could end up being something else completely and be in a bit of trouble. When using the pendulum some people use sheets for more advanced questions but I would say just using the four directions; left, right, front and back; for answers. Ask some basic questions that you will know the answer to first to see which direction is “yes” and which is “no”. Once you have that down you can ask away.
Numerology - using numbers in divination. Numbers hold a lot of magical significance (any witch can tell you that). There are specific numbers that we like to stick to and we stick to it for a reason. Odd numbers are related to a feminine energy, while even numbers are related to masculine energy. Different numbers have different meanings and in order to use this method research should be done on the different meanings of numbers. Play around with numbers in magic. use numerology to find your birth number, name number, fate number, your pinnacle numbers, etc.
These are all the methods of divination I could cover for now. Watch this space for upcoming, in depth tutorials for each of these methods.

Glitch...or a ghost?
Hello my lovelies! sorry for the weird post earlier my draft thing didn’t save over because my phone and wi-fi sucks so Ill edit this with screenshots when I ahve better connection. anywho, storytime!
So today on my life being a political/marketing gypsy, I assisted my collegue in the odd job of navigation to help a couple in a room next to us purchase  truck.
We do the job, get food, and head home and set the map to our destination
We are about 20 minutes into our destination then this odd loop around appears.
This weird, non necessity loop. out of nowhere. My colleague and I assume google maps is smoking some crack again (if you use google maps you get this)
So whatevs, go through this loop and go back where we are going
As soon as I saw that the loop carried us to, I got chills.
it was a cemetery with a rugged looking church on the outside of the circle, the perimeter scattered with disheveled willow trees.
My mind starts racing through everything that could possibly connect a meaning, sign, what brought me here. who brought me here? why?
My coworker jokingly rolls down the windows to kick out any possible spirits chilling in the back seat.I ask him when he no longer needs the GPS so I can take the screenshot of this area for future reference in research. It got creepier.
My starting destination was the beginning curve cemetery perimeter
Ive seen all of google maps glitches, as my life is nothing but travelling. But I have never, never, seen this. My other coworker insists it was just a program error but I’ve never seen my google restart a destination, It’s sent me in circles but it’ll show that.
I have no idea what this means or what it is, but I cleansed myself just in case.
The information that I have gotten so far is that its a church with a front cemetery for their deceased members. I know this is a common tradition especially in south states. But this has been especially unsettling. I want to see what I can gather. Until then, stay tuned

Lately I’ve been really digging using index cards for spells. They burn incredibly well and fast, and you can create pocket sized vision boards, they make great paper poppets for external (ie: a target other than yourself) spell work and can fit in just about any sized altar space for portals and touchstones.
Almost all of the spells I’ve cast over the past few months have either been potions/elixirs or index card workings.
