To the 10 people that ship ShinOji (Shinsou x Ojirou) here’s a tiny ship fanfic idea called “How Shinsou and Ojirou Became Friends in a Week”

Day 1:

Ojirou gets asked out by a student in Gen Ed. He’s surprised because usually, he’s the guy who doesn’t get noticed and def does not get asked out, but the other’s confession is so heartfelt and cute that he agrees to go on a date. They exchange numbers and spend the whole afternoon after classes texting and sending cat pictures to each other. Ojirou is happy.

Day 2:

Ojirou is still pretty happy and everyone notices (as there’s a little wag to his tail). He gets a text from his new maybe dating person and they ask if Ojirou wants to eat lunch with them. He agrees and Class A nudges him in a “ooooh you got a dateeee” kind of way. Ojirou is happy but he notices that Shinsou keeps looking at hin throughout lunch. It’s weird but well, Shinsou’s a weird guy right? His day ends with more texting, slight flirting, and cat photos. Lots of cat photos.

Day 3:

Ojirou is still happy and, even though it’s only been three days, he feels confident that this new relationship is going to work. The lunches were nice, the texting is nice, everything is nice and he’s happy with that. However, at the end of the day he gets cornered by a very glare-y Shinsou. At first, Ojirou is wary because well, it’s Shinsou. Of course he’s a bit wary of the guy.

But then Shinsou begins to talk and begins to…warn him? About Ojirou’s new “friend”. Turns out, that student is in Shinsou’s class and they only confessed to Ojirou in hopes of somehow weaseling their way closer to Class A’s “hotties”. Of which Ojirou isn’t.

And well, as much as Ojirou doesn’t want to believe Shinsou, he kind of does believe him. It makes sense that he’s not special enough to warrent something like a confession. And… well… Ojirou’s seen how Shinsou acted during Joint Training. He wouldn’t lie about something like this for petty reasons. So, as wary and disappointed Ojirou is, he believes Shinsou.

Day 4:

After a night of scrolling through past sent text messages, Ojirou can confidently say he’s been played like the world’s worst fiddle. Yup, nothing in the texts seem to scream “I like you!” Cat pictures aside, they’re more of a one sided conversation. So before class Ojirou goes to the student, apologizes and rejects them.

Honestly, he wasn’t expecting the slap and the student to yell at how they never wanted to go out with someone so boring and plain anyway. But well, that’s just that.

What he’s more surprised by is Shinsou, who is lurking behind the corner. He doesn’t say anything, just gestures for Ojirou to follow him and leads him to the nurse so that Ojirou can get ice. It’s sweet in a weird, Shinsou-way.

Class A all tell Ojirou that he’ll find the right person next time and that that “Gen Ed clown had not idea what they were missing out on!” Lunch is eaten with his friends and Ojirou receives no cat pictures at night.

Day 5:

To his surprise, Shinsou is lurking outside the Class A dorm in the morning. When Ojirou sees him, Shinsou merely stares st Ojirou before gesturing for him to follow. They walk in silence up until UA becomes visible then Shinsou asks why Ojirou believed him. And Ojirou tells him, truthfully, that Shinsou never gave him a reason not to believe. Sure, if Shinsou approached him right after the Sports Festival he would’ve been more suspicious. But Ojirou saw Shinsou at Joint Training and well, if Midoriya, Kaminari, and Asui could trust him then Ojirou sees no reason as to why he shouldn’t trust him too. Don’t get him wrong, he doesn’t completely forgive Shinsou yet. But he trusts him.

Shinsou doesn’t say anything as he walks him to the Class A door. When Shinsou does speak, all he says is that he’ll see Ojirou at lunch. Which he does. They share a table together in silence.

Ojirou is beyond confused.

Day 6:

Shinsou is once again outside the dorm in the morning. Like a grumpy stray purple cat. Once again, he follows Ojirou to class and only speaks when they near the school.

“They’re spreading rumors about you. The person you rejected is I mean. I told everyone in my class that it was all a lie but just in case they don’t believe me….”

His voice trails off then but what he doesn’t say finally answers Ojirou’s question of why Shinsou is hanging out with him: it’s the other’s weird way of protecting him from cornering students and possible bullying.

They once again eat lunch together but this time, Ojirou tries a little harder to make conversation. He doesn’t get a lot of responses from Shinsou until he mentions seeing cats near the area he skateboards in on campus.

“You board?”

“Uh…yeah?”

“Cool….I bike.”

Conversation ends once again and Ojirou feels like he understands Shinsou a little bit more.

Day 7:

It’s when Ojirou, at around midday with his skate board in hand, is heading out of the dorms that he bumps into Shinsou. Who is once again waiting outside, very cat-like, with his bike.

“I want to see the cats.” Is all he says.

At this point, Ojirou kind of gets Shinsou. Kind of.

They skate and bike over to where the cats are and Ojirou swears that some of the eyebags on the other’s face disappear as they stare at the cats. And it’s nice, in a weird way. Hanging out with Shinsou is nice.

“Did you do this with them?”

“Hm?”

“The cats. Did you look at the cats with that person you were going out with?”

“We were barely going out,” Ojirou quickly clarifies (for some reason), “just exchanged numbers and sent cat pictures to each other. Though, I should probably delete their number now.”

It’s after he deletes it that something baps at his phone screen. It’s not a cat, it’s Shinsou.

“If you have extra space for a number now, do you wanna add mine?”

Before Ojirou can even process that question, too shocked at being asked to accept Shinsou’s number, Shinsou plucks the still opened phone from his hand and adds his digits.

“There,” he says and, to Ojirou’s surprise, the tips of Shinsou’s ears are red and his cheeks are definitely flushed, “you have it now. So you better send me cat photos.”

Ojirou blinks.

“Y-yeah,” he stutters, “I will,” he promises.

He swears he sees Shinsou smile into his scarf as he agrees.

It’s weird. Shinsou’s weird. But in a weird way, Ojirou also thinks he’s nice.

Canon (but really Fanon) Dadzawa Stans: it's so sweet how Aizawa really cares about Izuku! Sure, he's always threatening to expel him and refuses to actually help him with OFA, but he's always protecting him! Sure, he calls Izuku Problem Child over a rescue operation that wasn't even Izuku's idea in the first place and for having the nerve to try and defend himself against his bully, but it's such a cute nickname! Isn't it great how he's clearly the best father figure for Izuku to have, even though he has something against him and only realizes the error of his ways towards the end of the story while never apologizing to him?

Canon All Might who calls Izuku "Young Midoriya", "my Prince of Nonsense", "my boy", and "Squirt/Kid (depending on the translation), carried him home and scolded him for pushing himself too hard during the Takoba Beach clean up, only wants him to try his best and praises him for helping those around him, and tagged along during the Dark Izuku arc so he could make sure Izuku was getting enough food and rest:

Heathers Candy Store AU

This is another completely random AU that I thought of

An alternate title is The Heathers bribe Veronica with candy AU

In this AU Veronica never meets the Heathers in the bathroom and so she never joins the Heathers and stays a loser

She graduates and goes to a college near Sherwood with Martha and Betty

She moves into an apartment with them and to make rent she starts looking for a job

After a bit of searching she sees that there's a job opening at a store called Heather's Candy Store and she thinks 'why not its a candy store how hard can it be'

It turns out she got the name of the store wrong

Its actually Heathers' Candy Store

If she had saw that then she would never have applied

She shows up one day after she gets called in for an interview

Its a quaint little store in the Sherwood Mall, its not super big but it smells amazing

She goes in and who is at the register but Heather McNamara

Veronica does a double take whenever she sees her and she prays that she doesn't recognize her

She doesn't

She goes up to Mac and explains that she's here for the interview and Mac yells for Heather to come out bc the interviewee is here

At this point Veronica puts two and two together and realizes that the name of the store is not Heather's but Heathers' and that this is the Heathers' store

She debates just bolting but she decides to just go to the interview and then politely decline the job and look somewhere else

While she's waiting she looks around and she sees Duke working behind a glass screen making some kind of candy

At this point she's just more confused that the high school bullies opened up a candy store at the mall instead of like, she doesn't know, getting rich people jobs or just living off their parents wealth

Then the mythic bitch herself, Heather Chandler, walks out of the back room and Veronica's suddenly taken back to high school, doing everything in her power to keep her head down and stay out of the warpath of the color coded cunts and to protect Martha and Betty from their wrath

Internally panicking, she awkwardly shuffles into the back room, wishing the interview was over already

She expects to be relentlessly grilled about her qualifications and what she can bring to their store and laughed out after she gets rejected

Instead Chandler comes to her with a pleasant attitude and smiles and tells her how they would be happy to have her at their store

Veronica is taken aback at the emotional whiplash and she wonders if she entered an alternate timeline where the Heathers are nice

She still initially wants to reject the job offer because she's not fully sure if this is a troll and she doesn't trust them despite their friendly demeanor

But then Chandler tells her about their flexible working schedule, decent pay and free candy with every shift

Veronica takes a moment to think about it and she realizes that this is probably the best deal she's gonna get as a college student seeking part-time work so against her better judgement she agrees to work there

Also the free candy is a good incentive too, she has a big sweet tooth

She goes back to her apartment and tells Martha and Betty about how the fucking Heathers opened a candy store and they are just as shocked as she was

They both think that this is a trap of some sort and she needs to quit but then Veronica tells them about the pay and free candy and they admit that those are good benefits

Martha pulls her aside later and tells her to be careful, the Heathers might try and trick her like they did with her and a fake note from Ram during homecoming last year

Fast forward to her first day of work

She arrives at the store when the mall opens and she gets her uniform which is like one of those classic striped ones

Everyone's is color coded obviously

The way the store is set up is that Mac runs the register bc she has people skills, Duke is the one who actually makes the candy, and Chandler does the administrative stuff plus paperwork and all that other bs

The plan is to teach Veronica both the register and how to make candy in the event that Duke or Mac can't work or need extra help

To say it goes poorly is an understatement

For the register, Veronica has no real idea of what she's doing and theres all these different measurements and prices she has to remember and the store is much busier than expected so she had less time to learn than expected

Mac is constantly having to come over and show her something or fix a mistake she made

They decide to move her over to the making candy part and somehow she does even worse

She mixes up a lot of things and ruins a few batches of different stuff

By the closing she feels super embarrassed that she couldn't do some simple stuff and she's pretty sure she's gonna get fired, especially considering that she screwed up in front of the Heathers

But to her surprise the Heathers apologize to her

They say they should've known that Saturday was gonna be a busy day and not a good day to start her training and they take the blame for her failures

They say they're all gonna come in early tomorrow and teach her right this time

Veronica is just dumbstruck that the motherfucking Heathers actually apologized to someone and just goes uh huh yeah before running off

She goes home and tells Martha and Betty and they're convinced that the Heathers are gonna pull some kind of trick to get their revenge for her messing up

Veronica is not fully convinced, sure the Heathers were mean in High School, well mean is an understatement, they were downright evil, but they were still just teenagers and they have had time to change

Even still she goes into work the next day keeping an eye out for any funny business

She goes in half expecting to see the Heathers just standing there ready to laugh at her

But instead they take the time to teach her everything and point out little tips on how to remember certain things

Mac even took the time to print out a sheet and tape it next to the register with all the prices and instructions on how to ring up different candy

Veronica is the first employee they've had and so they didn't really realize that a new employee would need time to learn the ropes

By the time they open Veronica has a handle on most things and while she still needs a little help here and there she's got a hang of most things

From then on things start to improve

While they work the Heathers talk to her about whatever and she learns a lot about them

She learns that Mac loves animals and has a pet rabbit named Munchkin and that she donates a portion of the profit to the local animal shelter each month

She learns that Duke likes to read classic books but they also bond over their shared love of all things creepy and just plain weird

And while she doesn't see much of Chandler she learns that she is truly dedicated to their business and that she really just wants to make candy that people will enjoy

Every day she comes home with her bag of leftover candy which her and Betty and Martha just consume

Things are looking up that is until she sees something she probably wasn't supposed to

She came in early one day bc she just happened to get to the mall early one day and she sees Mac and Duke making out on the counter

She quickly walks away and prays that they didn't see her, which luckily she didn't

She assumed the Heathers were just allies, they didn't strike her as gay, but she knew they weren't homophobes because they had made some rainbow candy and specifically sold it as pride

In hindsight that and the color coded outfits should have tipped her off but at the time the idea that the Heathers were anything but straight never crossed their mind

***Break bc word count limit is stupid***

If they would have been out at Westerburg they would have been even lower on the totem pole and Veronica and her friends, so the very idea that they were gay was unthinkable

She's a little awkward around them for the rest of the day but she eventually forgets about it and moves on

That is until a few weeks later the same thing happens but this time its Mac and Chandler that are making out

Luckily they don't see her either but Veronica is outraged that Mac is cheating on one of them, she doesn't know which but she's angered on behalf of whichever one

She's really cold to Mac that day, she doesn't respond to her attempts to make conversation, etc.

This really upsets Mac bc she doesn't know what she did or why Veronica is being so cold to her and eventually she starts crying

This pisses off Duke and Chandler and they demand to know whats Veronica's damage

Veronica admits that she saw Duke and Mac kissing one morning and this morning she saw Mac and Chandler kissing and that Mac is cheating on one of them

They all look at her and then they all just start laughing

Veronica is super confused as to why they are laughing at this really serious thing

It takes a few minutes before Duke calms down enough to explain that they're all in a polyamorous relationship which they explain to her is when multiple people are dating each other which the other's consent

Veronica goes ohhhhhhhh and apologizes to Mac which she accepts saying that it was perfectly reasonable, if she didn't know and saw what she say she would act the same way

They decide to tell her the story of their lives and why they decided to open a Candy Store

They assume she went to Westerburg and that's why she was so weary of them in the beginning (Veronica didn't notice they picked up on that) so they made an effort to be nice and welcoming to her to show that they've really changed since high school

They say that they've all been dating since Junior Year, Mac and Chandler since Freshmen, friends for years before that, and that they've always had a dream to open a Candy Store and just make and sell candy all day

Candy makes people happy and its just plain fun to make and in a way it makes them feel better about how they acted in school, they've hurt a lot of people but with their store they can put some good back into the world

Another first but they apologize to her for how they acted in high school, they didn't do anything to her specifically but they know how awful they were, but it was a kill or be killed situation which Veronica understands

She tells them that while she accepts their apology, there's someone else that they really need to apologize to, her friend Martha

The Heather's eyes widen as they remember who Veronica is

They tell her that one day they will apologize to Martha and explain everything, and Veronica says thats good enough for now

Now that the secret's out the Heathers are a lot more affectionate with each other around Veronica and it starts to make her feel a certain way

As a bisexual disaster herself she's always thought the Heathers were attractive, but with how genuine they were with her and how clear it was that they had changed and were remorseful for how they acted back at school she starts to develop feelings for them

As it turns out the Heathers also feel the same

It starts out with light flirting, just jokes that they say they can make now that the secrets out but it slowly turns into something more

Mac was always physically affectionate with everyone, but her touches start to linger and little longer than usual

When her and Duke talk about whatever and she makes Duke laugh and she looks Veronica in the eyes and it lasts just too long to be friendly

And she sees Chandler watch her interact with her gfs with this small smile on her face

Eventually there comes a day where things are really slow and her and Mac are standing at the register just talking and she makes Mac laugh and when she calms down she leans in for a kiss

Veronica, on autopilot bc this pretty girl is kissing her kisses back until her brain wakes up and goes 'VERONICA YOU IDIOT SHE IS IN A RELATIONSHIP' and she pulls away

Neither Duke or Chandler seem mad, they're more annoyed with Mac and they're like 'goddamnit Mac we weren't gonna tell her yet' and Veronica is just so confused

Basically they admit to her that they've liked her for a while now and they were planning to make this whole big surprise involving a crap ton of candy to ask her to join their relationship

Veronica, obviously going to join the relationship is like you guys didn't have to do all of that of course I'm gonna join

They decide to close early that day and just spend the entire day just eating candy and making out

However, Veronica knows they'res one last thing they have to do before she'll fully join

She invites the Heathers over to her apartment to finally make good on their promise to apologize to Martha and Betty for how they acted in high school

They decide to do it over dinner, and its really tense

No one is saying anything, and they're all just waiting for someone else to start talking

Eventually Veronica breaks the ice to tell them that the Heathers have something they would like to say to them and before they can open their mouths Martha launches into a rant about how horribly they treated her and her friends and how they tugged at her heartstrings and just layed into them

Once Martha calms down the Heathers begin to apologize

They say how they know what they did was wrong and that they wish they could take it all back but they can't and that all they can really do is move forward and try to make peace with the past

They also tell her their rationale for opening their store, the same as they told Veronica

They also offer her a pass which would allow her to get as much candy from their store as she pleases for free as a sign of goodwill

Martha stays silent for a moment before saying that she doesn't forgive them and probably never will, but she can't spend the rest of her life hating them and that she would also like to let the past be in the past and move forward

Veronica shows up to work a few days later when she is intercepted by Mac who puts a blindfold around her eyes and walks her towards the store where Chandler and Duke are waiting

The blindfold is removed to reveal that the store has a new sign stating "Heathers' + Veronica's Candy Store"

Why I believe that heather was LESBIAN coded (and how she and Leshawna were implied to be a thing)

Her lack of attraction to men

There are very very few times when even the possibility of Heather being attracted to men is apparent. Most of the times when Heather is approached she is shown to be very repulsed. The only time when we see her even slightly attracted to men is in this scene:

This I believe was feigned becuz... honestly just look! Gd... She was in front of a bunch of people and obviously needed to maintain her image of being a heterosexual woman in the mid 2000s. As u can see here, Heather is shown to be truly disgusted BY Justin and is more comfortable expressing that. She’s near Owen, someone who’s already established himself as the “fruitiest” character on the show.

She has no fundamental reason to find Justin unattractive at this point. This was back in season 1, and Justin hadn’t done anything outlandish or offensive. He was seen as universally attractive up till the middle of season 2 so for Heather to show disgust towards the bust of Justin is peculiar.

She sees heterosexual relationships as transactional:

She was so insistent on stopping Lindsay and Tyler from dating simply because they were on separate teams

She tends to see male/female relationships as a means of only getting farther in the game

Her relationship with men:

Most of the men on the show she interacts with are met with anger, hostility and disgust by her and while this isn’t inherent to lesbianism itself it is a result of the harmful yet ever present “man hating lesbian trope”. While Heather wasn’t very warm to any of her female counterparts either there is still a clear and stark difference as seen here:

So what ABOUT season 3:

Ok. In season 3 as we all know, Heather develops a crush on Alejandro yadda yah. But as we are just by looking into the show, NOWHERE was that attraction based on looks. It was status. Yeah, not all genuine attraction has to be based on looks but it seemed more as tho Heather felt the need to BE attracted to Alejandro because of how “worthy of an adversary” he was. This is all indicative of comphet and even moreso because of how egged on the attraction was by everyone in the cast.

“Worthy Adversary”:

Honestly this is bullshit. Leshawna was just as “worthy of an adversary” as Alejandro was and honestly way more because she didn’t HAVE to be manipulative to get people on her side. Sierra was actually an even stronger adversary than Alejandro and even managed to get Alejandro out of the game before Sierra was unfairly kicked off.

“They have a lot of sexual tension”:

*sighs*

Ok then let me raise you this:

Despite bickering and fighting in nearly all their scenes Leshawna and Heather are always seen together somehow

Like they weren’t friends (like at all) but if they hated each other that damn much then why were they always around one another. Nobody FORCED them to be together. They’re just always sitting next to each other or interacting in some way. But of course this is totally heterosexual, right?

Also this:

Like how could she know that? Leshawna left to bathe before Heather and Duncan even finished their challenge, so.......

Heather making it a point to not remember or call anyone on the show by their actual name except for Leshawna somehow even going as far as to correct Lindsay after she called her “Lefonda” this happened in the second episode btw

Always needing to start a fight just for the sake of starting a fight. This is apparent in their altercation in “Brunch of Disgustingness” when they were literally fighting over nothing. It got to the point where even Heather said in the confessional: “Ok, I could’ve probably played that better but Leshawna seriously creases me.”

It only goes to show how that altercation was never about having Bridgette in their alliances but just another excuse for Leshawna and Heather to fight

Also despite Heather always being angered by Leshawna she never ever made an effort to get her eliminated or even get revenge on her. Like it went so far as in season two, after everyone had turned against Leshawna, Heather went out of her way to defend her.

Heather and Leshawna were also originally written to BE friends for camp tv

“They had good buildup/writing”:

Again, Heather and Leshawna had twice as much buildup as Heather and Alejandro so....

Heather and Alejandro’s relationship was the most generically written enemies to lovers hetero relationship ever. Argue wit ur grandma

“There’s no WAY they could’ve written a lesbian relationship in a children’s show in 2007”:

I didn’t think that I even needed to argue how stupid of a point this is but let’s get into it.

Lesbians were not “unheard of” in the mid 2000s. It wasn’t like as if there was this magical force field preventing writers from putting lesbians in kids shows. It was the fear of backlash from parents and the network that prevented it.

Fresh tv has HAD lesbian characters in their shows before

Lesbian coding is a thing specifically because of the reasons I listed above

Many times characters in shows have been written as lesbian and then put with male characters because of this. A very famous example is Velma from scooby do

Ok but what does this prove about Lesheather?

Leshawna:

Leshawna herself is lesbian coded too, it is not as apparent as Heather’s lesbian coding but it’s still there.

Her relationships with men:

Being a fat darkskin black woman she is left in a position where she is either completely derided or fetishized. Either way, she seems to enjoy male attention quite a lot. This can happen regardless of sexuality as we live in a white supremacist patriarchy that brainwashes into believing that the validation of men, especially white men MEANS something.

As a result Leshawna probably felt as though she needed to cling onto as many straws as she got which left her with Harold. Harold as we know, fetishizes Leshawna a LOT, but also makes Leshawna feel good. Something she does not normally feel due to the misogynoir and fatphobia she is often met with by the rest of the cast.

This very much leans towards the reason why Leshawna felt it necessary to link up with Harold before he left the island. This is further supported in the season 1 1hr special when she admitted to feeling emotional about the elimination and thus making hasty discussions

The attraction that Leshawna may have thought she once had completely diminishes once Harold shows strong interest in her (another sign of lesbianism, purr)

She continues to lead Harold on throughout seasons 2 and 3, as a means of finding some kind of security. Harold is her source of validation, but never once do we see them kiss or do anything outside of hugging. There’s a deleted scene in season 3 where they’re cuddling on the beach but Harold seems way more into it than Leshawna, who only seems to care about the validation.

On top of that, Leshawna didn’t even know that Harold was a man until the scene at the dock. Many lesbians tend to go for more feminine looking guys when going thru comphet and this only solidifies that. Especially when Leshawna felt the need to be the more “masculine” figure in the relationship

What about Justin?

Her attraction to Justin seems to be on the same level as Heather’s. Very performative, we only ever see Leshawna display attraction towards Justin when she’s around others like, look at this and tell me that it doesn’t remind you of when YOU forced yourself to scream when u saw a male celebrity to be like your male attracted counterparts:

Alejandro:

Again, Leshawna’s attraction to Alejandro existed on the basis of having someone gas her and make her feel desired. As y’all notice that when Ale’s true colors are shown, all of Leshawna’s attraction towards him disappears and she rebounds to guess who? Harold.

How Heather saw Leshawna:

Before we begin, we need to uncover who Heather is as a character. Heather has a MASSIVE inferiority complex and this stems from her growing up fat and pimply and also having really awful parents. Heather always strives to be the best at EVERYTHING, and is in all her schools clubs, was implied to be taking calculus as a junior in high school and even pushed her younger siblings to a high standard in episode 8 of season 2, when she gives up nothing to them in her will, tells them to earn it themselves and proceeds to call them lazy.

Despite the fact that Heather’s parents truly resent her, Heather still considers her mother her best friend. All this could imply that she works so hard to impress her parents (at least her mother) but to no avail. There is no reason ever for a parent to celebrate their child being gone. After all, THEYRE the ones who raised it. Because of this we can’t blame Heather for why her parents despise her so much. The treatment went so far that they were even written to have given her electroshock therapy as a child.

There is also a contrast in the relationship between her and her parents. Heather is mixed race, her mom is implied to be Japanese and her father is Caucasian. She talked about her mother having voluminous hair and considers her her best friend even wanting to spend a spa day with her during the season. However, all she has to say about her dad is that he’s cheap. So.....

All of this explains her seemingly peculiar fear of sumo wrestlers. They are very fat and very Japanese and of course dealing with internalized racism and fatphobia all that can manifest into this kind of fear.

Ok back to her views of Leshawna...

So, Leshawna is everything that Heather hates about herself. She is a fat woman of color but isn’t ashamed about it. She doesn’t try to be something she’s not like Beth, and doesn’t try to assimilate like Heather. In spite of the obstacles that she deals with she still has a head on her shoulders, doesn’t take bullshit from anybody and still has the love and support of everyone around her.

Heather relies on fear, manipulation and bullying to get what she wants out of life which has lead her into a path of loneliness. She couldn’t find anyone to the school dance as implied in the season 2 special.

She even began to panic when thinking about her old life before she was on T.V. describing it as “cold”.

In the season 1 special, Heather even starts sobbing after she is left alone with Harold reflecting on how everyone hates her and admitting that she is only mean to people due to fear of rejection by those very people.

She also admits to even being threatened by Beth in an aftermath special in season 2

Heather’s insults towards Leshawna and the deeper meaning behind them:

Whenever Heather insults Leshawna they’re always racialized. She picks on her specifically for being a fat black woman but we already know that

She always makes it a point to comment on her butt and while in the 2000s having a big butt was seen as undesirable, total drama sexualized them a lot making it a goal to have as many gratuitous butt shots as possible

With this in mind is it possible to assume that her seeming disgust could possibly be fixation? If this is the case then it would directly parallel with s3 Heather’s need to constantly comment on Alejandro’s appearance and how that was automatically assumed to be some kind of sexual frustration

It being the mid 2000s the comments about her butt left for more plausible deniability and I have no doubt that this was intentional

Heather also needed to always talk about how ghetto and gross her weave was while also making fun of her natural 4c hair. However, in an extended clip from season 2 heather talks about wanting to get a weave

She also appears in the next aftermath alongside Leshawna in a 4c wig so while she hated on Leshawna for looking the way she did naturally, she also tried to emulate her.

It’s clear as day that Heather saw herself as inferior to Leshawna and felt the need to project her insecurities onto her in order to bring her down to her level. After all, Leshawna was the only person in the show that she had any respect for.

Scenes that implied lesheather:

Heather feeling the need to stick up for Leshawna once she is on the chopping block

Heather leaving Leshawna her wig “to remember her by”

Heather and Leshawna appearing on aftermath together which is something that had never happened before ever and never happened again

No cuz they were introduced as “Heather and Leshawna” and not just introduced separately like come on

Also Leshawna since then always referred to them as “we” and not just her separately

In the Celebrity Manhunt special, Leshawna chases Heather after she calls dibs on the front row seat

“Just Friends”:

Ok we had many friendships on total drama but what friendship was as close as this?? Like genuine question. Like not even Gwen and Courtney were this close and we all recognize them as queercoded so.... what the fuck is this then???

FINAL POINT: for the longest time lesbians in media and lesbianism has been villanized and painted as a direct threat to patriarchy. As a result many of the villains and antagonists of many TV shows and movies are in fact lesbian coded. This can be seen with Heather and how she was seen as a villain for the longest only until she started to “fall in love” with one of her male counterparts. Once she too ends up experiencing “male attraction” she is “tamed” and made more sympathetic. They also do this with Jo in seasons 4-5 as she is also lesbian coded and is portrayed as the villain. And even worse, she is seen as inseparable from a man as shown by her masculine name, her need to emasculate actual men (just like Heather) and how one of the characters literally perceived her as a man for the entirety of season 4. This type of media portrayal is very intentional and causes many young lesbians to grow up with serious internalized lesbophobia and fear of seeming to mean or predatory. Just something to keep in mind.

You know, I think this ending would have been slightly less of a fucking disappointment if the heroes hadn't been so unfairly favored by Horikoshi compared to the villains. I mean, seriously

Deku destroys every bone in his body multiple times throughout the story and is warned that if he continues, he'll permanently lose the use of his limbs ? Everything's fine, his body's just got used to being reduced to a bloody pulp somehow so there's no consequences for him. In fact even when he literally loses his arms to Shigaraki, he gets them back two minutes later thanks to Eri because guess what ? Her horn still works even when cut off from her body. How convenient.

Gran Torino gets his ribcage obliterated by Shigaraki ? Don't worry guys, he'll survive that despite his old age and injuries, and this to have no particular role in the plot afterwards.

Bakugo dies heroically trying to buy time before Deku arrives ? Lmao, did you really believe it ?? No of course not, Edgeshot just uses his last-minute Deus Ex Machina to save his life at the cost of his own and- Oops nope he's fine too, my bad !

Hawks murders a criminal fleeing for his life in cold-blood ? The best Hori has to offer is him completely free and in charge of the HSPC.

And no, losing his quirk isn't a real consequence for him because not only it literally played a major part in saving the world with Vestige!Hawks raising an insurrection among AFO's quirks, but also because his quirk has always been the element through which people exploited him.

Endeavor abused his family for years and completely destroyed his eldest son ? No jail time and no media backlash for that, the only blame he received was due to the heroes' failure to stop the League during the Raid Arc.

And don't even get me started on this bs about facing hell or whatever for what he's done : He's literally free and wealthy ; he have Rei, Fuyumi, Shoto, his sidekicks and Hawks on his side ; and all the difficulties he's apparently going to suffer are off-screened.

Deku had to sacrifice OFA and his future hero career to save the world ? Guess what, Bakugo invested all his time and money to make him an Iron-Man suit and now he can still be a hero with everyone else.

There are plenty more examples of this but I think you get the idea. Now let's take a look at the villains' ending :

Toya is now a piece of charcoal kept artificially alive for the few years he has left, unable to move a finger, and whose few minutes a day during which he can stay awake will be spent talking to his father who abused him as a child.

Toga, a literal teenager, killed herself to save Ochako and because she knew it's still better than rotting at Tartarus her whole life.

And not only did she die but she did by bleding to death. Let me repeat for those who have trouble grasping what I've just said : In a manga where the heroes can survive having their heart blown to bits, being impaled Kakyoin-style or smashed against buildings like a fly on a windshield, one of the main antagonists died of a fucking hemorrhage…

As for Shigaraki, after learning that his very birth and all the tragedies of his life have been orchestrated by AFO, after all this development and narrative promises about him being saved in the end... Deku just kills him.

Because despite all his speeches about saving him, it seems like the best he could do was beating him both physically and mentally until he crumbles to dust…

Compress on his side is apparently locked up for life and kept alive by machines too.

A begging Kurogiri tried in a desperate attempt to save Shigaraki, only to be unceremoniously blown up by Bakugo and dying off-screen without anyone giving a shit, including Aizawa and Mic.

And Spinner will now spend the rest of his life struggling with the extra quirks inside him that affect his body and mind, while having to cope with the thought that his boyfriend best friend and companions have either died alone or are locked away for life in horrifying circumstances.

Clearly not the same as with the heroes...

Now don't get me wrong, even if they suffered just as much from the consequences of their actions or the plot as the League, this ending would still be a disaster in terms of writing but AT LEAST it wouldn't reek that much of hypocrisy.
