And the video is now up for download on the Internet Archive!

The bad news is that we're no longer translating the audio-only bonus episode that came with the Blu-Ray release of Bomberman Jetters back in 2016.
The supremely excellent news is that it's because longtime bombercommunity member Steamy Jimmy has made it happen! Check it out on YouTube.

Open Call: Translating Bomberman Video Games
What up, bomberbutts! It sure has been a hot minute and a half. Unfortunately, I have no updates regarding any of Bombermanga's projects (except that nothing's abandoned, just backburnered). What I do have for y'all is a potential opportunity for folks to get involved in someone else's bombertranslation project — one in which translation skills aren't necessarily needed!
Legato at BombermanBoard (he of the SteamyJimmy YouTube channel, which got nuked after he posted subs for BMJ's Episode 53 drama CD and the entirety of the Bakugaiden IV anime) is looking to organize a group effort to translate several Bomberman games that never made it out of the land of the rising sun. This includes:
Super Bomberman: Panic Bomber W (SNES)
Super Bomberman 5 (SNES, incomplete)
Saturn Bomberman Fight!! (Saturn)
Bomberman Wars (Saturn)
BB-Daman Bakugaiden: Victory heno Michi (GBC)
BB-Daman Bakugaiden V: Final Mega Tune (GBC)
Bomberman Land (PSX)
Bomberman Land 2 (PS2, GC)
Bomberman Land 3 (PS2)
Bomberman Kart (PS2)
Bomberman Kart DX (PS2)
Bomberman Jetters: Legendary Bomberman (GBA)
Bomberman Jetters Game Collection (GBA)
Panic Bomber (PSP)
Bomberman: Bakufuu Sentai Bomberman (PSP)
Bomberman Blast JP (Wii)
The translator for BMJ Episode 53 and both Bakugaiden IV & V is open to working on these games as well, so what legato is primarily looking for are people who can:
Rip text from the games
Put any translated text back into a patch
Playtest for typos, corrections, etc.
Provide additional help checking translations for accuracy
For more information, check out the forum thread here. If you're interested in helping out, you can:
Make a BombermanBoard account and post in the thread about what you can do (which would probably be easier for legato to track but is possibly antithetical to the younger bombs in the fandom), or...
Message this account with a name, method of contact (an email address or otherwise some sort of social media with DM/PM capabilities), and what you can offer for the project so I can post in the thread in your stead
For the record, games that have already been translated (not by legato!) include:
Bomberman GB 3
Super Bomberman 4
Bomberman Warz (PSX)
Bomberman 64 Arcade Edition

So can it be only officially licensed manga or can it be fan based too?
If you're asking whether we at Bombermanga translate fanart or fanmanga — the answer is technically yes, but the final form of that translation depends on whether or not we can get permission from the artist (which is partly due to copyright laws working a little differently in Japan and Japanese artists as a result being more cautious about how their work gets passed around).
If we can get artist permission, then we can do a full scanslation with image editing and whatnot (example here).
If we cannot get artist permission for whatever reason, then we simply produce a plain text translation script (example here) and ask that everyone operate by the honor system and not use that script to make your own scanslation.
While we don't officially take translation requests, we do take translation suggestions, since it's useful to hear what people might be interested in seeing. But there's just no guarantee of when or if we'll get around to something, especially with how things have changed for myself and my translator minion since we first started this blog.
Our current priorities are Sore Ike! Bomberman Jetters and Baku Bomberman 4-Koma Manga Kings. Beyond that, things are fairly open.
(Sorry if this is more than what you asked for or if it's not quite what you asked for! But I figured this was also a good opportunity to update followers of this dusty blog.)

Are these manga mostly made by fans or made by the creators of bomberman themselves?
Mostly they're officially licensed manga volumes, with artists being contracted one way or another to make something based on a certain piece of bombermedia. If the artists also happen to be Bomberman fans, that might just be incidental (although I can't say for certain).
However, it should be noted that despite these being officially licensed manga volumes (or sometimes one-shot stories appearing in Japanese gaming magazines or whatever), one can't make any claim of canonicity regarding their contents, i.e. just because something happened in one of the manga stories doesn't make it comprehensively true for the canon as a whole.

Did you make these Comics yourself?
We did not! These are all works from varying artists originally in Japanese that we translated into English.
(Except for Wario's Christmas Tale, which was originally in German and I just typeset an existing English translation. Actually, now that I think about it, I don't think I ever posted that one here since it was probably before I created Bombermanga, so — here y'all go, all the pages are in that link.)

Hi! Sorry to bother you, but seeing some of the comic strips on there, is the 4koma gag battle and Futabasha manga kingdoms shonen? I see that there was something called Shounen Ou and I was wondering if that is the case. Btw I'm a teen.
I haven't personally read/flipped through all of the Bomberman comics out there, but to my knowledge it should all be shounen level. I can't imagine it would be anything else**, given the source material.
**On an official/licensed basis, that is. Obviously fandom gets...creative.

Is there going to have comics with dastardly bombers & four bomber kings(includes Bomber Great)?
Hi! There are definitely comics with those characters with it, and ideally we'd like to get to scanslating those, but — as may be evident — we're sort of a little distracted at the moment. Thanks for letting us know of your interest!

Bomberanonymouse! I apologize for the wait, but I’ve got the full version of the 4-koma that glorious image comes from. It’s from page 7 of the Super Bomberman 5 4-Koma Gag Battle Anthology.

Hey there! This isn't so much a formal ask, but I'm a huge fan of Bomberman Jetters and I just recently discovered that they released a Blu-Ray with a drama CD of an "episode 53" back in 2016. I saw a post of yours mentioning the possibility of a translation of that. Not sure if that ever happened, but I'd be absolutely delighted to see one if it's still on your radar! If not, that's cool! Thanks for all your hard work!
Episode 53 is definitely still on our radar! The thing is that we have someone else besides the local translatorminion working on that translation, and at the moment they’re currently busy with school so they haven’t been able to finish it. As for myself and the local translatorminion, we certainly have our hands full with just the BMJ manga alone, to say nothing of other projects (Bomberman or others), work, and life in general. Who knew that love of Bomberman alone doesn’t pay the bills!!
However! I know people have been waiting patiently for this (did that box really come out FOUR FUCKING YEARS AGO?! smh), so I can at least offer the basic premise of the episode in the meantime. Shirobon is frustrated by how hard Shout is working him at the ramen shop, but remembers Shout telling him (back in episode 52, for us following along at home) that once he grows taller than her, he’ll become the leader of the Jetters. Conveniently, it turns out that the Hige Hige Bandits are after a unique chocolate bar that will supposedly increase a person’s height by one meter without anyone noticing...
(GANGU: “Who WOULDN’T notice?!”)

These comics are awesome! When’s your next update?
Hello there! Thank you for your interest, and massive apologies about the delay in answering! Both translatorminion and I have gotten caught up in other thingamabombs, and translatorminion in particular has just started a new job that he needs to get used to. So bombertranslations (and our other translations, tbh) are on hold for the moment while we figure things out. I’ll be checking in with him in a month to see where he’s at with his free time and energy reserves, and we’ll decide what to do from there.
I’m not sure which translations you were interested in, but our priority at the moment is the Bomberman Jetters one-shot manga volume. After that, we might tackle the other volume of Bomberman 64 4-komas. Assuming that, like, SBR doesn’t come out with a manga or something in the meantime. o____o;;
(I mean, SBR is made for a manga/anime, but we don’t need more projects to do — )

Have there been any translation or scanlation of the Manga Kingdom Bomberman 4-koma books? Are there plans to do any if not?
As far as I know, there’ve been no translations or scanslations of those particular books, buuuuut I would love to be proven wrong!
While those books are technically on our to-do list (I currently own vols. 2-4 of the series), it’s likely going to be a veeeeery long time before we can get to them. Honestly, we’ve got no problems with someone else tackling those if’n they wanna!
