Society would rock so much if you could be open about being alterhuman and it was just a normal thing to be. I like to fantasize about a kinder world like that.
Like we could go see mermaids perform in those tail covers (mermaid performances are a thing but imagine if it was way more common and normalized and full of actual mermaids!)
The gym could have group quadrobics sessions for different species (canine, feline, rodent .ect)
Angels could meet up at custom built “cathedral” like buildings full of pearl strands and stained glass and discuss their lives amongst humans over tea and cake.
Toy/doll/stuffed animal people could sew people sized clothes that look like doll clothes and play dress up together.
Zombies and ghosts could clean and maintain graveyards and honor the dead.
Bird folk could mix albums of their calls and wear wigs of faux feathers.
Grocery stores would sell kibble shaped snacks.
Furniture stores would sell nests and pet-style beds in person sizes.
People could publish memoirs of past lives or kin memories.
All plural people would be treated with respect and accepted as normal people too of course.
You could ask anyone if they identify as another species and they would understand it and maybe they would say they aren’t human either.
The fight against other forms of oppression will lead the way to a world safe enough to begin advocating for alterhumans. Society needs to first accept those who are queer, disabled, culturally different, neurologically different, and visually different.

i love you therians but can you please retire the discourse about physical nonhumanity not being valid because it is and i just wanna see silly posts when i scroll tags. it just feels like there's always gotta be new points of contention every day or an attempt to exclude somebody from the place where we literally actively reject societal norms and preach self acceptance. "sorry that's a little too out of the societal norms we supposedly reject" seems to be the sentiment. which is a little idk. weird. maybe i'd even say hypocritical. coming from a community that is supposed to represent accepting yourself and others for who they really are.

Yet another OC for OtherClan 🪄
Took a drawing break between writing last night to make a cat based around one of my more recently present theriotypes: a barn owl. She’s extremely paranoid & struggles with socializing (like me 👍)
She’s likely to be an NPC for the ARPG, as she represents a “secret” stat some cats will be able to get

A final question for the project!
Context: OtherClan ARPG is an Art Roleplaying Game im working to set up & host in tumblr for therians, otherkin, alterhumans & those with heart types. It’s based around warrior cats & has its own twists. The primary focus of the project is to encourage users draw, write, and lightly roleplay together as their silly forest cats to help better build community & help critters meet one another

Been working on drafting TONS of posts for the official ARPG account, we’re really in the last portion of the project set up!!
After I get everything drafted n all the typing finalized, all I have to do is set up some generators for clan rewards (which is easy) and fine tune a few numbers here n there :]!!
—
I know it’s taking awhile, and I know it’s easy to lose steam for a project like this after such a long wait- but I appreciate the patience!

girls who look bored but really want to beat ppl up on the inside my guy i'm going to be playing in @wizardodog's alterhuman wc arpg!!
lore infodump under cut lol
dollpaw [she/they]!! absolutely beloved and i haven't even really written her yet
general idea is that they're an apprentice who really wants to prove themselves and be the greatest/strongest warrior, this ambition leading her into being a bit impatient selfish and rude, even when she doesn't actively mean to be. i think theres def good potential for her to either figure out that they don't need to push themselves so hard or not getting better at all and i'm leaning towards the second one rn? idk that might change later. i imagine she'd be skilled at running and combat and not much else lol
idk what specifically would spur on her need to be the best warrior to exist ever? open to suggestions on that part but i still think its a fun concept

a reminder to all therians, alterhumans, otherkin, or anyone else reading this.
go outside today. just for a while, sit in the grass, look at the trees and the sky and the birds on powerlines or on branches or flying just below the clouds. listen to critters smaller than yourselves running amongst the same grass you're resting on. make sure to drink water and say hydrated even if it hurts to think about, you need it to survive and survival is necessary.
if you can't go outside today then it's alright, nobody blames you for that, you have your own reasons and those reasons matter so much to you, to me. open a window, sit by it and look. if you can't do that, try again tomorrow.
you have to keep living, you have to keep living and you cannot be the one to stop that from happening because you are far too loved and far too important to die. you need to live, i don't care what you think you've done wrong in life, you MUST keep going. i love you. you will love yourselves someday, i swear on my life.
keep love in your lungs, my sweet.

On The Joys of Hunting
I see a lot of alterhumans talk about the horrors of having a prey drive, the inconvenience of it, or how violent/ugly it is.
For understandable reasons, the impulse to kill is not the most palatable thing in the world. Especially in a society that is for the most part no longer interested in, or familiar with, the idea of hunting for food.
For some of us alterhumans, hunting is more than just a way to get food. It's a way to feel like ourselves, by doing what we're meant to. What comes naturally to us.
I say all of this to provide groundwork for an observation I've made about a practice of mine.
I engage in a kind of faux-hunting. I stalk prey animals, without actually killing them. It's a slow, methodical, and quiet thing. The process is mostly waiting and watching.
I'm sure from the outside it looks incredibly boring.
But from the inside, it's enrapturing. Every twitch, every slight movement they make is a tiny jolt of electricity in my nerves. It's one of the only times I get to fully let myself be a monster. Something primal and instictive and finely tuned in to my surroundings.
At the same time, it's deeply relaxing.
I suffer from a long term anxiety disorder that I rarely talk about here. Between that and my innate personality, my mind is a cluttered place most of the time.
When I'm shifted, all of that goes away.
And when I'm hunting, there's a kind of singular clarity that a shift might otherwise lack. It's a little like being a force of nature. Act and react. Cause and effect.
You move, I move.
This isn't the only positive experience I've had with my prey drive, but it's the one I wanted to talk about first.
Have you had any experiences you want to share? Does anyone else get a similar satisfaction out of stalking animals?
☆○☆○☆○☆○☆○☆○☆○☆○☆○☆○☆○☆○☆○☆○☆
This post wouldn't exist without @flooferbutt who asked the question that started this, and @beastlybardou who's ability to articulate ideas and share experiences has been crucial to me developing my own. Thank you both, keep being awesome.
