𓇼🐚 INFO
hi! i’m grace and this is my sideblog for all things related to clangen! my main is @boglove, though i’m not that active there. i also have a simblr (@moonwoodlady) where i write about my sims, so if you’re interested in that, totally check it out!
this blog is home to SeashoreClan, a clan of cats that were originally from the forest and were taken aboard a cargo ship to protect the cargo from mice, but were shipwrecked and now must survive in an unfamiliar and frightening environment.
my posts are more focused on writing than art, mostly because i only ever draw humans, so i definitely struggle with doing detailed drawings of cats; however, i do hope this gives me the opportunity to improve my art skills!
i pretty much follow exactly what happens in the clangen game and base what i write off of that, though i might take some creative liberties.
i may post about more clans in the future, mostly just because having multiple things to concentrate helps me focus.
i don’t really have a solid posting schedule, but i’ll typically post a few times a week.
also, asks are currently open!
start reading SeashoreClan here!
CONTENT WARNING: canon typical violence, character death.

𓇼🐚 SEASHORECLAN: MOON 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A perpetual gray haze still remains cast over the sky, as far as the eye can see. The winds twist through Littlepatch's fur as he pads through the sparse undergrowth, several of his clanmates in toe, their steps all equally silent. One thing he could appreciate about their newfound environment was the terrain; soft and grainy, never exposing the sounds of their movement to unsuspecting prey.
Of course, the silence that the sand provided was only helpful if they could actually find any prey.
"This is beginning to feel hopeless," Darkblaze mutters, breaking the long silence.
"Darkblaze, must you be so pessimistic?" Jaypaw huffs, her eyes narrowing and her tail flicking at the older cat in annoyance.
Before Littlepatch knew it, a flurry of insults began being hurled back and forth. He tries desperately to ignore the sounds of his clanmates bickering like kits as they continue along their path, climbing onto a tall formation of rocks, scaling the rough ground to reach a higher vantage point; however, he winces and loses focus as a sharp howl of indignation from Jaypaw cuts through the air after Darkblaze delivered a particularly scathing insult.
Littlepatch spins around, leaping from the rocks and landing in front of the two cats, their remaining jabs dying on their tongues.
"Enough, both of you. This is the last thing we need right now," he spat out, his tail raised high in the air and his fur standing straight up.
"But he--"
Before Jaypaw could finish speaking, a loud splash erupted nearby, followed by a shrill yelp. The three cats' heads whipped to the side, all of them quickly darting off in the direction of the noise.
There, just through a patch of undergrowth, was the remaining member of their patrol, Stormdrift, flailing about in a murky tidepool, wrestling with some kind of multi-legged creature that looked like the kind of thing a queen would warn her kits about to get them to behave. The strange creature's limbs wrapped around the cat's head, violently squirming away from his snapping jaws and sharp fangs, while Stormdrift helplessly skittered backwards.
"Oh StarClan, what is that thing?" Jaypaw hissed out, her fur bristling upwards.
The three cats watched on for several moments in stunned horror, before their clanmate let out another yowl, clearly in dire need of some assistance. They sprung into action, quickly surrounding the creature from all angles and hurling their bodies into the water, claws wildly swiping at its many limbs. Darkblaze had the sense to scratch at its eyes, causing it to release its hold on Stormdrift's head. The four cats, now sopping wet and sand-covered, watched as the creature scurried away in a bizarre squirming fashion and disappearing beneath the sand.
As Littlepatch turned around and saw the imprints in Stormdrift's fur where the creature had latched onto him, he made a mental note to warn everyone to keep away from the tidepools from now on.

seashoreclan encounters an octopus!! this is based on an actual patrol prompt you can get in-game where your cats find an octopus. sort of a filler post because nothing really noteworthy happened this moon </3 also a good excuse to introduce some of the other clan members
(everyday it becomes abundantly clear that i don’t know what cats look like and would die without a reference. also the ref for this was super blurry so sorry)

𓇼🐚 SEASHORECLAN: MOON 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another starless night settles upon the clan. They've had to adjust; no longer are they in the lush, green forest, or on the strange Twoleg vessel that carried them here in the first place. Now, the earth is grainy and sinks beneath their paws, and all of the prey that they find has scales.
Froststar creeps out from the bowels of the jagged wreckage she had taken shelter in, silently making her way up the rim of it, balancing on top of the towering tip of it. She stares up at the empty sky, questions rolling through her mind.
She isn't sure how much time passes, until faint pawfalls catch her attention. She turns her head to the noise to find a gray tom with several small white patches padding up the curved rim of the wreckage, his tail swaying behind him; Littlepatch, of course.
Froststar flicks her tail in acknowledgment.
"It is late, Littlepatch. You're leading the dawn patrol tomorrow, are you not? You should sleep," she remarked.
Littlepatch seats himself at Froststar's side, looking to the black sky like she had just been moments earlier.
"It's been a moon. The sky has not cleared like you promised, Froststar," he says, sidestepping her concerns over his sleep habits, "I do not fault you for it, but others might."
Froststar remains silent, looking at her deputy before turning her attention back towards the sky, the empty blackness staring back at her, as if taunting her. The silence stretches on for an indeterminable amount of time, before Littlepatch breaks it once again.
"Did StarClan truly speak to you?" he asks.
Froststar's eyes stay focused on the sky. Another beat of silence passes.
"Sometimes, as leader, things must be done--or said--for the good of the clan," she simply says.
Littlepatch's head moves to face Froststar, his whiskers twitching. He looks like he wants to say something; that is, until a shadow moving in the corner of both cats' vision and a faint shuffling catches their attention.
Their heads whip around towards the source of the noise, but the camp is quiet, save for the peaceful snoring coming from the warriors' den.
"..It was probably just one of the kits. You know how antsy they can get," Froststar remarks, attempting to ease both her and her deputy's nerves. She then glances out towards the horizon, where a faint yellow glow is beginning to emerge. "The dawn patrol will need to leave soon, yes? You should go prepare."
She turned to look at Littlepatch, who looked like he wanted to object. She could recognize the concern swimming in his eyes; a sight she had grown familiar with.
"..Very well," he said after a moment, turning on his heels and expertly darting back down the edge of the wreckage, leaving Froststar to her thoughts.

this is a lot longer than i anticipated but oh well. also ft. my shitty pixel art—i kinda wanted to keep a similar simple style to the in-game images that pop up for patrols so i didn’t go crazy with details

𓇼🐚 SEASHORECLAN: MOON 0
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On a rocky bay, beneath the churning clouds, cats find themselves in disarray, taken from their homes, scattered amongst countless moons of wreckage.
They turn their eyes to the sky for answers, yet are met by a starless void, empty and unblinking.
The palest of them rises, shining brightly in the absence of their ancestors' light.
"Do not fear. StarClan has spoken to me. They have not abandoned us. The clouds will leave; the sky will clear. Their light will return. Until then, we must carry on."
"But how, Froststar? How can we go on without StarClan's guidance?"
"We do not have a choice."

came up with the idea of several clan cats, captured and taken aboard a cargo ship to fend mice off of the cargo, ending up shipwrecked after a storm, so i decided to try my hand at writing a little and posting some clangen stuff on here :)
