It was time to do something different, so here I am, creating a pair of bookends using the shapely model London Andrews as my rubenesque sculpture.

After a lot of deliberating I have decided on the next 7 'Aerial Combat' sculptures I want to create with "Bloody April", "The Falklands", & The Battle of Britain". Looking forward to opening a gallery!

In lockdown from March and my mental state was already challenged by the 2nd week. No facilities to do my sculptures, but another project got a big push. My Hawker Hurricane pedal-plane is nearly complete, with a potential deadline of July 10th I'll be happy. #hawkerhurricane #pedalplane

The 'Manta Ray Experience' sculpture is completed and I'm pleased with the end result. Depending how well it is received will define whether I create further figures.

2019 has sent me in a different direction for sculpting. The polishing on my second figure is nearing completion and I'm very happy with the results. Once done I'll be looking at venturing down this avenue again.

Finishing off my latest sculpture, the 'Aerial Combat Falklands 1982'. This piece came together very quickly after the difficulties I had with previous artwork. The Sea Harrier is an aircraft I built during my days as an aircraft fitter at BAe Kingston. Remembering times gone past as I shaped each section, it was an absolutely pleasure to do just one more.

I'm flustered and shouldn't be. Having met and befriended a young woman half my age through my daughter's activities, I keep wonder why I feel attracted to her. I will say here and now that I don't intend to make life difficult for myself by doing something stupid, but her figure is appealing, her smile is infectious, and her eyes are so soft and kind that my heart skips a beat just by being in her presence. Today we spoke as normal sharing a laugh, and then it dawned on me what was happening. She is a complete duplicate to my very first crush I had as a teenager! Making the connection did let me indulge in some fond memories, though how do I maintain a professional relationship if all I can now think about is being intoxicated by her stunning beauty of yesteryear?

The 'Jupiter' 1869 Transcontinental Steam Locomotive completed sculpture. Taking a year to create it challenged me to the maximum to produce the details I wanted.

Having recent conversations about the value of my sculptures I keep failing to sell myself enough on principles of "Who am I?" Several business people have made suggestions that I should quadruple my cost given the unique and hand skills I use to create my sculptures. For me I'm reluctant to over price the value as I've been repeatedly told that as an unrecognised artist I couldn't possible warrant a high price tag. Art is only worth what people are willing to pay, but I do struggle to get the general customer to understand I'm NOT mass producing pieces off a machine, and I cannot create something by next week. I'm lucky if I can create 3 sculptures in a year. I have to resolve myself that I'll always be a hobbyist who sells occasionally. Why does this bother me...? I really don't know. I don't want fame or fortune, I just feel I need to be remembered and leave something worthwhile behind when I'm long time dead.

Having completed my first nude figure years ago, I still find there is a stigma attached to creating such a piece of art. Yes, I am better at creating aircraft as my forte, but does that mean I have to stay within my comfort zone? Coming up is a couple of the animal kingdom sculptures to develop my hand skills further in this field, but the human figure has no flat areas that challenges my artist ability. Support shapes my decisions. Where should I go from here?
