Artists From All Over The Globe Respond To Tragic Death Of 3-Year-Old Syrian Refugee
On Wednesday, September 2, 2015, the Turkish polish found the dead body of a 3-year-old Syrian refugee named Aylan Kurdi. Washed up on the shore, he had drowned with his 5-year-old brother Ghalib and his mother Rehand, while attempting to escape Syria.
Since 2011, The Syrian Civil War has claimed up to 300,000 lives and it has displaced over 7 million Syrians. When the image went viral, people were shocked and extremely saddened. As a form of protest, artists from around the globe have responded to this catastrophe by creating political critiques of the tragic event.
