Vantage Point: Photographs of Milwaukee from on high - I want to publish my first photo book and make prints based on a series of rooftop cityscapes I took in 2014 of the city that I love. - http://kck.st/1y3XBHN

In terms of 'Searching for Milwaukee’s “Secret Fairy Casque”' from last year... Have you considered Lake Park, near the burial indian mound? Based off the description you start at the lake front, cross the Lincoln... up the grand 200 (staircase)... turn left and head across a bridge and start counting trees.
Basically, Lake Park is very long and ends right before the stretch of Bradford Beach (down below). It is possible the publisher would have you walk in a circle and back towards that mound (which is indistinguishable from the rolling slopes in that area), but turning left actually takes you south rather than north. The mound is a pretty insignificant marker compared to ones indicated by other cities’ findings. The painting would implicate Juneau Park, the language clue in the poem indicates the runic writing on the back of the Leif Erikson statue, and the trees in that area look like the shapes in the cloak. Unfortunately, the statue was moved 10+ years ago to avoid cliff erosion so who knows where the “foot” was. Even if you could divine the location, you’d need permits from the parks department to start digging around…

It is entirely possible that the sound of my circular saw caused the mother to bolt. I hope she came back; I cannot handle three new mouths to feed... (at Jacobson Estate)

Sod over the rubble on Flickr.
What our town apparently does when it tears down a condemned building and cannot figure out what to do with the space. It needs a bench in the middle to be perfect...
