Rambling a lil abt Blue and how I see his association with water as an element so it's under the cut here <3

So I often see, when discussed by many in the fandom, people talk about Blue struggling with his associated element of water due to it being peaceful and healing and life giving- and I just can't really agree.

I understand why people jump to this and I think it's be a cool character study if it was Blue specifically who had these thoughts but it never goes much further than ' water healing, blue destructive, what a mismatch ' but like

Water isn't benevolent, rarely is it even peaceful and it's only healing in controlled qualities. The sea is relentless and persistent, for example. It's cold, it's brutal and ruthless but it is also beautiful and full of life. Rain is destructive in a slow way- sure it waters crops and washes away dust, but it also rusts metal, wears away stone, and if you've ever seen what heavy rain does to the ground you'll know just how harmful it can be. Mist obscures sight, fog can fuck up scents and ice and hail will just basically curb stomp you.

And those are relatively passive- this is without getting into things like hurricanes, tsunamis, whirlpools, water spouts, gaysers and the like.

And idk I think these things describe Blue really well. He's a hero, he helps people when he wants to and on his terms. But he's also a force to be reckoned with- he's strong, he's ruthless and can change his mind in a split second (should be noted that this isn't a bad thing).

Water can heal you, it can save you, but you only need an inch of it to drown. And I think that fits Blue pretty well honestly.

yeah yeah fire-based characters are destructive and angry and violent and evil blah blah blah BORING overdone. more fire as a lifegiver. warm and comforting. fire-based characters as guides lighting the way. personal heater in the cold and dark but don’t sleep too close or you’ll wake up with heat rash. fire sterilizes and cauterizes!! more fire-based healers. plants perking up and flowers turning towards them and they attract moths. fire-based characters who are hearths instead of wildfires!! the core of a home the pillar of a community the key to societal advancement. give them an internal flame that visibly glows and flickers instead of a heart that beats. extinguish that light when they die. etc

So there's this plastic turtle we have outside our school that tells cars to slow down. My kids have always asked me why I don't have a husband, and I got tired of telling them because I didn't want one, so I pointed to him and said, "That dude. That's my husband."

This has been a running joke for two years now. All the kids know the plastic turtle outside the school is my husband. He doesn't have a name, just Miss Cat's husband.

Today was really windy, and the turtle dude fell over. I was taking a kid out to his mom, and he saw it on the ground and went, "Oh look, your husband died."

So I said, "Oh darn. Looks like I'm single again."

And without skipping a beat, he goes, "I'll be your husband."

Mom is standing there trying not to laugh as I got down on my knees, took the kid's hands in mine, and said, "Thanks for the offer, bud, but no thank you. We'll just pick that guy up so he can start being my husband again."

So the kid runs over, picks the turtle up, and goes "Good morning, husband! You're not dead anymore. Good job."

Au where Vio fakes killing Green but right after Blue kills Vio Real For Real™ to avenge Green.

Then Green just wakes back up and is like oh fuck now what do we do, Blue is confused and hiding his guilt , Red is screaming crying throwing up beating up blue cause wtf?, and shadows on the floor is crying on the floor over his dead supposedly evil bf?

Do they call a truce? Dose Blue finish the job and kill that 'Son of A Bitch'™ Shadow? Does shadow flee with Vio's corpse? Do they just ignore vio's death and go back to fighting?

Idk how to write so that's for you to decide is there already a story like this? If there is let me know I like this idea a lot

Ty! (And I've been on zip-lines a lot, so they're not really that scary anymore. And there's actually (at least) two different types of zip-lines, so depending on which one you've been on/will do, some will be easier/safer/less scary than others.)

What do you think you would do if you were in Rim’s situation?

... I'm a coward with really bad anxiety (especially social) so would probably hide in a hole till all got better. ... Maybe. And maybe then also kill myself because I've just been separated from my friends and family, all who are my reasons for living. But if I don't kill myself, I'll probably try to find other people to attach to and uplift. But I probably wouldn't go on the adventure. Idk. Too dangerous.

(I wanna ask what you'd do, but also, this is a self insert, so I'd guess what Rim's doing, you'd be doing?)

I was once asked to jump from a step to a monkey bar. I didn't do it. I was afraid of banging my head on the metal, even though it was a foot away around. I was once asked to climb up some twisted stair steps (like those cool medieval castle steps) and didn't do it because I was afraid of falling down or something. :3 I am a coward. (But zip-lining is somehow fine, ig)

Chaos and acting✨ and we're all idiots from time to time. It's called main character vibes✨ (of which we all are to our own stories)
