Gonna start filling out character question charts cause there are too many Ruri thoughts in my brain
1. Growing up, Ruri's birthday was always celebrated by going to the moon festival. When he was very little, he thought the festival was his birthday celebration. After becoming a demon, Ruri started celebrating his birthday by watching the sunrise. He's not foolish enough to actually be caught in the direct line of the sun, but will position himself under a window so the rising sunlight comes in above him and hits the opposite wall.
2. Ruri is the most important person in his life. I don't have any other characters aside from his family who could fill that role...
3. On a down day/night, he takes off his Oiran and just wears the Hakama pants. Ruri only has the one style of clothing because it is the most comfortable for him to wear.
4. The temple he lives in was originally fairly run down. It took a while before the villagers went up there and cleaned everything up and fixed it, so it no longer looks abandoned. The ruins of the old Catholic Church and monastery dorms are still present, but in horrible disrepair. The temple itself does not get many visitors outside of New Year's, which suits Ruri very well. The few people who do come by on a regular basis are people complaining about the evil humans in their lives. This is basically a food report for him
5. The kids are his pets, for the short time he has them. Ruri does not dislike animals, but prefers not to keep them around.
6. Alcohol and a good meal raises the spirits
7. Ruri does have frequent depression. He calls them human relapses because they will be accompanied by memories of his parents and uncontrollable crying. The stress associated with being a demon makes him forget these things until it becomes too much then he has a mental break and falls into a depressive episode.
8. Ruri has never seen kabuki theater, but he would love it if he did. A true comedy fan
9. No favorite book for this boy, but he would love romance comedy if he could get his hands on any.
10. Ruri did get along with his parents. He was a mama's boy and a home body, but loved going out on his father's boat when given the chance. Because his parents got along his home life growing up was very nice.
11. I would probably convert Ruri to JJK or MHA universe, mostly because of franchise proximity. Not the biggest fan of either one, but I feel it would make sense for his character.
12. His favorite holiday is the Tsukimi moon festival on August 15th, his birthday
13. There is a mark that will appear and disappear on Ruri's chest. It is a red crescent moon and moonflower, his demon mark.
14. Ruri has never kissed anybody in his life! I cannot yet tell you if that is a lack of trying or just because he's asexual
15. He has loved and lost many people over the course of his life, but most of them have been forgotten.
16. If given three wishes, Ruri's first wish would be to be able to withstand sunlight. His second wish would be the death or destruction of Muzan, and his third wish would be infinite alcohol.
17. If stranded on an island, Ruri he would bring his pipe, his alcohol, his fan, and his hairpin. Whoever's with him is either going to be company or a meal for later.
18. "The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even touched; They must be felt with the heart" Hellen Keller
19. Romance? Honestly, idk. I'd love to start doing RP with Ruri as a character, and involving him with other characters to see if that's even a possibility. Building him by myself I have so little understanding of how he would interact with other people 😓😭
20. Ruri's first language is japanese. He speaks with a Nagasaki accent with a hint of Nanban. He does retain some Dutch, but it only comes out when he's really mad and is borderline unintelligible.
21. His most prized possession is a toss up between the hairpin that used to belong to his mother and his alcohol collection. One of those things is sentimental and the other is just a matter of pride
22. Until becoming a demon, Ruri had never stolen anything in his life. After the fact, he has stolen so many things he's lost count of what was stolen and what was a gift (everything was stolen)
I'll continue to answer more of these questionnaires, but if you have any questions you'd like me to answer, feel free to comment or DM them

Been think about this and thought I'd elaborate:
Tragic backstory is not written, I have no ideas and am forcing myself to ignore any that come up.
I want there to be 2 for reasons, mostly so they outnumber Ruri. Also, Ruri posing as a fox kami having two small foxes is on theme.
He would give them some fox masks, so I wonder if anyone would want to tie them into Urokadaki? Ruri does predate the canon timeline so it could work.
Depending on how they are set up they would only live with Ruri for maybe 3 to 5 years.
Adoptables
I have the two little ones Ruri takes in, but no intention of making them my OCs if I can help it. If anyone would like twin children OC's, or if there are two people who would like to take one each I, would be more than happy to do art of them. They are an element to Ruri's story I would prefer having a soundboard on. DM if interested

I'm in a mood where I want an unapologetic villain story, and I realized Ruri would make a great villain. They are a monster pretending to be a god while preying on the populace. Villains with morals are something I really enjoy, especially when you categorically don't agree with them and know their actions are wrong, but they are unapologetic and do not try to make any excuses for themselves. Wilful evil is such a gender!

Visser Family Facts
- Fernam's Japanese name is Funato, written with the characters for ship and pass over, because he came from overseas
- Yuzuki's favorite color is blue. Both her husband and son have blue eyes
- Yuzuki does most of the cooking but Fernam will share European dishes at least once a week. She doesn't like them but won't tell him that
- While looking for a Japanese wife, one of his sailor buddies recommended Fernam to go buy the cheapest girl at an imekura. He went and fell in love with Yuzuki's music. It took him two months of saving to earn enough to buy her
- The first and only time Yuzuki fought Fernam was when Ruri was born. She was insistent on his name, but Fernam had not settled on a more western one to give him and so gave in
- Fernam was by no means progressive or a feminist, but because he knew so little about Japanese culture and living, he tended to defer to Yuzuki about most things. Growing up with this made Ruri more respectful of women than the average man of his time
- Ruri's hair pin was a gift to his mother from his father to mark their 5 year anniversary. It is the only personal item he kept from that time
- Ruri was picked on by the other children of the village for being half nanban, so he spent most of his time growing up hiding in the house with his mother. The girl who lived next door to them secretly had a crush on him, but her parents forbid her from ever interacting with Ruri, so he never found out

Story Overview:
A Dutch-Portuguese trader named Fernam decided to live in japan, in the Nagasaki prefecture while on a trading venture. He bought a house on the water and, desiring a family, bought out a geisha from the local imekura. Her name was Yuzuki and she held neither hatred nor affection for her new husband. In 1627 she gave birth to their only child, and named him Ruri Visser. The family had 12 quiet years together, Fernam working as a fisherman and translator while Yuzuki was the mother of the house, occasionally giving performances at the imekura as a skilled Shamisen player. In 1639 the Portuguese were kicked out of the country. Fernam barely managed to stay by claiming he was Dutch, but 2 more years later he was also expelled and confined to Dejima, the trading island. Yuzuki was not allowed to accompany him and hid Ruri’s hair color from the authorities to help her keep him with her.
For the next five years, mother and son worked at the imekura that had treated Yuzuki so well, as musicians and helping hands around the shop. In 1646 Yuzuki contracted smallpox and died from it. Ruri stayed at the shop after her death, continuing to perform and help out, but less than one year later disaster would strike. Hearing a disturbance in one the girl’s rooms, Ruri went to investigate and throw out her customer if needed, but instead he walked into a murder scene. Muzon had killed the girl and turned on Ruri, injuring him. Ruri stabbed Muzon with one of the hairpins and wound up getting the master of demon’s blood on him. This turned him into a demon. Muzon was uninterested in the boy and left, leaving Ruri to be named the murderer and a monster. Fleeing the imekura he hid on a nearby mountain, running northwest into the greater Kushu area. There he found a mountain with an old temple that had been occupied by catholics until they were expelled and executed. Due to the recency of the events the place was in fairly good condition, and even had a basement which was previously a cellar.
Sixty years later and local villages had come to fix up the old temple, renovating it into the shrine for their new local deity. There was some argument over whether they were a Shinatsuhiko or Jizō, so the temple name was Tabisakikiri, the Destination of Fog shrine. This was due to a persistent wind and light fog that hung over the mountain at night, and that no traveler with women and children in their group met any misfortune. Bandits, thieves, and even corrupt officials passing through the vicinity of the mountain all vanished or were met with great misfortunes. All the while, Ruri held back and clung to the remnants of his humanity, though he was already forgetting why women and children smelt so appetizing.
Ruri spent the next 200 years pretending to be a mountain deity, until twin children on the run from kidnappers and abusers sought refuge on his mountain. Reluctant to kill what he saw as a paltry meal, Ruri raised them. When they reached the right age he sent them away, rather than follow through on his promise to eat them. They left under threat that, should they return, he would not let them escape alive. Ten years later they did return, as demon slayers to dispatch their demon guardian. Ruri fought them both but inevitably lost. He was then confined to the Wisteria mountain and might still linger within the shadows of the peak.
