HOWEVER the other parnter still has free will… so if their partner wants to leave they can, but your sim with this wish will not be able to find another love afterward)

Become a professional slacker (Once this wish is rolled you sim will have to do odd jobs for money or take up some type of trade that allows them to earn money. They can also sell items for money. Be a stay-at-home parent (Regardless of funds… Some parents just want to devote their lives to their children! This sim must be a Stay-at-home parent until their child/children all reach the YA life stage) 13. Go back to college 14. Write a book

        The thump of the kick drum reeled beneath us. Several musicians were performing a soundcheck. Every now and then there was the occasional screech of feedback nipping through the speakers. It grated my ears and made me walk with a stiff stride.

       Daylight had shortened. The sun was starting to go down. The grass had an ashy brown tinge to it as it greeted the soles of my rubber boots. 

     “Oh look!” Kaylee pointed up at the front. “There’s front row seats!” We started to head over to the front. 

     The rotating lights on the stage met my eyes and left me motionless. “Yeah….” I let out a slow murmur. We really were here. I was about to see David up on that stage. I wondered how he felt. The stage was so big and open for everyone to see. Those lights hid nothing. Every smile and frown of nervousness was wide open for the world to see.

     It wasn’t too long before Kaylee swung back over to me, dangling her arm over my shoulder. “I’m baaaaaack!” She was all peppy and excited. Part of me wished that she could rub some of her spirit off on me. 

     I wasn’t sure if it was her new hairstyle or just the vibe around us that was making her all excited. Her new icy blue strands complimented her aesthetic in the best way possible. 

      Everyday I was learning more about Kaylee. Who would’ve known that such a young mad-scientist would be so good at hair? She had my hair all straight, sleek, and neat. I owed her one. 

     “That was surprisingly quick.” My feet didn’t want to move. I wanted to turn back around even though I wanted to see David.

      She gave me this weird look, and she checked to see if anyone was close to us as we walked. “Someone blew that bathroom UP!” 

      “Oh my gosh!” The two of us busted out laughing.

      “Yeah, I HAD to get out of there.” She smiled through her gritted teeth, and it made me feel weak inside.

      The more the days passed, the more I was reminded of just how cold it was getting outside. My fuzzy navy blue turtleneck was giving me warmth but there was still a draft that made me feel icy inside. Part of me knew it was nerves. It was supposed to be a fun evening, yet I felt so uncertain of everything. 

      There were so many people. I stood in front of the entrance, waiting for Kaylee to finish using the bathroom. The smell of cigarette smoke and alcohol mixed with the natural essence from the trees. I don’t know why but it made me feel uncomfortable. People were running around, chatting, shouting, cheering, laughing, and having a good time. But I was just watching it all, feeling my stomach squirm every other minute.

       It was only 10pm after I got off of the phone with Kaylee, and it was 2am by the time I finished sending my last text. I put my head down, and closed my heavy eyes as my cheek met my pillow. ‘Time just might finally be on our side… Gn. :)’

       Seven. Just seven. There were only seven hours until we would be near each other again. But it would be different this time. Frowns would be replaced with smiles and rigidness would turn into stillness. 

       It felt unreal. Too good to be true…maybe time would play a big trick on us again and ruin everything? The heaviness of sleep weighed down on my chest and silenced my racing mind.

      Apologies were made. Amends were on the way. Bygones were to remain as bygones, and new memories were to be made. For the better this time…

Wiggins Residence

     “Can you freaking believe him?!” I was shouting into my phone as I laid on my sofa. Kaylee was silent on the other end. I definitely gave her an earful on the other end of the line. “Oh my God, I’m so sorry.” I apologized, and silenced myself. 

      She started laughing, and reassured me. “It’s cool, Mel.”

     “No, no. I really shouldn’t have just did that.” I apologized profusely as I let out a large sigh. “Ugh, Kay I just needed to let this out. I shouldn’t have even bothered you with this. It’s not like it matters anyways…” My eyes drifted up to the ceiling. 

      “Clearly it bothers you.” She was right. I knew she was right about that. 

     “It’s just so annoying. You know what I mean?” I gave her the run down for the 100th time. “And he had the nerve to invite me to his silly show!” I mentioned that again for probably the 1,000th time. 

     Kaylee didn’t speak for a good minute or so. I thought for sure that I had made her fall asleep from all of my venting, but she was still there. “Well, do you wanna go?”

     Her response almost made me choke. “Go?” 

    “Yeah, we can go together if you want.” Kaylee waited for me to respond.

    It would’ve been a lie if I said I hadn’t thought about going. There was a little part of me that wanted to go, but I kept shutting it down. 

    “Mel?”

    “Yeah-” I felt my phone vibrate against my cheek, and I pulled it away from me. There was a message that flashed across the screen and I felt my heart do a little jump. 

     My mind was like a deck of cards. Shuffled and scrambled, cycling through various cards instead of my own logical thoughts. “Kay, I’m gonna have to call you back. Is that alright?”

      “How would you know it’s better this way when you’ve never even tried to think of another way?” He was digging himself into a digger hole without even realizing it. He continued to look off to the side even when he was talking to me.

      “Didn’t try?!” I scoffed. “Why should I? You’re the one who-”

      “I know what I did.” David continued to act as if I weren’t even there.

      We were officially beating a dead horse.  “I’m done wasting my breath.” I stared at him, hoping that maybe he would turn to face me but he kept avoiding my gaze. “You have serious issues.”

      “Thanks.” He said.

      I took that as my signal to leave, and so I did.

        “Talk and hang out?” I repeated his statement. “David, you know-”

         “Fuck it.” He got all short with me, and looked off to the side as if I wasn’t there. 

        “Excuse me?” I grimaced in disgust.

       He shrugged, and I watched the muscles in his face tense up. His jaw seemed to twitch and pop out. “I’m not going to keep trying if you don’t even care.”

     “Don’t care?” I sighed and closed my eyes. “David, I’ve been trying not to care.” I shook my head, instantly regretting the fact that I had said that. “That’s what you don’t understand…” I grew quiet and looked down at the ground. “There’s no point in trying. It’s better this way…”

      He looked me up and down, and said “Well…What can I help you with?”

      “Nothing.” My voice was rang with a harsh edge. 

       His eyes made their way to mine. There was no movement or sound in that moment. He had this inquisitive look on his face as he studied me. 

       Finally, he sighed. “Look, I don’t want things to be like this….Awkward and shit like that.” He spoke low and slow. There was a break in our eye contact as his eyes veered off to the left. “You should come to my show on Saturday.”

      “Are you serious?” I held it all back…The things I wanted to say. “You can’t be serious?!” 

      He didn’t respond, so I did. “David! Please tell me how you think I would consider coming to your show. Are you joking?!”

       His head came crashing down into the palms of his hands. “Mel, you’re right… I messed up.” There was a hint of shame and regret within his voice. “I shouldn’t have done what I did, but I couldn’t think of any other way…”

       “You couldn’t think of any other way to tell me you have a girlfriend instead of just ghosting me?!” It was almost funny when I said it out loud. 

      He kept shaking his head back and forth in his hands, gripping his strands of hair as his fingers grazed through his head full of hair. “Mel, it really wasn’t like that.” He sighed and gritted his teeth. “Look, you should really come to the show on Saturday…” He started talking slow again. “We can hang out, and talk…For real this time.”
