UPDATED taxonomy of living mikes chart

hey everybody, new mike chart! roughly the same deal as [the old one], but in light of the lieutvia michael fiasco it now includes some mikes that were later consolidated into other mikes. but not all of them! so this chart is either non comprehensive to a new goal or contains a lot of extraneous information to the old one. lol

see the notes for other caveats and exclusions. otherwise, this should list every mike in woe.begone up to episode 191! contains spoilers up to that point, of course. as with the first one, this excludes speculation and operates on information we are currently given to understand is true.

excellent detail that Try says nomenclature with the british pronunciation because the only way he knows the word is through it being part of Ty's vocabulary.

@blotomical said something that resonated with me on the woebecord, commenting on the terrifying nature of being forcibly transported (spacetime technology kidnappings, basically)

One of the reasons I love WOE.BEGONE so deeply: the scifi and horror elements of the story are so over the top that they become relatable again. Similes of life. For exampel: Mike Walters' list of injuries and "pain as punishment for not being good enough" as a story of progressive disability. Michael Walters' cripability. How even with spacetime technology and medical innovations, some lives can't be saved, some pain and scarring can't be undone. Chasing the ultimate power, only ending up being a servant to forces far greater than your limited perspective can grasp.

And this. Always living at risk of being kidnapped, or perhaps worse: being iterated and kidnapped, another you living on in your place, your life becoming redundant to those who mean most to you. You have become a useless spare. A process casually activated by the press of a button. Sci-fi. But also: that's life. No matter how strong and sturdy the foundations that we build for ourselves, our bodies, our loved ones - it can change in a matter of seconds. A viral infection, unusual blood test results, a phone call asking if you're sitting down. Your spouse dying in front of you at 10:24pm, no matter how many years you try to prevent it from happening.

I think about that a lot.
