Though it was also because during a certain period after she was heartbroken by so many of her human lovers passing the crystal gems tried to keep her away from them to lessen her pain. "But anyways it's great to meet you. I'm rose. Leader of the crystal gems. We protect humanity as well as all other living beings on earth."

Rose giggled clearly charmed. Her mountain of ringlet curls shaking as she did so. "You're cute. I don't know how long you're gonna stay here but would you like to play with me?"

"Oh that's certainly a lot." She commented before continuing to idly run her fingers through her son's hair. There was no judgement in her tone. Rather just surprise and shock from all that information being thrown to her at once. "Yeah there are some things in homeworld society and the design of certain gems that can be really unsettling." She admitted with a shrug.

"I'm so sorry." She suddenly spoke. Looking her boy in the eye before caressing the side of his cheek. "That's an awful lot to go through and we might have had different experiences but I feel like I've gone through something similar when it came to the stress of starting the crystal gems. Not to mention the war to save this planet. I've dealt with my far share of sneaky homeworld gems pulling lies and tricks like that. This is never anything I wanted for you. I never wanted you to have so much responsibility. I only ever wanted you to have a normal happy childhood."

"Hello steven." His mother greeted him with warmth. She had been conjured in her room yet again. The pink gem gazing at her child with all the love a mother could muster. "I've missed you." This wasn't exactly the first time they've met this way. "What have you been up to?"

"Oh it's dangerous here? Hmm what exactly about it is dangerous? You haven't spotted monsters around here have you? That might be the corrupted gems. In that case I could poof and bubble them away no problem."

"Oh aren't you friendly?" She said with a pleasant laughing following soon after. Bending down to reach his hand to give haru a hearty handshake. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I've just been doing some exploring. I love surrounding myself with nature. Is this a village of some sort?"

"Um I don't know?" She answered nervously. Despite being robotic in nature she had just enough of rose in her for her behavior to mirror that or the gem. As well as rose's way of feeling and approaching the situation. "But don't worry he'll come back. He always does. He comes here a lot you know. Oh I probably wasn't suppose to tell you that." She said with an awkward chuckle. "In the meantime I can make you comfortable. I can get you a bed or a couch."

"Oh hello. You're not steven." Cloud rose could not recognize the girl. Sure steven had told her a lot about connie but he hadn't exactly given her a description of the girl. "Um can I help you? Is there something you need from me?"

"Oh aren't you friendly?" She said with a pleasant laughing following soon after. Bending down to reach his hand to give haru a hearty handshake. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I've just been doing some exploring. I love surrounding myself with nature. Is this a village of some sort?"

Cloud rose hummed a soft melody which she hoped would bring her son some comfort. From the looks of it he really seemed to need it. As she sang she gently ran her fingers through his hair. Petting his head in way she hoped would ease his nerves a bit. "I'm here. Now say whatever you need to say. I think you might feel a lot better once you get these feelings out. No matter how negative they might be." He didn't have to worry too much about her reacting in a way he wouldn't like. After all her main purpose was to make him happy and provide him comfort when at his lowest.

"Oh I see." Cloud rose took a good look around. Stepping behind the girl to see the door in fact has disappeared. "Steven must've left recently for you to get in here." She mused. A light hum in her tone. "Are you that connie he always talks about?" She asked in curiosity. A soft smile soon coming to her features. "You make him very happy but also very sad sometimes. But he loves you very much. I hear about it all the time." She was so caught up in what she was saying that she lost focus. "Oh but you can't leave. Not until he comes back that is. Since you don't have his gemstone you can't make the exit appear again."

"Oh no not at all! I actually think I'm a bit behind. I've been so focused on bubbling away gems that I haven't gotten to interact with humans like I usually do." She just went on assuming that he knew by appearances alone that she wasn't another person like him. "I'm still using record players. I don't think I have a CD player."

She chuckled at that. "Small world. Earth is kinda my thing." She said as she turned over the CD. Reading off the song titles to herself. "Oh really? I would love to! What do I do with it exactly though? I'd love to know what it's for."

Something I would've loved to seen explored in future is greg's grieve over rose. In contrast with the gems he never seems to properly grieve or deal with his own feelings towards rose's passing. This seems to be because he wants to put steven first above all else and probably because with the gems clear grief on display through the years he might feel guilty for taking her away from them.

I would have loved to see some flashback episodes with rose and greg with greg being older out of the 80s era. We technically got one with rose's videotape. Greg being included with her but I really wanna explore their relationship outside the early days. Where their relationship has grown and matured. Especially their last days together during her pregnancy and at her death bed giving birth to steven.

"Space train to the cosmos?" Rose asked as she picked up his CD. The pink gem in question had been the only member of his audience and she'd been enamored the entire time. It had been a century or two since she'd been this impressed by a human's lyrics.
