Hot Take: If DC really wanted to write a good Scarecrow story, they would emphasize several core aspects of his character. First of all, Jonathan Crane is not weak. He is lanky, but he makes up for his lack of muscles with an extreme and uncanny ability to be hyper flexible. His special brand of โViolent Dancingโ is dangerous and fatal. He can break bones with his kicks.
Not only that, but he is extremely intelligent. Heโs one of the smartest and most cunning rogues, he earned a PhD in psychology and has done more than just teach classes at Gotham University. He is a renowned psychologist with a fixation on fear. Let him USE that knowledge. He has an enormous vocabulary and he can break you down with words alone.
Make it so heโs immune to his own toxin. Far too many times writers have used this scapegoat when he canโt figure out a concrete ending for his story. He shouldnโt be defeated so easy. The irony has long worn off, this is a cheap storytelling tactic. Crane is a chemist in most cannons and heโs his own test subject as well, he would never be so foolish as to overlook such an obvious weakness. His toxin is his lovechild, and he would definitely be immune to it thanks to years of self injections.
Lastly, give him a design indicative of his namesake. Donโt just slap a burlap sack on his head and call it a day. Give him a hat, or overalls with patches sewn across the chest. He should look like a walking Scarecrow, make him look gruesome, accentuate his lanky features, make sure he wears glasses, etc. Thereโs so much you could do with his design. Just make it scary.

That boy is about to seek revenge over the town that murdered him. He knows this, he says, because he himself is the heir apparent to that throne of terror so long held by the likes of Voorhees, Myers and Krueger.

One should always have at least 2 craft projects going. That way, when one of them is messed up and misbehaving, you can switch to another, and let the first one sit there and think about what it's done.

Is it groovy
Is it smashing, baby
Is it shagedelic
Does it give you mojo
