CASE REPORT: Andrew Ward
In January 2015, a young girl called 911 in fear for her and her sibling’s lives as she relayed recent events to the female dispatcher on the other line: her 27-year-old half brother, Andrew Ward, had just come home with an extravagant purchase (something in a large box) and had quickly stowed away in his bedroom in a manner she described as “sketchy.” The unnamed girl was clearly terrified, stating twice during the call that she believed he was “crazy,” and going to kill them while the dispatcher seemed unconvinced.
Said female dispatcher repeatedly stated that no crime had been committed, and cannot guarantee that officers would search her brother’s room, as she requested more than once during the brief, 3-minute long call - which ended in the young girl stating, “I guess I’ll wait until he kills us,” before disconnecting.

Only one day later, Andrew Ward [pictured: left] flees his home and ends up in their local Circle K gas station, where he borrows a strangers phone while covered in blood. Immediately, he dials 911 and confesses that there is a murder in his home. When asked how he knows, he replies that it is because he stabbed his half-brother Austin Tapio, only 12 years old [pictured: right], until he was dead.

When questioned by the female dispatcher on the other line as to why he did this, he said, “Honestly, I just felt like killing.” The dispatcher was competent this time around, as well as charismatic enough to convince the man he borrowed the phone from - who was late to class - to allow the killer to stay on the line long enough to keep him talking until the officers arrived on the scene.
Shortly after arriving, the officers arrest him - this doesn’t quell the male’s thirst for blood. Rather, less than a month later, while residing in jail for his crime, he gouges out the eyes of his cellmate and suffocates him with a plastic bag, effectively killing him. Unfortunately, his plea deal did not allow for the death penalty, and he was sentenced to life without parole.
When a killer makes it clear that all he wants to do is kill, I find it best to listen... and put his ass in solitary confinement to rot.

do casey anthony’s case next
Gladly. Casey Anthony is an interesting case, psychology wise - the way she pathologically lies in order to attempt to fool both law enforcement and even her parents; who at one point in her life faked a graduation/graduation party for Casey when she decided to drop out of high school.
She’s always believed that she is above consequences, and it’s truly unfair that it proved consistent and true even in the courtroom. While I admit the prosecution couldn’t prove manner of death, location of the murder, or exact time of murder - Casey Anthony was the only one with a motive and the people she accused of stealing her child didn’t even exist! Very strange how her rapist defense lawyer made sure she walked away from her child’s murder with clean hands.

CASE REPORT: The Bell Tragedy
It speaks for itself when even in a small, neighbor-friendly town such as Bell, Florida, domestic abuse towards poor women and children is treated as a recurring annoyance, rather than a serious threat to a woman’s life.
Sarah Spirit, a 22 year old mother of three [pictured: left], was pregnant with her fourth child as she desperately called the police department in fear of her father Don Spirit [pictured: right] with nowhere else to go. Sarah even went as far as to testify against him in court to file a domestic violence injunction in 2008, where unfortunately no restraining order was filed thereafter.
Tumblr media
Years pass after Don Spirit earns several battery charges under his belt, and threatens his daughter not to contact the authorities ever again. Child protective services (CPS) are called numerous times in response to violent and drug related charges to both Sarah and several other members of the family - but do not remove any children from the Spirit household. The agency refuses to state to the public as to why the children remained in the household, when it was common knowledge in Bell, FL that both Sarah and her current boyfriend would often be detained regarding drugs, theft, and battery.
When Sarah Spirit was only 28, and her now six children below were ranging from barely a few months old to merely eleven, 911 received a phone call from Don Spirit on a Thursday.
Tumblr media
This call lasts only two minutes and begins with Don stating, “I just shot my daughter. And shot all my grandkids [...] and when you get here, I’m gonna shoot myself.” Throughout the call he is unhinged, slightly stuttering, and often swears at the female 911 dispatcher. After only a minute, he hangs up on 911 - and awaits for police to arrive before he shoots himself on his back porch.
You have to wonder how many cries for help these children gave to not only law enforcement, but CPS during their numerous visits to the home.
It’s not shocking to know that when Don Spirit’s daughter Sarah was only 15, he shot and killed her brother in the woods in a “hunting accident,” to which he only received 3 years in prison for not being allowed to carry a firearm; due to previous convictions. It leads me to believe that Don was greatly disturbed long before the domestic abuse and Bell tragedy occurred.
