All the bands I used to like don't do good records anymore and I'm scared of liking new things (apart from The Dillinger Escape Plan, obviously)

Cursive - I Am Gemini
Before I tirade into something that makes me look like a dick, I love this band.Ā Not in that dickhead fanboy way (Iām not fat, Iām probably slightly better than average looking and I have a girlfriend who has tattoos that aren't bad).Ā I just think that for two albums and one ep this band was probably the greatest band on earth and then after 2003 they just really fucked it.
This House Alive:
So it started and then I went for a piss then spoke to me bird for a bit.
Warmer Warmer:
About half way through this song I realised that I was listening to something that I should pay attention to but it just sounded like another example of a band who was brilliant who then tried to be popular but failed.Ā The exact words I used to the wife was āi don't get how stupid bands are. if you were a viable emo band and stop being it, sell out, don't try and be slightly what you were, no one will careā.
The Sun and Moon:
So Tim now sounds like heās in the Killers and the music behind him is really below average.Ā Like, you guys are old, you should know better.Ā Start a new band, play some pop, itāll sound brilliant because you are clearly very good at what you do.Ā Is this their attempt at the single?Ā It seems like theyāre trying real hard but itās just so wrong.Ā Pop kids wonāt like it and everyone who thought you were good ten years ago will think itās bollocks.
Drunken Birds:
Oh itās the dance one.Ā Still the same voice, same too clear production for a band that isnāt right for this.Ā Itās well Killers but that band are good at selling records.Ā No one bought this.Ā
Lullaby For A Name:
Pointless filler noise.Ā At this point I decided to listen to Sierra because itās a song that was terrific.
Overall:
Sierra is one of the greatest songs ever written, just listen to that, it sounds like a band who cares. (I missed the rest of the record because Iām in me mid / to late 20s)
