Semi-Hiatus/Hiatus Announcement: 12/20/25 - 12/29/25

Hey y'all!

Wanted to pop in with a very brief update regarding my activity for this week. I'm heading out of town to visit my brother and sister for Christmas later this evening and I won't be bringing my laptop with me. Because of this, activity will be incredibly slow, if I even write anything at all over the next week and a half or so.

I might try to do some asks here or there because those are at least things I'm able to do via mobile, but threads may be on hold or could become very long in length if I do attempt any.

That said, once I get back from my holiday travels, I should be around a few weeks before I head back to school and my next conference in mid-January, so I will have time to write. Again, if I do any writing the next week and a half, it will likely be asks and short crack things, not much else. I hope y'all have a great holiday and I'll see y'all again soon.

I did actually end up doing a bit of writing earlier today which felt good to do again! Have a few asks in my drafts that I worked on a bit, so I'm hoping to do more of those tomorrow. For now, though, I have DnD starting soon and I'm attending with my friends (now that I'm home), so I likely won't be here the rest of the evening.

With that said, if y'all want to send in some memes for Balasar, you are more than happy to send some stuff in for me to work on tomorrow.

Ah. Well. This wasn't really a question that Balasar had been expecting, and yet at the same time... this seems like someone purposely was asking him to figure out information about the type of people he may have liked. WHich was fair, in his mind at least. It didn't mean he wanted to answer the question or anything like that, but he didn't really have a choice here, now did he?

After all, this seemed like it would just open a can of worms for more questions to be asked later that may have been similar in some capacity. And he wasn't sure if he would be too prepared for that or anything.

Because there were some things out there he was thinking over in his mind that he didn't want to answer necessarily, but he isn't about to share that with any of you. That's for all of you to figure out yourselves!

Here the dragon was, yet again, stuck under the mistletoe for someone to come by out of nowhere to receive a kiss from him. Had the Dragonborn potentially been planning this in camp for a little bit? Sure, maybe he had, but nobody had to know about that part. After all, it would ruin the surprise more than anything else!

And he had imagined pulling this stunt in camp with Katyya around could be a bit of fun, especially considering the fact that he knew the two of them went back and forth with one another in terms of teasing each other. So why not try and find a spot to get her back for some of her own teasing lately? After all, all was fair in love and war, right?

But as he saw Katya round the corner of the rock, he held out the mistletoe just so she could see it and Balasar gave a sly smirk her way and a quick wink. She probably would catch on rather quickly to what he had been trying to pull here, but it didn't make it any less fun or something.

In fact, it just gave him an excuse to pull this stunt on more people, who were willing of course. And Katya seemed she had fallen for his trap so he could terrorize, err he means, kiss and tease!

❝Such a shame we found ourselves under the mistletoe together right now... I guess this means I have to go ahead and kiss you now, huh?❞ he remarked with a chuckle as he put the mistletoe aside and gently pulled her close to him.

He leaned down slightly to actually reach her as his cool, rather rougher scales, brushed against her lips before Balasar gave her a nice little kiss. It didn't last too long, just to try and tease Katya a bit, before he pulled back and gave her a soft smile.

❝Better watch out to make sure you don't find yourself under the mistletoe again... I'd hate to see where all of these could potentially lead~❞

This... was a time of year when Balasar was not too accustomed to or anything. He didn't really know much about the entire holiday season and the fact that so many lights and decorations had begun to spring up everywhere had really thrown him off. And, yet, at the same time... it seemed that parts of him remembered this from his childhood. From being around his family and friends... a time that he always enjoyed because it seemed everyone was happy.

As much as thought about some of those memories, those were not ones he could really think of too much now. He had a new path that he was carving out, even if there was murder being shouted in the back of his head. All of this to say... Balasar had found himself under the mistletoe with Puck and now he was just... kind of...

Well... staring at him for a few moments. He hadn't even considered the implications if he was honest. But, at a time like this, he knew what it meant, even if it was still part of his childhood that he hadn't entirely understood or anything.

❝I can't help but imagine you had planned part of this on purpose,❞ the Dragonborn chuckled softly.

However, it did not take long for him to reach down, lift Puck's head up a little bit (so he could actually reach him more easily), and give Puck a gentle kiss before breaking it after a few moments.

It was the little things that Balasar thought was fun every now and again. Sure, maybe he did have his moments of being batshit crazy and losing control of himself, but the fact that there were so many people around that actually cared about him more than made up for that. Tara may not have fit into any of the categories that were described in any way, but that didn't mean that the Dragonborn didn't care about her or anything.

In fact, now that he was rearing his head again, he was more than happy to be greeted by her and a small little kiss. Again, it was the small things for Balasar. He had a dark past, but that didn't seem to matter too much to people. Whether or not that was a good thing was kind of up in the air, but Balasar liked to believe it was because people looked at him more than just face value.

Whether or not someone actually was doing that, was anyone's guess. But, again... that didn't matter too much to him. personally.

❝If I were a betting dragon, I would have said that you seemed excited to see me here,❞ he remarked after the kiss was broken. He wrapped his arms around her neck and held her close as he looked down into her eyes, a soft smile spread across his features.
